Chapter 704: Leaving

With this energy crystal, Xu Mumu immediately called over Doudou and gave him the largest piece. She explained the effects of this to him; although it could only connect one way from her side, it was already very useful.

"Mom, are you serious?" Yin Si widened his eyes. Now that the young man was in college, he didn’t like others, except his family, calling him by his nickname.

"Of course. Go to your room and I’ll try to contact you," Xu Mumu said excitedly.

Yin Si nodded immediately, and the mother and son started connecting from across a room. Xu Mumu held the Reincarnation Jade tightly and then felt a small part of her superpower being depleted.

A small light screen appeared before her, showing her son’s tall figure. She could even clearly see the décor of his room.

"Mom?" Yin Si called softly. The soundproofing of the house was excellent, and he was worried that the crystal wouldn’t transmit sound, but it proved to be entirely feasible and even clearer than a phone call.

"Yes, I can hear you. Come over," Xu Mumu said with great joy. With this thing, she and Yin Yang would not have to constantly miss this place over there.

Once they confirmed it worked, the mother and son were very pleased.

"I wonder if I can contact Mom from my side," Yin Si pondered while holding onto the crystal.

"You need to use a superpower to activate it; give it a try," Xu Mumu said, recalling the feeling she had when activating the Reincarnation Jade.

Yin Si tried it with the crystal. It indeed absorbed his superpower, but not much, and the absorbed energy replenished itself automatically shortly after.

Then, Xu Mumu’s Reincarnation Jade flickered, and her son appeared in the light screen once again.

Although currently only her son could use the crystal, Xu Mumu was already very satisfied. When her parents wanted to contact her, her son could bring the connection along.

In the evening, Xu Mumu gathered the family again, took out the crystal, explained its use, and conducted an experiment for them.

The most shocked was Jiang Yuxiu. She felt her worldview shatter. She previously thought her sister-in-law was just making up stories to appease their parents-in-law, though there was some basis, it was too incredible to believe.

But now, she had to accept this reality.

"This crystal stone is so convenient. I’ll carry it with me and sew a pouch to wear it around my neck. Daughter, make sure to keep in touch with us often," Li Caixia said, holding the crystal reluctant to let go, feeling satisfied just to see her daughter doing well in another world.

"Mom, don’t worry. I’ll contact you whenever I can," Xu Mumu nodded earnestly.

After a moment of hesitation, Xu Mumu gave the remaining piece of crystal to Yu Xinyao, one of her few friends.

As for Du Yu, Xu Mumu didn’t even consider it. Du Yu didn’t have the time, and he’s such a blabbermouth; what if he goes around telling everyone about the crystal? It’s too miraculous, and she worried it would attract unwanted attention.

Xu Mumu decided not to rush in explaining the crystal’s effects to Yu Xinyao. She planned to let her son relay this information after she departed.

In the time remaining, Xu Mumu spent her days bonding well with the children, having previously been too busy with the Jade Pendant to give them the attention they deserved, intending to make it up to them now.

Unfortunately, her health was declining daily; even a few extra steps were an unbearable burden, restricting her to a wheelchair.

"Mumu, you need to think about how to take your husband and son away," came the last notification from the little elf as Xu Mumu sorted her belongings to leave them behind.

"Just take them with me, right?" Xu Mumu was puzzled.

"You’re overthinking it. I can only take their souls from this world. Yin Yang can find a recently deceased body to merge with. As for the kids, should we find bodies for them to inhabit, or should I create an opportunity for them to be born from you again?" the little elf looked at Xu Mumu.

Xu Mumu was silent. It was indeed something she needed to think about carefully. She should first ask her sons for their opinions.

Xu Mumu conveyed the little elf’s words fully to her two children, allowing them to choose for themselves, though finding suitable bodies in the post-apocalyptic world might not be easy.

"We want to be Mom’s children, not someone else’s," the two children exchanged a glance and quickly made their decision.

"Alright then," Xu Mumu understood. "Let’s be born anew."

As her body was nearing its limits, Xu Mumu told everyone, urging them to be mentally prepared.

Yin Yang also handed over all his work to his son, and although their son was young, he had gained plenty of experience over the years under his guidance. With Zhou Yunhong and others around, there would be no issues at the company.

Xu Mumu sat on the bed, giving her final instructions, then looked at Yin Yang and her two sons.

"Mom, take care of yourselves over there," Yin Si, eyes moist, reached out to hug Xu Mumu, probably for the last time.

Xu Mumu felt bitter inside, reluctant to leave each family member despite having the crystal.

"I will. I’ll contact you every night," Xu Mumu took a deep breath.

"Remember, have you prepared everything?" Li Caixia hurriedly asked.

"Mom, rest assured, everything has been prepared," Xu Mumu’s voice was choked with emotion. All the supplies they prepared would last them a lifetime.

"Remember, your safety is the most important. I hope you all live well," Xu Hai said, eyes red.

"Dad, I know. Brother, Minglei, Ming Feng, please take care of mom and dad," Xu Mumu looked at them seriously.

"Sis, you don’t have to say it, we’ll take good care of our parents. Don’t worry about us at home; we just hope you live well," Xu Minglei quickly replied. He was reluctant for his sister to leave, but as long as she lived well, it didn’t matter where she was.

"I haven’t seen my two younger brothers get married yet; I’m reluctant to leave," Xu Mumu mumbled, gently touching her brother’s head, recalling how he, like a furious little lion when she first came through, wanted to avenge her against Xu Xue.

"Sis, stop talking nonsense. You know how you’re leaving; hurry and go," Xu Minglei’s heart filled with an unexplained panic, wishing for his sister to leave quickly. He sensed she might not be able to hold on any longer.
