Chapter 708: Ice Element Superpower

"Aow." Although she was curious about why her brother called the whole family over, Yin Chuchu still obediently went to get them.

Soon, the brothers Yin Peng had arrived, and Xu Mumu followed Yin Yang to respectfully greet everyone.

Second Uncle Yin Yu of the Yin Family and his wife Su Wanrou, along with their son Yin Lin, were a decent family and maintained a good relationship with the main household.

Recently, Xu Mumu had good relations with both the main and second branches of the family. As for the other branches, they were Sir Yin’s illegitimate children, and now that Sir Yin had passed, these people couldn’t outwit the Yin Peng brothers and had no choice but to live honestly within the Yin Family.

"Why did you call us over, Yang? Are you looking to discuss your and Little Xu’s wedding?" Su Wanrou joked with a smile.

"The wedding between Mumu and I won’t be held for now. We’ll wait until things settle down. Today, I’ve called everyone here to discuss something important." Yin Yang glanced at his young wife, thinking if time and circumstances allowed, he would’ve held the wedding immediately to solidify their relationship.

"What is it?" Yin Peng gestured to the butler, who promptly understood and left the room, closing the door behind him.

With only the Yin Family members in the room, Yin Yang got straight to the point.

"I got information from a friend that this meteor shower carries numerous viruses, and the world is about to fall. Eighty percent of people will be infected with the zombie virus." Yin Yang’s voice was cold and clear.

"Zombie virus? Brother, did you sleep too long and get muddled?" Yin Lin burst out laughing.

"Brother, where did you hear such rumors? The Mayans’ predicted doomsday has long passed." Yin Chuchu also laughed, thinking it was no big deal. This was it?

"Chuchu, it’s true." Xu Mumu said seriously.

"Yang, explain in detail." Yin Peng looked at his son. Seeing his seriousness made it seem unlikely he was joking.

"Dad, you believe him?" Yin Chuchu looked at her father incredulously.

"Yes, I believe him. Lately, I’ve had bouts of unease, especially after the meteor shower was reported." Yin Peng nodded, feeling danger but unsure why. He had a hunch his son was telling the truth.

Yin Yang explained the apocalypse in detail. Although the Yin Family still harbored doubts, Yin Peng instructed them to start gathering supplies.

With the Yin Family’s influence, the resources collected in just a few days were limited.

Xu Mumu looked at the sky outside, standing by the window with Yin Yang. The meteor shower was about to arrive.

With it would come endless calamity.

"Mumu, do you think I’ll turn into a zombie? My health is so poor right now." Yin Yang felt uneasy, having worried about this for days.

"Don’t talk nonsense." Xu Mumu glared at him, forbidding any more nonsense.

Upon hearing Yin Yang’s worries, Xu Mumu began to feel anxious.

"Why think so much? When you crossed over, experiencing a time-flux, though I protected you, you should’ve felt it. Your soul has strengthened." The little elf observed the worried couple.

Despite all the good deeds these two had done, even bringing them back hadn’t depleted her energy. She still managed to make her presence known.

"Yes, indeed. My senses have become sharper." Xu Mumu said earnestly. "So what? What does that have to do with turning into a zombie?"

"I mean, even if Yin Yang becomes a zombie, the virus won’t rob him of his consciousness. He has a high chance of becoming a Zombie Emperor. As long as enough Crystal Cores evolve him, he’ll eventually return to normal." The little elf was quite calm.

Xu Mumu: "..." She didn’t want to speak. Who would want to turn into a zombie?!

Still, she conveyed the little elf’s message to Yin Yang.

Yin Yang pondered over his wife’s words. If that’s the case, there’s indeed nothing to worry about.

The meteor shower arrived as expected, and Xu Mumu watched from the window.

One meteor after another streaked across the sky, lighting up the night.

As the meteors fell, colorful specks appeared in the sky, entering everyone’s bodies with each breath.

Once inhaled, Xu Mumu blacked out and fainted; simultaneously, the entire world fell silent.

The specks appeared and disappeared quickly, lasting only about ten minutes.

With the meteor shower gone, Earth’s magnetic field changed, cutting off signals and electricity, plunging the world into darkness.

When Xu Mumu opened her eyes again, the sun was unusually bright. After squinting and glancing at Yin Yang beside her, she sighed in relief—no signs of zombification.

Checking the phone’s time, it was already noon the next day. She had woken up half a day early.

It seemed her body harbored a strange new power, as if not only a Power Ability but something else as well.

Xu Mumu summoned this energy, realizing a sharp ice spike in her hand—she had gained an Ice Element ability.

"Little elf, what’s going on?" Xu Mumu asked in confusion.

"It’s because your soul strengthened enough to adapt to those superpower factors. Ice Element suits you well, so awakening was natural."

"Are there so many benefits to a strong soul?" Xu Mumu was a bit dazed but more delighted. Having another superpower made her stronger, especially since she’d never heard of dual-element awakening in her past life.

"There are many benefits. The human soul is mysterious. People haven’t even explored one percent of it."

"What are the benefits? Tell me," Xu Mumu’s eyes sparkled.

"How would I know? I’ve only been conscious for tens of thousands of years and never ventured out. Even with several hosts, they died early. I had no time to study these things," the little elf pouted.

"Uh." Well, Xu Mumu felt deflated, knowing the little elf was being honest.

"By the way, I feel the falling meteors are similar in material to the Reincarnation Jade. If possible, get me some meteor pieces."

"What do you want meteorites for?" Xu Mumu asked curiously, knowing several meteorite craters. Meteorites could mutate or evolve zombies, making ones near meteorites particularly strong.

"To see if devouring them can help me evolve. I’m stuck in the Reincarnation Jade, seeing the world only through you. It’s so boring! I’d prefer to explore the world myself." As the little elf spoke, her eyes gleamed. Her main goal was to become strong enough for her spirit to escape the Reincarnation Jade.
