Xu Mumu looked at this scene with a headache, wondering where these people got the confidence to provoke a level-four Zombie Dog.
With a light kick from the Zombie Dog’s hind legs, these people were sent flying far away.
The Zombie Dog also noticed Xu Mumu and the others, especially its gaze fell upon Big Black Snake and the others, who had consumed so many Crystal Cores that, despite not having increased their superpower, had become level-seven Mutant Beast. Naturally, it could sense the overwhelming pressure emanating from Big Black Snake.
"Woof, woof." The Zombie Dog stared fixedly at Xu Mumu and the others, seemingly warning them not to come any closer.
"We found this place first, you should leave." The level-two superpower user in the team looked at Xu Mumu and the others with dissatisfaction, maintaining a strong stance despite them bringing a bunch of Mutant Beasts.
The peaches on the peach tree were big and red, their faint fragrance making his superpower operate more smoothly. It was evident they were valuable.
"Then why don’t you go ahead and fight the Zombie Dog? We’ll just watch from here." Xu Mumu smiled.
It wasn’t that she underestimated them, but against a level-four Mutant Beast and Zombie animal, their hides would evolve again, and ordinary bullets might not even pierce through. Going would be pure suicide.
"This dog is strange; it hasn’t completely turned into a Zombie animal." The little elf’s voice appeared in Xu Mumu’s mind.
"Huh, what’s going on?" Xu Mumu asked curiously.
"It should be that this dog’s willpower is strong enough to retain part of its consciousness. Dogs are inherently loyal, and there must be something in this manor it’s protecting." The little elf speculated.
"Could it be that peach tree?" Xu Mumu glanced at the peach tree, the sight of the peaches was tantalizing. In her past life, she had tasted fruits from mutant plants, and the delicious taste still lingered in her memory.
"Probably not, its owner is likely here. You should try looking for them." The little elf said calmly.
Xu Mumu immediately conveyed the little elf’s words to Yin Yang, who then took Yin Lin and the others to search for the owner, while Xu Mumu stayed back with Yin Chuchu and the others to watch the showdown.
Watching the people being repeatedly knocked down by the Zombie Dog, their bodies injured to varying degrees, they had no choice but to face reality. They couldn’t defeat the Zombie Dog, and even two companions had been bitten to death by it, with their Superpower Cores devoured.
"We’re leaving." The leader looked deeply at Xu Mumu and their group, forced to take his team and leave immediately, as the Zombie Dog was too much for them.
Once they left, the Zombie Dog’s gaze fixated on Xu Mumu and the group, baring its teeth with a savage expression, yet there was caution in its eyes. These people were formidable, and with so many mutant animals, it couldn’t take them on alone.
Soon, Yin Yang and the others returned, carrying two weak little puppies, each with abnormal fur colors, one green and the other blue, with a tiny horn on the blue one—both were mutant animals.
Xu Mumu was stunned; it seemed Mrs. Yin wanted cats and dogs, and Xu Mumu couldn’t think of anything else.
As Yin Yang brought out the two puppies, the Zombie Dog furiously charged towards him.
Xu Mumu and the others quickly followed. A flash of white light passed through Xu Mumu’s hand, freezing the Zombie Dog’s feet, while Yin Wanqiu’s vines bound it tightly.
Yin Chuchu was ready with her sword to finish off the Zombie Dog but was stopped by Xu Mumu.
"Chuchu, wait a moment."
"Sis-in-law, what’s the matter?" Yin Chuchu looked at Xu Mumu and put away her sword.
"The Zombie Dog hasn’t fully transformed yet; let me see if I can purify it." Xu Mumu said softly. She could see the love the dog had for its puppies, and she thought she might try. The little elf also indicated it was possible; she hadn’t purified a Zombie animal before.
Concerned the dog might suddenly attack, Xu Mumu froze it completely before placing her hands on the ice, enveloping the entire dog in a glowing white light.
The dog’s angry expression gradually became peaceful as it closed its eyes.
Its animal instincts told it that this person wasn’t harming it but rather helping.
Xu Mumu watched as the Zombie Dog’s fur became smoother bit by bit, then it vomited a clump of black, foul material.
The stench was overwhelming, comparable to compressing the smell of a million dead zombies a thousandfold.
Xu Mumu’s face turned blue from the offensive smell, nearly making her retch.
The little elf informed her it was the Zombie virus from the Zombie Dog.
Xu Mumu gave Yin Yang a signal, and Yin Yang immediately understood, enveloping the virus with black energy and instantly consuming it.
Retrieving the corrosive toxic mist, Yin Yang was a bit puzzled; having only absorbed a mass of the Zombie virus, he actually felt a slight increase in his superpower.
"Mumu, my superpower increased a bit." Yin Yang said in a daze, wondering if his superpower could upgrade by consuming Zombie viruses—an actual bug.
"Really?" Xu Mumu freed the Zombie Dog from its ice and placed the two puppies before it; it didn’t attack but instead started licking its pups.
Xu Mumu took out some milk and placed it in front of the mother and puppies. They must be hungry, with the puppies so thin they were practically skin and bones.
With food available, the puppies ate heartily. Xu Mumu quickly reached out, feeling their soft fur, thinking Mrs. Yin might like them.
Seeing the big dog didn’t stop her, Xu Mumu’s courage grew, and Yin Chuchu and the others followed suit.
Xu Mumu left them to continue building rapport with the three dogs and went to Big Black Snake, knowing it could communicate with these mutant animals. She intended to enlist Snake Lord to draw in this family of three.
"Not going," Snake Lord said disdainfully, unwilling to help, still in a bad mood over losing the level-four Crystal Core.
"I’ll give you all the Crystal Cores we’ve collected today," Xu Mumu gritted her teeth, bleeding—a prerequisite for enlisting its help; nothing less would suffice.
"I suppose I’ll help." After negotiating, the snake said calmly.
Xu Mumu: ....... You needn’t be so reluctant; this snake, truly, such fretting—who knows if it’ll trick us again in the future.
