Chapter 412: The Capital Sees Sunrise

Juna waited on the final roof while the capital checked every place her Daybreak Path would cut.

Four pale-gold Wings held the stored route around the outer pylon ring. Solar afterimages connected towers, chimneys, markets, and walls she had physically crossed.

An early release would sever the apertures and anyone left on the marked line while the technique had no automatic exemption for allies or civilians.

Eirwen said through the garden captains, "Southern streets are clear, but the western archive approach still contains Loccy’s bearing column and six support workers."

Ferra moved those workers one at a time beneath the palace section. Loccy could not leave Worldbearer, but Juna’s route passed above her position rather than through the carried mass.

One support worker had tied a safety line to the marked parapet. A cut with that rope attached could drag him upward even though his body remained below.

Juna removed the line, installed a new anchor beneath the release plane, and recorded the change before declaring him clear because a visual count was not enough.

Ferra said after checking her gauges, "The support column remains below the cut, but my last two masterwork fixtures touch the roofline and must be disconnected."

She withdrew both maker marks from the stored path. Masterwork Network contracted around the lower supports to preserve Loccy’s burden while the roof stayed empty.

Juna did not trust the remote report alone, so she flew the final span with one Wing, touched the archive roof physically, and looked through every room with solar sight.

One wounded executioner remained beneath a collapsed parapet. Vella examined it through Hajin’s Spirit Ring and found no surviving mortal remnant.

Only a willing divine core remained, seeking to reopen the outer aperture while its body concealed itself beneath ordinary roof tiles after losing its Wings.

Juna checked the surrounding rooms for anyone who might be harmed by its destruction, then carried the core along a route excluded from Daybreak Path.

The detour preserved the final mark instead of spending it prematurely while Juna lifted the body away from the marked roof and destroyed it above an empty courtyard.

The valid kill entered the Court ledger without changing her reconciled Wing progression, and a completed kill remained different from a safe release.

Juna said while returning to the final mark, "The archive roof is clear, so confirm Loccy remains below the release plane."

Aria said after combining Ferra’s measurements with Divine Eye, "Confirmed, and every registered civilian and ally lies outside the stored cuts."

Local captains repeated twelve district confirmations while Juna waited through all twelve instead of allowing the first eleven to become sufficient.

The Crowned Avatar realized what the completed circle meant and sent owner labels into the local captain network, then tried to make clearance reports authorize property rather than describe empty streets.

Didi froze the corrupted messages while Aria accepted only confirmations carrying the captains’ established voluntary seals.

Juna waited while three districts repeated their counts through ordinary runners, so the Court could not make one compromised signal represent an entire district.

White-gold pressure flooded the outer pylons and widened every escape aperture toward the distant Dominion authority while shapes began to form beyond them.

They were too incomplete for Divine Eye to classify, but each could become another avatar body if the road remained open.

"Reinforcement crossing begins in nine seconds," Aria said.

"Final district?" Juna asked, keeping the path held.

The river captain answered after one long heartbeat and said, "Clear, with every listed person confirmed, including the medicine runner."

Juna completed the return line under the team’s continuing observation while Daybreak Path connected every solar cut stored through her physical circuit.

Four Wings spread above the western tower, and pale-gold light traveled backward around the city faster than any single sword stroke.

The capital saw sunrise beneath the Court clouds as one bright circle crossed the outer pylon ring and cut the escape apertures.

It severed empty divine housings and the white-gold routes between them while the release passed above occupied districts before it entered any street Juna had cleared from its geometry.

Every detour remained visible inside the light as the circle rose around the hospital chimney, curved beneath the water tanks, and descended across the rebuilt balcony.

It followed the city that existed rather than an ideal map while twelve pylons separated from the Dominion road at once.

The forming reinforcement shapes collapsed beyond the apertures before entering Ouro. No remote true body appeared, and no experience reward came from enemies that never completed incarnation.

Collector’s Grasp received no soul or authority because Hajin never touched those remote forms. Fragment Recovery remained unchanged, and Ring Five gained no experience from closing the road.

The victory belonged to route denial rather than an invented kill. The distinction mattered because the system did not reward a target that had never become a valid body.

Clouds split around the solar circle as natural dawn entered the capital through the opening and illuminated labels that faded when their outer support vanished.

Juna’s stored route emptied while all four Wings remained part of her progression, but their manifested light folded against her back as exhaustion reached the pathways.

Daybreak Path could not release another city-scale answer without another complete physical route, and the vanished outer ring supplied no shortcut.

Aria said, "Outer pylon ring destroyed, Dominion reinforcement road closed, and surviving Court law is contracting toward the palace."

Citizens below looked upward as the pale-gold line faded while repair crews immediately found roofs damaged by earlier executioners despite the sight resembling a triumph.

The hospital lost one warming ward when its pylon connection died, so Ferra sent mundane braziers and engineers before patients became cold.

Water pressure failed across the northern towers, so bucket crews carried supplies along routes Juna had cleared while hostile infrastructure still left civic systems that needed replacement.

Juna descended to the nearest street and braced a cracked wall, accepted water from a local captain, then checked that no stored cut had touched the district.

Her four Wings closed after the inspection while fatigue remained unchanged and Daybreak Path required a new physical circuit before another use.

The captain said while comparing first reports, "No casualties from the release, but three injuries occurred during the earlier roof collapse."

Juna said, "Keep them in the same ledger, because sunrise does not move them into another battle."

The Crowned Avatar pulled every remaining node inward as white-gold lines retreated from outer districts to thicken around the central palace, leaving damaged wards plus ordinary fires behind.

Hajin watched the contraction from Loccy’s bearing column while the outer city gained room to breathe and the final enemy collected more pressure inside a smaller structure.

Juna reached the western archive with four Wings closed and her progress fixed at 220,000 toward the next threshold.

Juna said while looking toward the palace, "The sky road is gone, and the path did what we asked and nothing else."

Ferra compared the destroyed pylons against her network and identified three civic systems that needed replacement before night, while Juna assigned no new magical solution.

Ordinary engineers received the work through district captains while casualty runners moved beneath the fading light with corrected names from every roof Juna had crossed.

Natural light remained across the capital after her technique ended while the coming battle would occur beneath a sunrise the Dominion God could no longer use as an escape aperture.

District captains kept the pylon failures under observation while the Court withdrew toward the palace and Juna kept the damaged-roof ledger beside her progression receipt.

The city remained beneath the spectacle while every repaired name mattered as much as the bright line that had closed the sky road.

Juna returned to the roof ledger, accepted another cup of water, then checked the medicine runner, the bedridden woman, the pigeon keeper, plus the workers moved beneath Loccy’s column.

Their names remained attached to ordinary routes rather than the solar technique while the record would outlast the light and show exactly what the city had paid for its first clear morning.

Juna left the ledger with the district captain. Then she returned to the palace, where ordinary engineers were still tracing the damage beneath the clear morning.
