Chapter 549 - 488: 488 Days, Darkness Falls! (2)

Meng Shihao was visibly agitated.

"Damn it, your words are all over the place, clearly brain-damaged. What’s it going to be, Old Yang, are you going to do it yourself or should I?"

Zhang Su seemed convinced of Zhao Dezhu’s words; Absolute Justice is full of weirdos!

"I’ll clean house; let me do it!"

Yang Xinqi swiftly drew his dagger, a pained expression on his face. It saddened him slightly to kill someone he once saved, but he didn’t hesitate.

"What, what are you doing, Yang Xinqi, you said you wouldn’t do anything to harm a member, are you going to break your oath? The Lord will punish you!"

Seeing Yang Xinqi approach step by step, Meng Shihao was terrified, his face changing dramatically. He retreated while pleading, "No, don’t kill me. I was lying before; I know many secrets of Absolute Justice, I’ll tell you all of them. Please don’t kill me. If I die, Ding Wei won’t spare my mom, do you have the heart to see an old lady mistreated?"

"Damn it!"

Zhang Su was infuriated by Meng Shihao’s antics, and he drew a military knife with a clang, stepping forward, "Old Yang, step aside!"

Suddenly, he didn’t want to let Yang Xinqi have the chance to kill Meng Shihao. This bastard was truly hateful, spouting nonsense with twisted logic and being extremely self-centered, his vile nature ingrained to his core!

Today, if he couldn’t kill him personally, he’d feel uneasy.

"Your mom should see what you’ve become, you deserve to die!"

Zhang Su grabbed Meng Shihao’s messy hair, but unexpectedly, he quickly drew a three-inch fruit knife from his waist, and with a vicious look, stabbed toward him.

"Watch out!"

"Brother Su..."

"You can die too... ugh..."

Meng Shihao, looking frantic, tried to stab Zhang Su’s belly with the fruit knife, but it was like hitting a layer of hardened leather, failing to penetrate. With his limited strength, he couldn’t even push Zhang Su away.

Little did he know, Zhang Su had seen through his petty tricks long ago.

"I won’t die, but you will!"

There’s no way a small fruit knife could harm Zhang Su. He let Meng Shihao stab toward his chest and abdomen while his military knife flashed coldly across Meng Shihao’s neck, blood spraying out, splattering his own trouser leg with a forceful splash.

Thud...

The fruit knife dropped from Meng Shihao’s hand to the dirt, his clear yet cunning eyes gradually dimming, his throat cut. He wanted to say something but no longer had the chance, just opening and closing his mouth, striving to express something, but it was too late.

Plop.

In just a few seconds, from the massive blood loss, he was unable to deliver oxygen to his body, and he collapsed dead.

"Good, he’s dead, haha!"

"The beast is finally dead, to console our fallen brothers in heaven!"

"Hail to the leader for his wisdom!"

As everyone saw Meng Shihao’s dying struggle, even the once-weak women breathed a sigh of relief. After surviving four months in the apocalypse, escaping the jaws of zombies, they almost got killed by one of their own, making them reflect with mixed feelings.

"Fan Dahai, come give me a hand, drag this beast to the graves!"

Yang Xinqi admired Zhang Su’s decisiveness but knew he couldn’t be that straightforward. Still, there was work he could do.

"Alright!"

The Knight of Light, Fan Dahai, jumped over, and with Yang Xinqi, one grabbed the feet, the other the shoulders, and they carried Meng Shihao like a sacrificial rooster, blood dripping along the way, placing him in front of three rough graves.

"Hey, to be offerings for the three brothers, you’re dying where you should, bastard!"

Fan Dahai slapped the dead Meng Shihao, closing his unseeing eyes without any respect for the dead, as such respect holds no power over enemies!

With the spy eliminated, everyone’s mood instantly changed, clearly much lighter.

"Old Yang, how much do you know about Absolute Justice?"

Zhang Su looked at the chaos on West Ring Road and asked.

"Brother Su, the brothers are tired today. Maybe we should forget about those supplies; as long as everyone is safe, we can always get more stuff later. We can’t take risks."

Yang Xinqi knew Zhang Su planned to attack Absolute Justice while the momentum was high, but he thought the risk was too great.

Zhang Su waved his hand, shaking his head, "Whether we can reclaim our stuff is uncertain, but we need an explanation for today’s events!"

"From what I know, Absolute Justice has about fifty or so active members, possibly more, but their equipment is quite basic. You saw earlier, they don’t even have guns for half of them.

However... that guy, Brother Lei, unexpectedly had some explosives. From their reactions, it seemed not everyone knew about them, so it’s probably not common."

Yang Xinqi shared the information he knew with Zhang Su, but his face was still full of worry. The earlier battle, though brief, was far more dangerous than those in Beidong Town!

After hearing Yang Xinqi’s words, Zhang Su didn’t immediately respond. He knew the group was not in good shape today, but striking while the iron was hot, especially after almost losing all the supplies from the auto yard, the loss would be immense if they didn’t retrieve them.

However, just as he hesitated, the sun was suddenly blotted out by clouds, moving so fast there was hardly time to react.

"What’s happening..."

"Oh my god, look at those clouds, is a monster coming?!"

"Damn, the Old Dragon King is here... This is way too eerie!"

Everyone immediately noticed the anomaly in the sky. Clouds rolled up from the southeastern horizon, spreading with visible speed, their exact speed incalculable. In just four or five breaths, the sky had transformed from bright and sunny to dark and overcast.
