After teasing Li Sukuai with some information about Lie Kongzuo, Li Qian dropped the subject and began to look around at his surroundings.
It was his first time inside a space rift, and he found everything he saw and heard novel.
The scene inside the space rift was actually somewhat beyond his expectations.
It wasn’t the pitch-black darkness he had imagined.
There was light within the space rift—some dim, some hazy, some swirling—giving it a rather mysterious appearance.
Li Qian observed everything very carefully, then couldn’t help but murmur to himself, "Is this a High-dimensional Space?"
"No!"
Li Sukuai smiled and looked at Li Qian. "The place we’re in now is indeed inside a space rift, but it’s not a High-dimensional Space."
"This is just the inside of an ordinary space rift."
"*That* is the High-dimensional Space."
Li Sukuai continued to explain, pointing above his head.
Above them, the silver-white butterfly had changed its form.
Its appearance was still the same—no change there—but its size had undergone a monumental transformation.
The silver-white butterfly was no longer the size of a ball; now, just one of its wings was estimated to be over a hundred meters long.
In terms of size alone, it was several times larger than even Xiaohui.
At this very moment, the enormous, magnificent, and breathtaking butterfly was flapping its wings, scattering showers of brilliant light.
Li Qian, Xiaohui, and Li Sukuai were all bathed in this brilliant glow.
Through the gaps between the giant butterfly’s wings, Li Qian saw an even more magnificent sight.
In the dim Chaotic Space, countless motes of light—large and small, bright and dark, in all sorts of colors—floated and filled the void. It looked just like... a brilliant, starry sky.
Gazing at such a magnificent and mystical scene of the void, Li Qian was momentarily lost in a daze.
"This High-dimensional Space looks like..." he couldn’t help but murmur aloud.
"Like a starry sky, right?" Li Sukuai said with a smile, as if he had read Li Qian’s mind.
"Yes, it really does look like a starry sky." Li Qian nodded in agreement.
Hearing this, the smile on Li Sukuai’s face grew wider. "Then how can you be so sure that the starry sky we see isn’t just another High-dimensional Space?"
"This..." Li Sukuai’s words rang in Li Qian’s mind like a sudden, solemn bell.
’Could the starry sky we see be another High-dimensional Space?’
Li Qian fell into deep thought. He didn’t ask the question out loud.
Li Sukuai, it seemed, had no intention of elaborating either.
After dropping that cryptic sentence, he gave a light wave of his hand.
With his light wave, the giant silver-white butterfly flapped its wings fiercely, scattering more brilliant light that enveloped Xiaohui, Li Qian, and Li Sukuai, carrying the two humans and one beast rapidly upward.
Wrapped in the brilliant glow, the group ascended at an incredible speed, piercing through some kind of canopy above them in the blink of an eye.
Before Li Qian could even react, the two humans and one beast had leaped out and appeared in front of one of the silver-white motes of light.
"Hmph, what a bunch of annoying pests!" After leaping in front of the silver-white mote of light, Li Sukuai didn’t act immediately.
After sensing something, he snorted coldly, his gaze suddenly turning frigid.
Before Li Qian could process what was happening, Li Sukuai waved his hand again. "Ah Die, take out the trash."
At Li Sukuai’s command, the giant butterfly in the air immediately took action.
It abruptly flapped its wings, sending out a crescent-shaped, translucent blade. The blade was shaped like a scimitar.
The scimitar flew toward a certain direction in the High-dimensional Space with the speed of a lightning bolt.
SCHLICK!
SCHLICK!
The scimitar-like blade swept through that area.
From that area, the sound of a blade slicing into flesh was heard twice in an instant.
Immediately after, two blossoms of blood suddenly erupted in the void.
Li Qian’s eyes narrowed as he saw the two blossoms of blood suddenly erupt.
’What was that?’
’Were those the "pests" Li Sukuai mentioned?’
’Why would creatures like that appear in a High-dimensional Space?’
’Are they Pet Beasts too?’
Witnessing such a bizarre scene, all sorts of thoughts, speculations, and questions instantly flooded Li Qian’s mind.
"Let’s go." After casually dispatching two unknown Pet Beasts hidden in the High-dimensional Space, Li Sukuai immediately retracted his sharp aura, his tone softening.
Li Qian hesitated for a moment. He thought about it, but in the end, he didn’t ask.
’He knew that Li Sukuai’s actions today had only revealed the tip of the iceberg of this mystical world.’
’For someone at his current level, knowing the secrets hidden within would do more harm than good.’
So he restrained his curiosity and remained silent.
Besides, Li Qian knew that if Li Sukuai wanted him to know the truth of it all, he would have brought it up himself.
Since he hadn’t, it meant that for Li Qian, ignorance was bliss.
As Li Sukuai’s voice fell, the giant silver-white butterfly once again flapped its wings forcefully.
As its wings beat, the brilliant silver-white light began to gather, and in the blink of an eye, another pitch-black space rift appeared before Li Qian.
Li Sukuai stepped aside, clearing the path, and Li Qian instantly understood his meaning.
Without hesitation, he stepped directly into the newly appeared space rift.
Li Qian stepped into the space rift, and in the next moment, his figure vanished.
After Li Qian had left, Li Sukuai suddenly turned his head and gave a long, deep look in the direction where the blossoms of blood had erupted.
Gazing at the blood and smelling the faint, spreading scent of gore, Li Sukuai’s brow furrowed, a deep worry appearing in his eyes.
After a moment’s gaze, Li Sukuai beckoned with his hand without hesitation.
The giant silver-white butterfly instantly shrank to the size of a fist and landed gently on Li Sukuai’s shoulder.
Having done this, he strode forward and followed him into the space rift.
A single step, and the world changed.
In the blink of an eye, Li Qian was back in the real world, the scene before him returning to a familiar sight.
This was an office, and a rather spacious one at that. A desk was placed in the middle of the room, upon which sat an enamel teacup.
Li Qian could even see steam rising from it, which showed that the owner of this place hadn’t been gone for long.
"What do you think of my office?" Li Sukuai’s voice sounded from behind Li Qian.
Li Qian didn’t turn around, but simply nodded. "It’s very nice. Very spacious."
"Elder Li, I still have things to attend to. If you don’t have any other instructions for me, I’ll take my leave now." Li Qian spoke as if nothing out of the ordinary had just happened, preparing to depart.
Hearing this, the look of admiration in Li Sukuai’s eyes grew even stronger.
’He knows when to advance and when to retreat, what to ask and what not to ask. To have such a temperament at his age is truly rare.’
’In truth, there were some things he could have told Li Qian, but since the young man chose to remain discreet, he naturally wouldn’t bring them up himself.’
Li Sukuai nodded. Just as Li Qian was about to leave, he suddenly spoke up with a reminder, "Those things are Void Blood Bats. If you encounter them in the future, be extra careful. Individually, they aren’t strong, but they tend to appear in swarms."
"Thank you!" Hearing this, Li Qian’s stride faltered for a moment. He didn’t turn back, but after dropping that one word, he pushed the office door open.
After pushing the door open, he was dumbfounded. Outside, there were actually three diverging paths. Which way was he supposed to go?
Fortunately, just then, the voice from behind him sounded again, saving him from his embarrassment. "Turn right after you exit."
Li Qian stumbled slightly, then immediately headed to the right.
’My exit was so cool and suave, but I can’t believe I forgot to ask for directions beforehand.’
’What a blunder!’
’A real blunder!’
