1 year later..
I inhailed New York's air and I felt home. I missed New York a lot after staying at Brighton for quite long. I really took a break from everything.. having 1 year to build a new chapter of life is just the best feeling.
"What are you thinking?" I turned to my brother who was currently driving.
"Thinking how much I miss you Lukey!" I chuckled and turned to him.
"Gross.”
"Don't be like that Luke, you love me and you miss me! Admit it will you?" I teased him and I got a glare from him.”
"You're such a baby.”
"I'm not a baby, Luke. I'm almost 26 smart head."
"Yeahyeah whatever.. oh yeah by the way.. uhmm." I looked at him weirdly.
"What are you trying to say?"
"I need to go to Max's office to take a file there since he can't give it to me. He's in Mexico right now." I nodded.
"What do you mean by nodding?"
"Okay.”
"So how's the hotel there?" He asked.”
"Good as always.. you know I always do a good job Luke." I rolled my eyes, he always asked that when we're on the phone. I wanted to smack his head for asking that around 5 times every time we call. He's annoying and I wonder when will he get a girl who can tame him?
"I'm just worried.”
"You worried about the hotel more than your own sister? Unbelievable!" I hissed and he chuckled.
"Geez sis. I care about you too of course.. so how are you?"
"Stupid." I mumbled and he flicked hard my arm, I groaned in pain and punched his arm.
"What are you 5?"
"We fight a lot when we were 5.”
"Are you that stupid Luke.. when you're 5 I was 1, asshole dumbass." I said and he laughed.
"You already poked my eyes when you were 1.. I cried a lot because of you.”
"Way the go creating stories brother because I'm a good girl, you're the one who poked my eyes." I hissed and he laughed.
"Good to know you're back for good sis.” He ruffled my hair and I sighed looking at his act.
"Should I get you a girl?"
"Getting whip? Oh please no!" He said.
"I swear Luke. I need someone to tame your stupid head." I poked his forehead and he pushed my hand away. I laughed.
"Look at the mirror.. I'm smarter than you idiot.”
"Excuse me? You got an F on English.. English.. which is your first language.. I don't understand your brain." I looked at him laughing.
"I slept when I did that exam!”
"What a beautiful excuse.. it's because you're not smart a.k.a stupid idiot." I teased and he hissed.
"Oh really? I remembered that you answer 4+4 is 10. now who's brain is awful.. you can't even add that." Luke turned to me and laughed. I hissed at him annoy.
"I was drunk.”
"Great excuse sis. You answered that when you're on 3rd grade.. drunk?!? Yeah drunk drinking milk." He laughed his butt off and I smacked his arm hard. He groaned in pain.
After that we arrived at Max's office and Luke got out from the car to go upstairs taking some files. I waited on the car and started scanning my instagram and all the social media.
Not long after that I got a call from Luke and I raised my eyebrows.
"What?" I answered.
"I left my gold card somewhere.. can you check it on the car?" He said and I looked all over the car. I tried to find on his side door. Stupid him.. who puts a card on the slip on the car door? Oh my.. why do I have a stupid brother? He might be good in business but.. stupid in person.
"You freaking put it on a slip of your door." I bursted annoy.
"I was drunk maybe.. can you bring it up here?" I rolled my eyes and took the car keys. Since Max is not here so I can go inside. I got off from the car and walked to the lift. I pressed the button and waited for awhile for the lift to arrive. I got inside the lift and went up.
"Why are you so stupid?" I asked as I got off from the lift and handed Luke his card. He walked away to Max's office and I just waited outside. I looked around his office and nothing change.. still the same.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Hastington.” Someone greeted me nicely and I smiled.
"Are you new here?" I asked and he politely nodded.
"I'm Cody Peront, Mr. Cesantio's secretary." He introduced himself and I shook his hand. My eyes widen when I realize what he said, I looked up to him.
"Max's secretary? A guy?"
"I'm afraid yes miss." He smiled and I nodded, he excused himself. I started to walk around and suddenly feel so bored. Why is Luke taking so long? I walked into Max's office and quite shocked to see everything changes. The wallpaper, the arrangement and just it's more alive.
I walked inside his office, just by walking around already made my heart beating so fast and I saw Luke was running through some brown envelope.
"Did you find it?" I asked.
"He said it's on his desk.”
"What's the file name?"
"New Project." He said and I walked to his desk to help Luke find it but suddenly I saw my photos on his desk. I looked at it disbelief and speechless. There's a photo of me smiling while I was riding a bike. A photo of me attending a cooking class with Miss June, a photo of me talking with my friends, a photo of me sitting on the beach drinking hot coco and a photo of me buying groceries on the market.
"Help me Ros-" I kept looking at it and this photos are all when I'm at Brighton. He still stalked me?
"Luke." I called him.
"You're not suppose to come here.. how can I forget?" He dragged me out from the office and I gulped.
"Miss, do you want a coffee or sho-"
"No thanks." I cut him and he nodded politely and left. I sat on l one of the sofa and there's so many things in my head after I saw that photos.
"Let's go." Luke said as he got the file, we walked to the lift and got inside.
"You're not suppose to see that.”
"I know." I nodded, "You're stupid Luke." I added.
"I admit that.”
