Chapter 1091 Month

The day gradually came to an end, and before either of them realized it, night had quietly blanketed the city. Neither Clark nor Makena paid any attention to the passing hours.

Ever since Makena had practically jumped over Clark’s extremely big bone, it was as though they wanted to make up for all the time they had spent apart not knowing each other before this day of great intimate romance.

They laughed together, whispered to one another, and remained in each other’s embrace for what felt like an eternity.

By the time the moon reached its highest point in the sky, Makena had completely exhausted herself.

"Ahhh..."

She let out one final cry before collapsing onto the bed, her body no longer able to keep up with her emotions.

Her breathing slowly steadied as she drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep, a content smile still lingering on her face. Clark looked at her quietly.

A gentle smile spread across his own face as he brushed a few loose strands of hair away from her forehead.

"I’ve never seen someone sleep so peacefully," he murmured. For several moments, he simply admired her sleeping expression.

Despite everything that had happened between them, she looked completely at ease, trusting him without the slightest hesitation. Clark couldn’t help but chuckle.

"I suppose... if I’m going to remain in this world for a long time, I’ll need more than one companion to share that journey with."

It was merely a passing thought, one he neither acted upon nor dwelled on for long.

He gently covered Makena with a blanket before lying down beside her. It was also around this time that Clark received an updated notification from his system.

Ding!

Authority Quest Progress: 1/1000

Looking at the notification floating before him, Clark couldn’t help but stare for a moment before letting out a small chuckle.

"Well... at least I managed to complete one." He leaned back with a relaxed expression as he looked at the remaining number.

"Only 999 more women to go." The thought alone was enough to make him shake his head in amusement. A thousand women... That was not a small number by any means.

Even imagining the scene after completing the quest was already ridiculous.

Having a thousand women connected to him, each with their own personalities, backgrounds, and stories, would certainly create a situation unlike anything he had ever experienced.

"Now that would definitely be a sight to see." Clark laughed softly.

Of course, he knew the quest would not be completed overnight. Stealing women, gaining trust, and meeting people worthy of standing by his side would take time.

But that was exactly what made it interesting. After all, the journey itself was just as important as the destination. For now, he was satisfied with the progress he had made.

One step had already been taken. The remaining 999 steps could come later. The room soon fell silent, and not long afterward, sleep claimed him as well.

***

The days that followed passed surprisingly quickly. One day became three. Three days became a week. Before either of them noticed, an entire month had slipped by.

Throughout that month, Clark and Makena were almost inseparable. They fucked all the time when they had the chance. The passion between them never faded.

Whenever they found themselves alone, they eagerly embraced the opportunity to express the affection they felt for one another.

Their longing only seemed to grow stronger as the weeks passed, making every reunion feel as exciting as the first. Even during working hours, they found excuses to be near each other.

But what was most interesting was that they kept it all a secret. By the end of the month, their relationship had grown stronger than ever.

What had begun as simple attraction had blossomed into genuine trust, companionship, and unwavering devotion. And of course, it didn’t take long for people to notice the change.

After all, Makena Davis had always been a beautiful woman.

She was elegant, confident, and carried herself with the grace of someone who knew exactly who she was. Her beauty had always turned heads wherever she went.

But lately... She seemed to be glowing.

It wasn’t merely her appearance. Her smile had become warmer, her eyes sparkled with happiness, and even the cold, businesslike aura she usually carried had softened considerably.

One morning, several soldiers gathered around the coffee machine before work.

"Wow... doesn’t the boss look even more beautiful these days?" one of the women whispered.

"I was just thinking the same thing," another replied with an astonished expression. "I can’t believe how much she’s changed in just a month."

"It’s not just her looks," a male soldier chimed in. "She’s smiling a lot more now."

"And have you noticed? She hasn’t scolded anyone in weeks."

"You’re right! Even when the armory department made that mistake yesterday, she simply smiled and asked them to correct it." Everyone found that almost unbelievable.

The old Makena Davis was famous for her professionalism and strict standards. She was a perfectionist. The new Makena Davis still expected excellence, but there was now a gentle warmth behind her words.

Someone suddenly grinned mischievously.

"She’s probably getting spoiled by her fiancee."

Several people nodded in agreement.

"That would explain it."

"But wait..." another person interrupted. "Isn’t her fiancé living in another world altogether? I heard they’re in a long-distance relationship."

The room fell silent.

"Then perhaps..."

The soldiers exchanged knowing looks before their imaginations began running wild.

"Maybe he’s been secretly visiting her."

"Or maybe she goes to see him every weekend."

"No, no. I bet they’re planning their wedding."

"What if they’ve already started living together?"

"Could she be...?"

Before the woman could finish her sentence, another quickly covered her mouth.

"Don’t say it! That’s way too personal."

The group burst into laughter.

Naturally, none of them knew the truth. They could only speculate endlessly, each person coming up with an even more outrageous theory than the last.

Meanwhile, Makena walked through the office corridors completely unaware or perhaps simply pretending not to notice the countless curious gazes directed at her.

Everywhere she went, people smiled politely before quietly whispering among themselves the moment she passed by.

The gossip spread from one department to another, eventually reaching almost everyone in the agency.

For a very long time afterward, the soldiers continued creating countless theories about what had transformed the normally composed and elegant Makena Davis into someone who bloomed like a flower in spring.

None of them realized that the answer was much simpler than they imagined. She had simply fallen deeply in love and was satisfied by Clark’s big long tool day in and day out.
