Just thinking about it, the police officer arrived.
The female passenger immediately went up to the officer to complain about Yang Chen sexually harassing her.
The police officer checked Yang Chen’s ID and then asked, "What’s going on here? Why aren’t you driving properly, and what’s with this stuff?"
Yang Chen quickly explained, "This stuff isn’t mine. As soon as she got in the car, she pulled out this thing saying I was sexually harassing her. She threatened me to either dispose of it with her or she’d call the police. To be honest, she’s not very attractive, I couldn’t bring myself to comply, so I refused, and she called the police."
Female passenger: "Who are you calling unattractive? I may not have a celebrity face, but I’m not ugly, right? Don’t think you can humiliate me just because you’re handsome. Everyone is equal before the law; it’s not going to be biased towards you because of your looks."
The police officer was speechless and said, "Driver, how can you prove your innocence?"
Yang Chen: "How can she prove it’s mine?"
Police officer: "Well, whoever claims must provide evidence. She needs to prove this thing is yours, and you need to prove you didn’t put it there."
Female passenger: "Anyway, I found it on the seat. How could a single girl like me possibly carry such a thing?"
Yang Chen: "I never use that either, and it’s impossible that I brought it. If it’s still unresolved, let’s check the in-car footage."
With that, Yang Chen retrieved the surveillance footage.
The video showed that before the female passenger got in, the item was already on the seat.
The female passenger immediately said excitedly, "See? See? Anything else to say? I told you it was on the seat when I got in. Hmph! How will you defend yourself now?"
Yang Chen: "But it’s really not mine. Wait, I’ll check the footage of the previous passenger."
Yang Chen then found footage of the previous passenger, a seemingly honest and introverted female passenger. Before she got in, the seat was clear, but the item was left behind when she got out. It was obviously hers.
Police officer: "So it was hers! You see, it was just a misunderstanding between you two. It’s no big deal, just apologize to each other, alright?"
Yang Chen, not wanting to argue further, nodded and said, "Sorry, miss. I got upset and said those things. It really wasn’t me who placed it there; I thought you were deliberately causing trouble."
Female passenger: "I didn’t know it was left by the previous passenger and misunderstood you. My apologies. Now, take me to my destination, and let’s put this behind us."
Yang Chen nodded and said to the police officer, "Sorry to have disturbed you all this late. You can leave now, everything’s fine here."
The police officer nodded and said, "Alright. Communicate more in the future; young people shouldn’t get so easily upset. Isn’t it embarrassing when misunderstandings happen?"
Yang Chen and the female passenger both nodded to show they accepted the advice.
Just then, the honest and introverted female passenger came rushing over with a man.
"Driver, driver! Wait a minute!" the honest passenger shouted.
Yang Chen’s eyes lit up, and he whispered, "No way, could they really want that item back? Sorry, miss, please give it to me so I can return it."
The female passenger nodded and quickly handed the item to Yang Chen.
Yang Chen held it out the car window and said, "Miss, you’re here for this, right?"
The honest female passenger was stunned, blushed, and replied, "What... what do you mean by this? What is this thing?"
Oh, what does this mean?
Yang Chen replied, "Aren’t you back for this item?"
The female passenger in the car complained, "Do you know that because you left this, I and the driver had to call the police?"
The honest female passenger immediately replied, "What? Don’t say things like that! Whose is it? Why push it on me?"
The nearby police officer laughed and said, "Miss, this item is indeed something you left behind. We saw it clearly on the in-car monitor. Before you got in, the seat was empty, and after you exited, the item was left there. Then this other female passenger got in and misunderstood."
The honest female passenger’s male companion immediately questioned, "What’s going on? How could you carry such an item? What did you do today?"
Honest female passenger: "Oh, I told you I went to the gym."
Male companion: "The gym? You take this with you to the gym? Wow, you said you lost your wallet, and now it turns out you also lost this! You better explain, or I’ll damn well end you!"
Seeing things about to get out of hand, the police officer quickly stepped in and separated the two.
Yang Chen thought this was about to become a family drama, so he unbuckled his seatbelt, opened a drink, and watched.
"Miss, are you in a rush? If not, grab a drink and watch for a bit," Yang Chen said.
The female passenger laughed and said, "If I go home late, I’ll just sleep a bit later. TV dramas aren’t as entertaining as this. Let’s watch for a bit, no rush."
Yang Chen took a sip of Red Bull and said, "Looks like such an honest woman, how could she do such a thing behind her husband’s back?"
Female passenger: "You can tell you don’t understand women. The more seemingly honest they are, the easier they’re led astray. Women like me who are open and straightforward, once in love, are absolutely devoted. How about it? Want to find a place to chat?"
Yang Chen: "Sis, stop teasing me. I’m still a virgin. Watching the show, watching the show."
