Chapter 717 - 672 Temptation 3

"Stop!"

Just as Zhang Rongfang pulled Di Mo closer to his chest.

A cylindrical beam of light, formed by an invisible wave, suddenly erupted from the ground beneath his feet.

The beam shot upwards, aiming precisely at Zhang Rongfang.

Originally targeting his feet and torso, Zhang Rongfang managed to dodge slightly at the last moment.

Poof!

The beam grazed his nose, shooting into the sky and disappearing.

"..." Zhang Rongfang took a step back and touched the tip of his nose where the beam had grazed.

The flesh at the tip of his nose had completely vanished.

This beam... was similar to the decaying black hands he encountered in the Sea of Oblivion.

Both would cause any part they touched to vanish instantly.

If the Eternal Palace Master, Ra, was indeed one of the designers of the ancient Divine Plan, perhaps all of this made sense.

Zhang Rongfang stood still, gazing distantly toward the direction of the Eternal Tower.

"I’ve stopped, I’ve stopped." He raised both hands, indicating that he was persuaded and had really ceased his actions.

Underneath the Eternal Tower.

A bald woman, dressed in a black metal corset, slowly emerged from the main gate.

The woman had no eyebrows, and her eyes gleamed with a faint silvery-white light, giving off an inexplicable ferocity.

She glanced at Di Mo, who stood there motionless.

"Di Mo, come here."

Di Mo remained still, as if he hadn’t heard anything.

The woman’s expression changed. She raised her hand and made a grasping motion from afar.

An invisible wave instantly enveloped Di Mo, covering him suddenly.

In an instant, Di Mo disappeared from where he stood and reappeared on the open space beside the woman.

The woman stepped forward and pressed her hand against Di Mo.

Di Mo’s entire body seemed unable to withstand the slightest bit of force, gradually tilting and falling to the ground.

Thud.

The massive, crystal-covered body began to shrink rapidly on the ground, returning to its initial state.

Di Mo’s eyes were lifeless, devoid of vitality, quietly lying on the ground.

The bald woman withdrew her hand, and the silver light in her eyes flickered violently.

"Dead?!"

She looked up at Zhang Rongfang, only to find him casually toying with a green diamond-shaped crystal.

The crystal gave her a sensation very similar to Di Mo.

"Is it a technique for extracting spiritual consciousness?" The bald woman’s gaze cooled.

She raised her hand.

Immediately, a team of stone statue troops quickly surrounded Zhang Rongfang once more.

Everyone clenched their teeth, remaining where they stood, their hearts shining with a dazzling light, a full power burst from the Heart-Burning Furnace.

"I was careless... Stranger, tell me your purpose here!" The bald woman said in a deep voice, looking at Zhang Rongfang.

With the death of a capable subordinate, she could finally speak properly.

"Purpose?" Zhang Rongfang looked around. "I just want to see what this world has become. Passing through here was just incidental. Unfortunately..."

He paused.

"Unfortunately, it seems you’re not very welcoming."

"Welcoming?" The silver light in Ra’s eyes flickered slightly. "You attempted to infiltrate under disguise; how should I welcome you?"

"But I just infiltrated without intending to do anything bad," Zhang Rongfang sighed.

"Return Di Mo’s consciousness to me, and I can promise you one condition," Ra said, suppressing her anger.

A body can be rebuilt, but spiritual consciousness is irreplaceable and must be retrieved.

If she had known from the start that the other party possessed such a technique for extracting and imprisoning consciousness, she would never have allowed Di Mo and others to go forward for a probing confrontation.

But now, it’s too late to reconsider anything.

The Spirit Eye Race’s pinnacle technology of spiritual transfer in past years had been casually recreated on a stranger here.

This was simply unbelievable!

Ra had some doubts in her heart, but the crystal in the stranger’s hand constantly emitted Di Mo’s consciousness signals.

She couldn’t help but believe it.

"Condition..." Zhang Rongfang squinted his eyes. "I want all the fundamental information about this land. You must have it here, right?"

The spiritual consciousness crystal in his hand was not important to him; it could only slightly enhance his spiritual strength.

But his purpose on this trip was to clearly understand what this world had become.

So this crystal didn’t matter.

Achieving his goal was crucial.

"Yes."

Ra was slightly taken aback, then quickly nodded.

"It’s in the tower; dare you come inside?"

"Why wouldn’t I dare?" Zhang Rongfang gripped the crystal in his hand and stepped forward towards the Eternal Tower.

Now, the most important thing for him was to gather as much information as possible, rather than wandering around aimlessly like a headless fly.

"Since you’re not afraid, then come," Ra said, laying a hand on Di Mo, taking a deep look at Zhang Rongfang.

Psht!

Instantly, she vanished along with Di Mo.

No footprints, no flying, no residual shadows of high-speed movement, just simply disappeared.

As if erased from existence.

Zhang Rongfang stopped and raised an eyebrow, his dark vision allowing him to see every detail clearly.

It wasn’t movement, it wasn’t flight...

"Is it purely space teleportation?"

His heart tightened as he looked around at the remaining stone statue troops.

Yet wherever his gaze landed, all the gargoyle members lowered their heads and retreated, not daring to make eye contact.

The large crater from the recent fierce battle remained to the side, and Di Mo, one of the army’s two top executives, had also been defeated.

Sending anyone else would be pointless, merely offering themselves up.

Zhang Rongfang looked around and surprisingly found that Laf had already disappeared, presumably escaped.

Not only that, but the few brigades that had been watching the commotion around had quietly distanced themselves, clearly afraid of being implicated.

’The victor is me, so, are they afraid of being angered by the Eternal Palace?’ Zhang Rongfang understood in his heart.

Immediately he stepped forward, crossing a large distance in the blink of an eye, standing in front of the leaning high tower.

Outside the Eternal Tower, blue arcs of electricity were continuously flowing, and there was a huge round door at the bottom for entry and exit.

Inside the round door was a scene of hazy mist.

Even Zhang Rongfang’s dim light vision couldn’t penetrate the mist to see inside clearly.

"All the data and information you want are here, come in." Laf’s voice floated out from inside.

Zhang Rongfang stood in front of the door, paused, and gazed at the round door.

Suddenly, he smirked and stepped forward.

Hoo.

His toe stopped in mid-air, only a few centimeters from the round door, not stepping further down.

"It seems you’re not planning to exchange then."

He looked up towards the inside of the door. There a vague humanoid shape could be seen.

"Exchange naturally requires a trade... but first, you need to be capable of walking alive through this door!"

Laf’s voice echoed.

Thud!!

Suddenly, before the sound of the words finished, the blurry twist inside the round door bulged abruptly.

It was like a layer of gelatinous rise, instantly shooting out a dense mass of transparent spikes.

The spikes fell rapidly on Zhang Rongfang like raindrops, alive.

His bat wings shielded in front, but to no avail.

Whether bat wings or his steel-reinforced skin achieved through tempering.

Under these spikes, they were like paper, instantly pierced through, flying out from behind.

In the dense sound of piercing, Zhang Rongfang stood on the spot, his huge body rapidly covered with numerous holes.

"What... is this!?"

His face was also pierced with dozens of finger-thick holes, making his voice hoarse and strange.

"Quite simple." Laf appeared out of thin air beside him, gently taking away the crystal in his hand.

"This is a transfer."

She looked coldly at the green crystal in her hand.

"What I practice is one of the highest crystallizations in the entire Eternal Palace, the Martial Arts Atlas—Kongxiang Extinction."

"No matter what means you have, what skills, regardless of how strong you are. Under my Kongxiang Extinction, it’s all in vain."

Laf looked at Zhang Rongfang.

"So...." She raised her finger, aiming at his forehead.

"You shouldn’t come too close to me....."

Thud!!

In an instant, a formless impact landed instantly on Zhang Rongfang’s head.

The impact was like an eraser, swiftly shearing off half of Zhang Rongfang’s head.

"It’s over." Laf watched as his body slowly fell backward, her expression cold.

"Extinction."

She pressed down her finger.

Silently, vast invisible spikes exploded abruptly inside Zhang Rongfang.

Where the spikes passed, all flesh and blood disappeared out of thin air.

In just a second, half of his enormous body vanished, rapidly shriveled.

With a swish, his entire body burst, collapsed, dissolved, turning into a pool of pure flesh.

Laf no longer looked at the ground.

"Someone clean this up." She commanded, stepping into the round door of the tower.

Di Mo’s strength was still insufficient; she needed more and stronger subordinates, otherwise, she’d have to handle everything herself, then why conduct research at all?

"This place looks very good."

Suddenly a voice sounded unexpectedly behind her.

Laf halted sharply, twisting to look around.

Unnoticed when, on one side inside the round door, stood a familiar figure.

A blood-red robe, pale skin, eyes glowing red.

It was the very Zhang Rongfang who should have died just now!!

"You!!?" Laf’s heart surged with storms of shock. "What is this ability!?"

A person who clearly should be dead, completely restored without a scratch?

"Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown, Five Qi Towards the Origin. Have you heard of it?" Zhang Rongfang’s skin was once again covered with patterns, his physique rapidly swelling, enlarging.

"Before a Human Immortal, even gods and Buddhas bow their heads!"

"Human Immortal?" Silver light flashed in Laf’s eyes, she stepped forward sharply, her body disappearing instantaneously.

Reappearing, she was already in mid-air on Zhang Rongfang’s right side.

Thud!!

Both clashed with their palms simultaneously.

Zhang Rongfang’s entire arm vanished into thin air.

But his chest, abdomen, back, neck, all grew numerous new arms.

Countless arms, either fists, fingers, or palms, instantly executed all Martial Arts killer moves of Great Dao Teaching.

Different properties, differing weights, the uncertainty of substance or void, all the forces poured down like rain on Laf’s body.

Boom!!!

Laf’s palm struck again at Zhang Rongfang’s torso center, creating a large hole.

Yet, Zhang Rongfang’s arms all landed on Laf’s body center.

The odd thing was his arms seemed to be hitting an indestructible invisible wall.

Under the thunderous sound, Laf was knocked back several meters by the immense force, her eyes gleaming silver.

And the hole in Zhang Rongfang’s torso healed rapidly, returning to normal.

At this moment, his life value exceeding three thousand concealed a terrifying vitality within his body. Even without replenishment from Essence Qi of the world, he could regenerate dozens of times on his own.
