Chu Lingguang hoisted Eunuch Liu onto his back.
BOOM!
Then, he shot up the secret passage.
Having reached the True Martial Realm, Chu Lingguang’s body was undergoing a complete transformation. He finally understood why he had been so easily defeated by Yan Zhen and the others during the final round of the Palace Examination.
If not for his mastery of the Flesh and Blood Divine Abilities, which allowed him to bypass their defenses and attack their internal organs, he wouldn’t have even been qualified to challenge them.
BOOM!
Every step Chu Lingguang landed on collapsed under his feet.
With his powerful Consciousness Power, Chu Lingguang sensed that the pirates of Xiazigou had already discovered their leader was dead.
The secret passage was deep, but the commotion from the power unleashed by the Cloud Mist Flood Dragon was so great that it made the entire stone cavern tremble. Sensing something was wrong, the pirates steeled themselves and came in to investigate.
Although the fluctuations from the Ruby blocked the way outside the stone room, among the thousands of pirates, some were able to withstand the interference for a short while.
They pushed open the stone door to find the stone bed shattered. A bottomless secret passage appeared before them, showing signs of a fight. One by one, they charged into the passage.
They quickly spotted the corpse of their leader lodged above them.
"Who’s there?"
"Something’s coming up!"
The pirates blocking the secret passage heard the noise.
They held lit torches and various weapons.
From the depths of the passage, a figure shot upward like a nocturnal beast. Before they could even get a clear look at his face, he thrust his spear from afar.
Everyone’s Qi Blood surged uncontrollably toward their internal organs, gathering like a fist and hammering against their hearts.
At the same time, a hurricane raged up from below.
A terrifying Wind and Wave Power slammed into the men, who were already reeling from the blow to their chests. It sent them flying, tumbling down the passage. Some even fell from the very top to the bottom, where they were smashed into a meat paste.
"The True Martial Realm?"
"Who in the hell is he?"
"Fire!"
"Burn him alive!"
The pirates descended into chaos. A group at the top, heedless of their comrades’ lives, fired arrows down into the passage. They even poured liquor, hoping to burn Chu Lingguang alive.
But the man below was like a primordial beast. In the narrow confines of the passage, he moved as if it were an open field. Even experts at Qi Sea Perfection were shattered by his Spear Intent Fluctuation.
It seemed no one could withstand two strikes from his spear.
SPLAT!
An arrow of blood shot out from the passage entrance below the stone bed, gushing like a fountain.
A figure carrying a small old man on his back launched himself up from below, landing in full view of everyone.
It was Chu Lingguang.
"Who are you?"
one of the pirate chieftains asked.
"The man who’s here to kill you."
Chu Lingguang shot toward the crowd. He plucked the Rubies from the walls, stuffed them into a special cloth bag, and with Eunuch Liu on his back, carved a bloody path out of the stone cavern.
He left no survivors in his wake.
His powerful Spear Stance covered a five-meter radius. Within it, the gleam of a spear was faintly condensing, and even a Spear Intent Fluctuation began to take shape on its own.
"True Martial Realm!"
"Kill him! All of you!"
"He killed our leader!"
"Avenge our leader!"
These pirates were utterly vicious. They were used to being the ones doing the bullying; they couldn’t stand someone coming to their territory on a killing spree. Chu Lingguang’s swift and deadly Spear Technique didn’t intimidate them. On the contrary, it ignited their bloodlust, and they charged forward, one wave after another.
"Anyone who stands in my way dies!"
Chu Lingguang plowed a straight path forward, avoiding encirclement. Relying on his memory, he raced back the way he came.
WOOOOOOO!
The pirates sounded their horns. Checkpoints along the path were put on high alert, and swarms of men rushed toward Chu Lingguang’s position.
"That’s their boat."
"Guard it."
The pirates below deciphered the information from the horn calls and found the small boat Chu Lingguang and Eunuch Liu had docked near the port.
"Don’t go for our boat. Steal a small one and get out of here."
Eunuch Liu urged from his back.
He knew that once the pirates discovered their location, the way down would surely be blocked. Since they had to go back the way they came, their only option was to rely on Chu Lingguang to fight their way through.
He knew pirates well enough to predict they would search the area below for accomplices and quickly find the spot where they had come ashore.
"Right."
Chu Lingguang knew Eunuch Liu’s thinking was sound.
Relying on his forty-six streams of Fierce Tiger Power, a casual sweep of Chu Lingguang’s spear could claim several lives. Often, before an encirclement could even form, he had already broken through or escaped it.
The pirates, realizing they couldn’t stop him on the mountaintop, continued sounding their horns. They intended to use the terrain on the path down the mountain to corner him, leaving him with no escape.
Unfortunately for them, while the narrow terrain hindered Chu Lingguang, it hindered the pirates just as much.
An entire group of them couldn’t stop him.
A small detachment stood no chance at all.
Their only recourse was to use traps, mechanisms, poisoned arrows, and other toxins to try and take Chu Lingguang down.
But under the perception of Chu Lingguang’s powerful Sea of Consciousness Power, the pirates’ schemes were utterly useless. Even hidden archers couldn’t pierce his Divine Defense.
And so, like a killing machine, Chu Lingguang carried Eunuch Liu on his back and slaughtered his way up from the secret passage, into the stone cavern, out of the cavern, and from the peak of the mountain all the way down to its base.
He lost count of how many men he had killed.
He only knew that the thousand-strong pirate crew was far larger than he had imagined; it felt as if their numbers were endless.
An unknown amount of time passed.
Chu Lingguang cut a path from the mountaintop all the way to the port. Spotting a small boat moored between the larger ships, he leaped aboard with Eunuch Liu on his back.
