Chapter 601 - 249: Xiao Jun, the Heart is in the Vines

Everyone held their breath.

The young man was so powerful it was suffocating.

Yang Lijun, who had been on the verge of death, seemed to be clinging to her last breath under the pressure of his aura, but her expression was one of extreme agony.

The young man walked toward Yang Lijun, one step at a time.

The wooden box was thrown to the ground.

Everyone saw that inside the wooden box was a bloody, violently throbbing meridian.

It looked as if it had been extracted from a Wolf Demon.

The aura that had attracted the great pack of Wolf Demons was the residual aura on the meridian.

"Where is it?"

the young man asked.

"I don’t know."

Yang Lijun said with difficulty.

Seeing her in such agony, Mo Shan and his three brothers felt great sympathy, but they didn’t dare make a reckless move in front of the young man.

"SPURT!"

Yang Lijun spat out a mouthful of blood, her face contorting as if she were about to be crushed.

But she clenched her jaw tightly.

She didn’t make another sound.

"BOOM!"

With a loud bang, Yang Lijun exploded into a mist of blood, crushed by the young man’s Telekinesis.

Everyone was shaken to their core.

They stared at the young man, their faces tense.

The young man’s methods were so terrifying and cruel, they made one’s blood run cold.

"Who has been in contact with her in the last three days?"

the young man inquired, his gaze falling upon He Mingxuan.

"Reporting to the Immortal Master, this is a list of the inns Yang Lijun stayed at, along with their staff rosters."

He Mingxuan presented the list, which Hu Yanlin had compiled, to the young man.

Chu Lingguang cursed inwardly. ’This is bad.’

The young man swept his Telekinesis over it.

The contents of the list were instantly branded into his mind, and he immediately found a name that appeared several times.

"Chu Lingguang."

he read aloud.

"Here."

Chu Lingguang sighed to himself and answered quickly.

The young man’s gaze turned to him.

Chu Lingguang saw a flood of Telekinesis surge toward him. When it reached him, it passed through his body like morning mist.

The faces of Mo Shan and his brothers changed drastically.

"Immortal Master, we four are his sworn brothers. Our fifth brother is on his way to Wolf Valley Pass to assume his post. He only happened to run into Yang Official."

Mo Shan, worried the young man would harm Chu Lingguang, quickly explained.

"Even we four had no idea what Yang Official was going to give us."

Mo Lei added.

"BANG!"

Just as Mo Zheng and Mo Shuang were about to speak, the four brothers were sent flying by an invisible storm of Telekinesis.

"My four brothers!"

Chu Lingguang cried out in alarm.

Fortunately, Mo Shan and his brothers were only injured, their lives not in danger.

"Did she say anything to you?"

the young man asked.

He hadn’t found what he was looking for on Chu Lingguang, nor had he detected the item’s aura. It was clear Chu Lingguang had never touched it.

Chu Lingguang felt as if he were trapped in a sealed ocean, surrounded by shimmering light.

Even though his own Sea of Consciousness Power wasn’t weak, before this young man, it was like that of an infant, liable to be crushed at any moment. Daring to deceive him would certainly not end well.

’This is absolute power.’

’Schemes and tricks are useless here.’

’Lies won’t fool him at all.’

"She told me there was a heart in the wooden box. Eating it could awaken all the responses in one’s body, and even allow one to break through the True Martial Realm to become a Qi Refining expert without the help of a Cultivation Technique."

"She also said that the heart came from a she-wolf with pure Demon Blood in the Blood Wolf Cave."

"She wanted to make a trade with me, to have me avenge her father."

"I noticed a lot of people were watching her, so I didn’t dare touch the heart. We parted ways halfway. She asked me to go to the bottom of the cliff at Blood Wolf Cave and retrieve her uncle’s body."

Chu Lingguang told him everything truthfully.

Just as he had used his Sea of Consciousness Power to observe Yang Lijun, the young man was now using his Telekinesis to watch Chu Lingguang’s every detail. He finally determined that not a single word was false.

And so, the terrifying Telekinesis withdrew from Chu Lingguang.

"Retrieve a body?"

"Let’s go!"

The young man’s expression brightened after a moment of thought. He wrapped Chu Lingguang in his Telekinesis and flew off into the distance.

Chu Lingguang’s head spun.

Enveloped in the young man’s Telekinesis, he lost all power of movement.

He didn’t know how much time had passed.

When he felt a bone-chilling cold all around him, he realized he was at the bottom of a cliff.

The youth of terrifying power stood to one side, looking at six corpses that had been smashed into pulp.

His powerful Telekinesis once again enveloped the six bodies.

After searching the surroundings, he ultimately came up with nothing.

"That wretched girl."

He was furious.

"Go ahead and retrieve their bodies. The exit is to the north."

The young man glanced at Chu Lingguang, left him with those words, then leaped to the top of the cliff and vanished from sight in an instant.

"Sigh, power is the only thing that matters."

Chu Lingguang lamented.

He had thought his own strength was considerable—he could kill a Wolf Demon in an instant and was unmatched among his peers. But in front of that young man, he had been utterly powerless from start to finish.

The feeling of having his life held in another’s hands was something Chu Lingguang never wanted to experience again.

His obsession with going to Yuanchu Mountain to cultivate reached its peak. Only by entering Yuanchu Mountain and obtaining a method to advance to the Qi Refining realm could he avoid being at the mercy of others.

If the young man hadn’t been at least somewhat reasonable, if he had run into someone who killed the innocent indiscriminately, he would have long since been turned to ash just like Yang Lijun.

"You almost got me killed."

"Whatever. Since I promised Miss Yang, and a powerful expert from Yuanchu Mountain brought me here anyway, I’ll see this good deed through to the end and give you a proper burial."

Chu Lingguang didn’t care whether he would get any Favor Points or not.

He used his hands to dig a large pit at the bottom of the cliff.

He had mastered six layers of Dharma Aspect, possessed the Black Tortoise Divine Power, and had awakened twenty-one streams of Root Bone Power throughout his body. Though he was made of flesh and blood, ordinary blades could hardly scratch him.
