Chapter 542 - 528: The Limit of Living Beings, Immortal Soul Body

"Are there many Primordial Creatures in the Taixuan Realm?"

Yang Chan asked curiously.

The benefits of Taiyuan Qi to a Soul Body were plain to see. In such an environment, a Soul Body could grow passively.

If there were many Primordial Creatures within it, then the Taixuan Realm was even more terrifying than he had imagined.

"There are quite a few beings in the Taixuan Realm, but not many Primordial Creatures. As for the Netherworld Abyssal Creatures, after entering the Taixuan Realm, the number I’ve encountered barely exceeds the fingers on one hand."

"These beings are born automatically from the Taixuan Realm itself, and they are very different from the Human Race or the Dragon Race."

"I’ve heard one theory that says the number of Netherworld Abyssal Creatures is finite. Once that number is reached, no more will be born. Only after a Netherworld Abyssal Creature perishes will the Taixuan Realm give birth to a new one."

When it came to information about the Taixuan Realm, the Black Dragon became much more talkative.

He reminisced about the old days, when he too had traversed the Taixuan Realm.

"That’s quite unique. A Netherworld Abyssal Creature isn’t born directly into the Divine Acupoint Realm, is it?"

Yang Chan considered the immense amount of Taiyuan Qi within the Taixuan Realm. ’To be born in an environment that provides such a special boost to a Soul Body, they are very likely born extraordinary.’

"No. For all living beings, the Divine Acupoint is a barrier that they must break through themselves!"

"No matter how extraordinary their origins, the rule is the same. In my inherited memories, no living being is ever born into the Divine Acupoint Realm!"

"Only by breaking this restriction on their own can one be called a god. This is true even for a True God—no matter how pure their offspring’s bloodline, they must still go through this process!"

"Of course, for some powerful beings, reaching the Divine Acupoint Realm is merely a matter of time."

"The more outstanding members of the Dragon Race are never trapped below the Divine Acupoint Realm. They can break through and grow to adulthood as a matter of course."

The Black Dragon shook his head.

As far as he knew, the Divine Acuptoint Realm was a trial for all beings. Only by breaking through it could they shatter the limitations placed upon them.

This was a step they had to take on their own.

This was true for the mighty Dragon Race and other creatures of Ancient Times alike; it seemed to be a fundamental Law of the world.

"I see."

Yang Chan nodded.

Some beings were born powerful, but the Divine Acupoint Realm was a barrier they could only overcome on their own.

"You’re the Artifact Spirit of the Profound Yin Hanging Bead now. Does that mean as long as the bead itself isn’t destroyed, you’re indestructible?"

Yang Chan looked straight at the Black Dragon and suddenly asked.

This question was prompted by what happened last time. He had seen the Ancient Netherworld Creature in the Taixuan Realm attack with terrifying power, yet the Black Dragon’s Soul Body had not been extinguished. Once the Profound Yin Hanging Bead recovered, the Black Dragon reawakened. This had sparked an idea in Yang Chan’s mind.

"Something like that."

"I only realized it myself a short while ago. As long as the Profound Yin Hanging Bead exists, I can recover even if this Soul Body is destroyed. That’s because my Power of Origin is within the bead. As long as the Profound Yin Hanging Bead recovers, I can be reborn."

"In a sense, it’s a state of indestructibility. You could say my Soul Body is immortal!"

The Black Dragon nodded after hearing this.

Although this was his secret, Yang Chan was the master of the Profound Yin Hanging Bead and would have found out sooner or later, so there was no point in hiding it.

"That’s good, then. At least your survivability has greatly improved."

"Now that you’ve absorbed Taiyuan Qi, your Soul Body is much stronger than before. Can you move farther away from the Profound Yin Hanging Bead now?"

Yang Chan changed the subject again, asking how far the Black Dragon’s Soul Body could travel from the Profound Yin Hanging Bead.

Yang Chan didn’t fully trust the Black Dragon. After all, their first impressions of each other had been poor, which made improving their relationship much more difficult.

Neither of them spoke of the time he had used Shift Form and Position to make the dragon take a blow for him, but they were both acutely aware that it had happened.

The Black Dragon was in a position where he had no choice but to yield.

Yang Chan, for his part, felt he had nothing to apologize for. Once the Profound Yin Hanging Bead acknowledged him as its master, its purpose was to ensure his safety.

If he ever found himself in a similar situation, Yang Chan would use Shift Form and Position again without the slightest hesitation.

After all, his life was precious.

The Profound Yin Hanging Bead was, to him, an external object. Though he would be loath to part with it, when compared to his own life, the choice was an easy one to make.

"The distance has only increased by a little—about twenty percent more than before."

"This large Secret Realm has appeared. If you wish to leave the Taiyu Divine Continent and travel to other Cultivation Realms, Master, I suggest you go inside and investigate."

After answering, the Black Dragon immediately changed the subject to the large Secret Realm.

This was the large Secret Realm related to the Purple Void Imperial Dynasty, and the Black Dragon himself seemed eager to explore it.

"Oh? Why is that?"

Yang Chan looked at the Black Dragon, a surprised expression on his face.

After all this time with him, the Black Dragon should know what he was like.

He was an extremely cautious person, so why would the Black Dragon make such a reckless suggestion? ’What is he planning!’

Yang Chan scrutinized the Black Dragon, wondering if this suggestion was the dragon’s attempt at getting revenge.

"If you wish to leave the Taiyu Divine Continent, Master, your Martial Arts Cultivation must break through the Human-God Boundary. You would also need to advance far beyond the Divine Acupoint Realm. Only then could you travel through the void and physically reach other Realms."

"If you cannot break through the Divine Acupoint Realm, then you would need a Cross-Realm Teleportation Array. These are arrays built between Life Ancient Stars, capable of sending people directly to Realms more suitable for cultivation."

"This would be an excellent option for you, Master."

"Although you are heading to the Merak Sacred Land, the strongest cultivators there are only at the Blood Exchange Realm. They aren’t guaranteed to have information about a Cross-Realm Teleportation Array."

"The Purple Void Imperial Dynasty, on the other hand, was the most powerful Divine Dynasty ten thousand years ago. It unified the Taiyu Divine Continent, and then vanished without a trace. It’s highly likely that the entire Imperial Dynasty traveled to another Realm more suitable for cultivation. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have just disappeared so quietly!"

"Therefore, I suspect that the Purple Void Imperial Dynasty built a Cross-Realm Teleportation Array back then to leave the Taiyu Divine Continent, and the appearance of this large Secret Realm is likely related to it."

"There’s a good chance a Cross-Realm Teleportation Array is inside, one that could lead away from the Taiyu Divine Continent to a Realm better suited for cultivation."

The Black Dragon voiced his suspicions, providing a reasonable explanation for his suggestion.

Of course, there was something the Black Dragon didn’t say: he had seen what he suspected to be a Dragon Race creature within the Secret Realm. This was a private theory of his.

If he could find a dragon’s corpse, could his Soul Body enter it and use a Secret Technique to revive? Could he escape his current predicament?

He hated this feeling of being constrained by another, restricted at every turn, and unable to break free.

"A Cross-Realm Teleportation Array..."

Yang Chan muttered the words, his expression shifting and uncertain.

He didn’t mind delaying other matters, but if there was a Realm more suitable for cultivation, Yang Chan was naturally tempted to make a move.

The Merak Sacred Land was excellent, but its limits were visible. A place better suited for cultivation, however, would have no such ceiling!
