Chapter 20

I opened my eyes and looked around. It's morning already based on the clock on the bedside table. I looked beside me, Wade wasn't there. Where did he sleep? I didn't hear or felt him came in last night. Did he book another villa? I thought we'll share. Am I disappointed that he isn't here? God, what is happening to me?

I slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. I did my usual morning routine. I went out in my black two-piece bikini and a white cover-up dress. I am in the mood for swimming today even if I'll probably just do it by myself since Wade is nowhere to be found. I walked towards the beach and looked for a spot to put my picnic cloth and do some sunbathing. When I found the perfect spot, I laid my cloth and then took off my cover-up. I was left in my bikini alone. I have nothing to be ashamed of, I have fair white skin and amazing body perks of being a model. I put on my shades and lay flat on the cloth while enjoying the sun. I looked around me; I must say this resort doesn't run out of people. Some were playing volleyball while others were chilling with friends. I was the only one alone and I didn't mind it. I enjoy having quality time with myself. I shrugged the thought of other people and just closed my eyes.

I felt someone staring at me so I opened my eyes. Who is disturbing my peaceful time? I looked up and saw a man beside me. He was just standing there but he smiled when our eyes met. I cleared my throat and sat up. I took my sunglasses and turned to face him.

"Can I help you?" I said.

"I'm Jack, what's your name?" He said.

"I'm sorry but I'm not interested," I said as I put my sunglasses back.

"Miss, I just wanna know your name, is that a hard thing to do?" He said. This man doesn't know how to take a hint. I wasn't interested and I know it was obvious. I stood up.

"I'm Camierre, now can you please leave me?" I said.

"Nice to meet you, Camierre," He said holding out a hand. I took it and shake it for a while and then pulled it out.

"Do you want to join-"

"I said; I am not interested. Just leave already." I said. I lay back on the sand and to show how much I want him gone, I put my earphones on. It worked as I saw him jog away and back to his friends. They seemed to be teasing him. He didn't look bad though, he was tall, handsome and pleasant to look at but I am just not interested in him or anyone right now. Is that it? Or am I interested in one person only? I shrugged that thought off and just enjoyed the music and the beach.

I looked at my phone and saw that it was nine in the morning already. Maybe it's time for me to take a dip. I took my sunglasses and earphones off. I walked towards the sea and into the waters until the water level was leveling with my neck. Wow, the water felt so good on my skin. I don't know how to swim that's why I needed to be where my feet can touch the bottom of the sea. I played along with the waves and enjoyed the crystal clear waters. I stayed there for a couple of minutes until I saw a pretty jellyfish; I followed it but kept a distance enough for me not to touch it. It went deeper and I followed it. I was confident because I could still touch the bottom. I was so fond of the thing that I forgot where I am and where I should just be. I panicked when I could no longer feel the sand on my feet and I was slowly falling deeper. I shouted and shouted as I kept on surfacing above the water. My vision became a blur and negative thoughts kept on running through my mind. Will I drown in here? Am I going to die? I became weaker and weaker as seconds passed by. I lost hope that someone could hear me. I was a bit far from the shore and the waves are noisy. No one could hear me. I closed my eyes as I kept on kicking myself upwards. I was about to lose it when I felt someone grab me. I opened my eyes and I saw Jack. My vision wasn't clear but I swear it was him. Even when I snapped at him earlier, he saved me. I closed my eyes and darkness engulfed me.

"Camierre? Wake up," I could hear a man's voice but I couldn't open my eyes.

"Kiss her and I'll kill you," I heard Wade's voice in the background.

"Man, I am not going to kiss her. She just drowned, I need to save her." Another man said.

"Step back and I'll l do it," Wade said. What is going on?

"Who are you anyway? Do you know her? I saved her from drowning, man. I need to finish what I started. So if you could please, step back."

"Yes, you saved her and I am thankful for that. Thank you for saving my wife." I heard Wade again.

"Hey, come on, this is not the time to argue, she will die if you kept on arguing there." I heard a woman yelled.

That felt like a wake-up call for me as I coughed upon hearing the woman yell. I coughed that my throat hurt like hell. I opened my eyes and saw a couple of people around me. What happened? I saw Wade beside me, he helped sat up. I looked at him and I could see the panic in his eyes.

"How are you feeling?" He said as he held me firmly in his arms. "Where does it hurt?"

"I'm fine," I said. He hugged me tight and whispered things that I couldn't quite comprehend.
