[I can’t fight as well as them, so can you give me something that will help me?]
Until now, she had always spent her SP on weapons for her husbands. After all, they were always the ones standing on the front lines, while she stayed behind them, supporting them with her healing.
But in a situation like this, she realized she couldn’t keep hiding behind them forever.
There would be times when she had to fight with her own hands and there would be times when she had to become strong enough to protect the people she loved.
No matter how terrified she was of dying at the hands of her own husbands, there was something she feared even more: she couldn’t bear the thought of Zeir and Calen regaining their senses, only to realize that they had killed their own wife.
That pain... It would destroy them far more deeply than any wound she could ever suffer.
[Searching for compatible weapons...] the system finally replied.
Dozens of weapons immediately appeared on the transparent screen.
[Greatsword.]
[Twin Daggers.]
[Long Spear.]
[War Hammer.]
[Battle Axe.]
Roxanna immediately shook her head. [No... I don’t know how to use any of those.]
Another chain shot toward her and she quickly spun aside, but the blade still grazed her sleeve before cutting through the seawater behind her.
Meanwhile, Calen didn’t give her a chance to breathe. The moment his axe returned to his hand, he charged again.
Roxanna barely escaped another swing. [System! I don’t need the strongest weapon!] she cried. [I need something simple! Something I can use even if I’ve never trained before!]
The screen flickered and most of the heavy weapons disappeared before a new one appeared instead.
[Returning Throwing Daggers: 22,000 SP.]
Roxanna’s eyes immediately stopped on the first one.
[Returning Throwing Daggers: A set of six enchanted daggers. After being thrown, they automatically return to the user’s hand. They require little strength to throw and are easy for beginners to use.]
Her eyes lit up because that was exactly what she needed.
After all, she didn’t need to defeat Zeir and Calen. She only needed to make them bleed or feel enough pain for the healing injections to work.
[I’ll take them!]
[Purchased 1x Returning Throwing Daggers: 22,000 SP.]
[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 283,950]
Six silver daggers instantly appeared, floating in front of Roxanna. Each one was light enough to hold with one hand.
She grabbed two of them just as Zeir’s chains came flying toward her again.
Clang!
Roxanna quickly knocked one chain away with a dagger before throwing the other.
The dagger spun through the water, heading straight for Calen’s arm.
She deliberately avoided his chest and neck because her goal wasn’t to kill him. She only needed to wound him, just enough to make him feel pain.
Clang!
Calen instinctively raised the Titan Splitter Axe, knocking the dagger away before it could reach him.
Roxanna clicked her tongue. As expected, it wasn’t going to be that easy.
The dagger curved through the water before flying back into her hand, just as the System had promised.
[Host, don’t fight them head-on!] the System warned. [Your advantage isn’t strength. It’s speed and flexibility!]
Roxanna honestly had no idea she was supposed to have an advantage in speed and flexibility.
[You’re flexible enough when it comes to—]
[Shut up!] Roxanna cut the System off before it could finish.
Even in the middle of a life-and-death battle, the system still found a way to make shameless jokes.
Zeir’s chained blades shot toward her once again. Roxanna twisted her body to the side, narrowly avoiding the first blade. The second one swept past her shoulder, cutting off a few strands of her pink hair.
She gritted her teeth, and then suddenly threw all six daggers at once.
The enchanted blades curved through the water from different directions, making it impossible to block them all.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Calen knocked away four of them with his axe, but the last two found their targets.
One buried itself deep into Calen’s upper thigh and the other pierced straight through Zeir’s right shoulder.
Fresh blood spread into the seawater and the moment the pain reached them, both men’s bodies froze.
Their empty eyes trembled. "Roxanna?" Calen whispered, his voice filled with confusion.
Zeir’s chains slipped from his hands as he stared at her in disbelief. "What... are we..."
Roxanna’s eyes lit up. "It worked!"
She immediately rushed toward them, pulling out the two healing injections. "Don’t move! I’ll heal you right now!"
But when she was only a few feet away, the sound of Sybill’s harp suddenly became louder. It was so loud that even Roxanna had to menusuk her own paha with the dagger to broke the mind-control herself.
The sharp pain spread through her leg almost instantly. Roxanna let out a muffled gasp, but the fog clouding her mind disappeared.
She yanked the dagger back out without a second thought. Blood slowly drifted into the seawater, but she ignored it completely.
As long as she could still move, nothing else mattered. Besides, she trusted that her healing ability was fast enough to recover from the wound.
When she looked up, she saw that Zeir and Calen had already fallen under the harp’s control again.
"No..." Roxanna gritted her teeth and lunged toward Calen, hoping she could hurt him again before he attacked her.
She was only an arm’s length away when Calen suddenly disappeared.
A split second later, a powerful kick slammed into her stomach. "Ugh!"
The impact sent Roxanna flying backward through the water. The healing injection slipped from her hand and spun away into the distance.
"No!" She shouted out loud.
She reached for it, but Zeir’s chained blade whipped toward her, forcing her to dodge.
The injection drifted farther and farther away. Meanwhile, Calen caught the returning dagger that had wounded him earlier and crushed it in his hand.
Roxanna held her breath. At that moment, she knew she was done for.
