Boiled Water Little White

Chapter 448 - 315: Heavy Casualties, Terrifying Lightning from the Horizon

Li Dingtian had been in a bit of a funk, but his mood instantly improved when he heard that his well-behaved and sensible daughter was learning to make pastries and would make some for him once she mastered the craft.

"Well, I’m really looking forward to it. You’d better learn quickly."

Li Qian smiled and nodded. Li Dingtian then added, "A new shipment of silks and satins just arrived at the estate. When you visit your cousin, go to the storehouse and take some to her as a gift."

"Xinru was nearly abducted by a band of thieves last time. I heard they’ve been captured. It’s been a few days now. Have they been executed yet?" Zhao Xin inquired.

"They’ve been executed," Li Dingtian said.

He had been furious when he first heard that his niece had nearly been abducted by bandits.

After learning the bandits had been caught, he had sent word to the magistrate’s office to expedite the interrogation and carry out the execution.

...

RUMBLE—

WHOOSH...

SPLASH, SPLASH...

Lightning flashed, thunder roared, winds howled, and rain poured down in sheets.

In contrast to the clamor outside, the real estate agency was much quieter.

After returning to the real estate agency, Lin Li took a large bag of Spirit Stones from his Mysterious Small Island right in front of the young woman. He then counted out one hundred Spirit Stones and placed them on the table before her.

’This Mr. Lin is actually a Cultivator, and one who’s awakened the Storage Space Superpower, no less...’ The young woman stared at Lin Li in astonishment. She’d thought he was just an ordinary person!

"Miss Wang, please verify the authenticity of these Spirit Stones. Once you’ve confirmed they’re genuine, we can sign the purchase agreement," Lin Li said.

"Yes, of course." Snapping out of her surprise, the young woman composed herself and nodded. She picked up a burlap sack and swept all one hundred Spirit Stones Lin Li had counted out into it.

Then, carrying the bag of Spirit Stones, she left the small room to have her superior verify their authenticity.

The young woman who had left with the Spirit Stones didn’t keep Lin Li waiting long.

About ten minutes later, she returned, a wide smile on her face. Seeing her expression, Lin Li, who had been waiting in his chair, knew the purchase was a success.

"Mr. Lin, please sign these two copies of the purchase agreement." The young woman placed the two documents in front of him.

Although Lin Li trusted the young woman not to pull any fast ones, he remembered the agreement had been drafted by the agency. He decided it was best to pick it up and review the contents to make sure everything was in order.

He quickly skimmed the agreement’s contents. Everything seemed normal, so Lin Li signed his name on both copies.

After signing and adding his thumbprint to both copies, one went to Lin Li and the other went to the real estate agency.

The young woman took the copy for the agency’s records and handed Lin Li the deed to the house.

’This is my first piece of real estate in this Otherworld. And, huh... the property rights are permanent!’

A smile spread across Lin Li’s face as he looked at the deed. He then stored both the deed and the purchase agreement in his Mysterious Small Island.

The young woman watched the deed and purchase agreement vanish from Lin Li’s hand. Even though she already knew Mr. Lin was a Cultivator with an extremely rare Storage Space Superpower, she couldn’t help but look surprised all over again.

"Thank you, Miss Wang. If I need to buy another house in the future, I’ll be sure to find you," Lin Li said, getting to his feet and preparing to leave.

Seeing him get up to leave, the young woman quickly followed and stopped him.

"Hm?" Lin Li looked at her, confused.

"Mr. Lin, it’s pouring out there. You’ll have a hard time hailing a carriage. Please, let our carriage take you home," she explained.

"Alright, thank you." Lin Li glanced at the downpour outside and readily accepted her kind offer.

The carriage that took Lin Li home was the same one from earlier, with the same driver.

As soon as Lin Li left, the veteran employees at the agency crowded around the young woman, showering her with praise and congratulations.

The simple-hearted young woman was a bit overwhelmed by all the praise and congratulations from her seniors.

’Then again...’ If one looked closely, they would see that the gazes of these veteran employees, who were showering her with praise, were also tinged with no small amount of envy and jealousy.

...

To the northwest of Dongwu City, several dozen kilometers away, lay a forest that stretched as far as the eye could see.

While large swaths of Dongwu City were being drenched by a torrential downpour, here it was merely overcast, without a single drop of rain.

Looking up at the sky, one could make out numerous figures moving back and forth within the dark clouds.

Focusing one’s gaze into the clouds, the indistinct figures immediately became sharp and clear.

They were Mutant Beasts. Countless creatures were flying within the dark clouds.

These creatures were enormous, with an average body length of about ten meters. When their wings were spread, their wingspan measured at least twenty-five meters.

Each Mutant Beast had a round head, large eyes, and a pointed beak.

Their bodies were covered in smooth, grayish-brown feathers, making them look just like the owls from Blue Star—except their size was almost beyond imagination.
