The elevator doors opened, and Lin Li stepped out of the hallway. He subconsciously glanced toward the landscaped area in the distance.
Soon, he spotted a petite figure in a cute little skirt, sitting on the grass in the landscaped area. Her small hands were petting two other figures, one black and one white.
"Good morning, Lin Li!" Zhou Tongtong, who wore a cute little skirt and had her hair in a small ponytail, called out to him in a bright, clear voice when she spotted him in the distance.
"Morning!" Lin Li was in a hurry, so he didn’t stop to chat with the cute little girl. He just smiled and returned her greeting before walking briskly toward his parking spot.
"Lin Li is in such a hurry!" Zhou Tongtong mumbled as she watched him walk away quickly.
"MEOW... Zhou Tongtong, I have to tell you something! Last night..." the Little Black Cat meowed, drawing Zhou Tongtong’s attention back to him. He then began to recount a strange thing he had seen the previous night.
"You’re saying that when you two were catching mice last night, you saw a man outside the complex, standing under a big tree and smoking in the middle of the night instead of being home asleep?" Zhou Tongtong asked.
"MEOW... And he was looking into the complex while he smoked. I think he’s up to no good.
You need to be careful when you go out. Don’t you humans have things like kidnappings? Don’t let that man snatch you away," the Little Black Cat said.
"Kidnapping?!!!" Zhou Tongtong was startled. ’Should I tell my mom about this?’ she wondered.
"MEOW... Zhou Tongtong, don’t listen to this idiot’s nonsense.
Seeing someone standing under a tree smoking late at night, while uncommon, isn’t unheard of. It has nothing to do with kidnapping," the Little White Cat said, shooting her companion a look and speaking to Zhou Tongtong, who had taken the warning to heart.
"Oh, right! A lot of grown-ups smoke. You can’t just say he’s a bad guy who kidnaps kids just because he was smoking late at night..."
Little White’s words convinced Zhou Tongtong. Her furrowed brows relaxed, and she reached out to scratch the chin of the Little Black Cat who had given her a scare.
"MEOW..." The Little Black Cat let out a contented sound as his chin was scratched, meowing for Zhou Tongtong not to stop.
"MEOW..." Seeing this, the Little White Cat nearby immediately meowed that she wanted some too, nudging her little head forward.
Of course, Zhou Tongtong wouldn’t play favorites. She reached out her other small hand and started scratching the Little White Cat’s chin as well.
A faint Spiritual Energy Wave emanated from Zhou Tongtong. As her small hands scratched the chins of the Little White Cat and the Little Black Cat, a barely perceptible trace of Spiritual Energy seeped from her hands into the two little strays’ bodies.

In a residential building near the landscaped area, a rather sturdy-looking little boy stared with a shocked expression at the little girl playing with the two stray cats.

In the early morning, brilliant golden sunlight shone on the trees lining both sides of the street. It filtered through the gaps in the leaves and branches, creating numerous spots of light within the swaying shadows.
It wasn’t rush hour yet, so there weren’t many vehicles on the street.
A silver-white van drove under the shade of the trees by the roadside, heading quickly toward the wilderness of the South District Suburbs.

As Lin Li drove his van toward the South District, he noticed that the closer he got, the more vehicles there were on the road.
The van stopped at an intersection. Lin Li glanced to his left and right and saw that the passengers in the cars next to him were all young men and women.
