"You guys hold it off! I’m going to check on Old Wang!"
The Investigator, Xiaowu, who had been sent flying earlier, struggled to his feet. Clutching his injured chest with one hand, he scrambled toward the spot where his team leader, Old Wang, lay motionless on the ground.
"ROAR..." The Porcupine Beast saw its most hated enemy lying motionless after being struck and let out a triumphant cry.
It then charged forward, intending to deliver a few more kicks to its most hated foe. It wanted to stomp him into a pulp to vent its rage.
"Damn it! That beast is going after Old Wang again!" The three uninjured Investigators saw the Porcupine Beast’s intention and rushed forward to intercept it.
Unfortunately, the difference in power was too great. After losing the support of two of their teammates, the three of them stood no chance of succeeding, no matter how hard they tried.
After checking on his unconscious team leader’s condition, Investigator Xiaowu was relieved to find that he wasn’t dead.
He was just about to report his findings to his teammates when he turned and saw the Porcupine Beast force the other three back before charging straight for him.
"Damn Mutant Beast!" Investigator Xiaowu saw the Porcupine Beast’s intent. He quickly scooped up his unconscious team leader and bolted.
But he had only run about twenty meters before the pain from his injuries forced him to stop, his forehead breaking out in a cold sweat and his vision swimming with stars.
"Xiaowu, get out of the way!" The shouts of the three Investigators who had been forced back came from behind him. Xiaowu turned to look.
The red-eyed Porcupine Beast had already closed to within seven or eight meters. In the next second, it would send both him and the team leader in his arms flying.
’It’s over.’ The thought flashed through Xiaowu’s mind as he realized he couldn’t dodge in time. Just as the Porcupine Beast was about to succeed, a fist-sized Fireball came whistling through the air and struck the charging beast square in the face.
BOOM.
The flames from the exploding Fireball seared the Porcupine Beast’s face, scorching its brown fur.
Luckily, the Porcupine Beast’s body was covered in Spiritual Energy; otherwise, the Fireball would have blinded it.
The Porcupine Beast, which had been about to send Investigator Xiaowu and his team leader flying, was halted in its tracks by the sudden Fireball.
"Get your companion and fall back." A steady voice sounded in Investigator Xiaowu’s ear. He looked toward the sound and saw a figure in camouflage fatigues speed past him.
THUMP.
Lin Li leaped up and delivered a flying kick, squarely striking the head of the Porcupine Beast, which had yet to recover from the Fireball attack.
"ROAR..."
The Porcupine Beast had just been hit in the head by a Fireball, only to be immediately struck again by Lin Li’s flying kick. It let out a piercing shriek as its massive body reeled backward and crashed to the ground.

As the Porcupine Beast struggled to get up, Lin Li kicked off his left foot and instantly flashed to the beast’s side. Appearing in its blind spot, he raised his right hand, which gripped the Spiritual Longsword, and thrust forward with all his might.

The Spiritual Longsword, glowing with a faint golden Spiritual Light, pierced through the Porcupine Beast’s head with deadly precision.

Influenced by the blood-red moon, the Porcupine Beast’s Life Force was exceptionally resilient. Its roars were incessant. Although Lin Li’s Spiritual Longsword had run it through the head, leaving it with no chance of survival, it still wanted to struggle one last time before dying.
Unfortunately for the beast, Lin Li had no intention of giving it time to struggle. The experienced Hunter simply twisted his Spiritual Longsword, giving it a hard turn that scrambled the Porcupine Beast’s brains into mush.

The light instantly vanished from the eyes of the brain-scrambled Porcupine Beast. Its massive body crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Lin Li snapped his arm back, pulling the Spiritual Longsword from the Porcupine Beast’s head.
The blade, still glowing with a faint golden Spiritual Light, was stained with a foul-smelling mixture of red and white. It ran down the edge of the sword to the tip, dripping onto the grass below.
’This Exotic Beast Hunter is so strong.’ A similar thought occurred to Investigator Xiaowu and his three teammates as they watched Lin Li dispatch the Porcupine Beast—the very same beast that had pushed them to the brink—with such clean efficiency.
’A Second Order Middle Stage Spiritual Energy wave... That guy looks so young! Since when did the Exotic Beast Hunter Guild have such a young Cultivator at the Second Order Middle Stage?’
Just as Investigator Xiaowu and his three teammates were marveling at the fact that this young Exotic Beast Hunter was at the Second Order Middle Stage, a series of dense explosions echoed from the distance.
This instantly broke their train of thought, and they all turned to look in the direction of the explosions.
Lin Li’s attention was also captured by the sudden explosions. Like the Investigators, he turned his gaze toward the source of the sound.
In the distant sky, dozens of attack helicopters hung in the air.
At that moment, this attack squadron was launching a rocket barrage at a giant Wild Boar Beast. The creature stood five meters tall, was covered in brown fur, and had sharp tusks jutting from its mouth, from which it occasionally spewed blasts of frigid air.
