Chapter 127

Chapter 127

You’ve Become a Leech? If You Keep Sucking, the Person Will Be Drained Dry!

Henry had no idea how the Boss could ask a question like “Do you have any Black Magic?” here at Saint Nad Magic Academy.

What was the difference between that and asking if there were any members of The Alliance or The Church at the cultists’ headquarters?

“Then what should we do? We can’t just watch this book die of thirst!”

The Boss was frantic.

If this book dried up and died, wouldn’t he be ruined?

“Alright then. Leave the book with me for a while. Let’s see if it returns to normal after I get some sleep.”

Henry put on a look of reluctant acceptance.

In his eyes, this thing seemed to be nothing but trouble.

Hearing Henry’s words, the Boss looked somewhat hesitant.

The key point was that he had bought this item from Henry. Giving it back to Henry now seemed like he was just handing it over for free.

But there was no other way at the moment.

Perhaps this book and Henry really were compatible, or maybe Henry had another method to save it.

But if the other party wasn’t telling him, there was nothing he could do.

“Then… alright then.”

The Boss looked rather unwilling as he handed the book to Henry.

However, Henry spoke up again.

“It’s like this, Boss. Honestly, I don’t really want to handle this book. And you need to know, this thing might be related to Black Magic. If someone finds out, I could get Expelled…”

“Get to the point!”

A vein bulged on the Boss’s forehead; he really looked like a decent guy pushed to the edge.

“A little storage fee, since this item doesn’t belong to me anymore.”

“Fine, fine! Here, will this do?”

The Boss felt like he had fallen into Henry’s trap, this guy was sucking him dry like a leech.

The crux of the matter was that he had to let himself be sucked dry, that was the most outrageous part.

The other man stuffed another bank card into Henry’s hand, urging him to take good care of this Black Magic Book, to at least not let it die completely.

Having taken the money, Henry naturally had to handle the matter.

But after seeing the Boss out, Henry faced another problem.

The Black Magic Book seemed dead; no matter how Henry fiddled with it, there was no reaction.

It wasn’t at all like last time, brimming with the aura of Black Magic.

“This is troublesome. Could it really be starving to death?”

Henry fell silent for a moment, then made a startling decision.

He decided to use Spiritual Energy to feed the Black Magic Book!

Henry circulated the Spiritual Energy within his body, gathering it in his palm.

The [Cataclysm Sword Intent] inside him seemed confused by Henry’s actions, spinning around in place in a dazed confusion.

“You can’t be picky about food, understand? A book shouldn’t be a fussy eater.”

He pressed the Spiritual Energy against the Black Magic Book.

The moment the Spiritual Energy touched the pages, the entire book suddenly levitated. The previously withered Black Magic Book acted as if it had found an oasis, frantically sucking Henry’s Spiritual Energy!

“Holy shit, have you turned into a leech?!”

Henry’s eyes widened. The Spiritual Energy within his body surged like a breached dam, streaming ceaselessly through the meridians of his arm into the Black Magic Book.

It was like a person who had been thirsting in the desert for over ten days, unwilling to let go once they found water.

Simultaneously, the [Cataclysm Sword Intent] seemed to sense a thief had broken into the house to steal.

It angrily brandished itself, trying to sever the connection between the Black Magic Book and Henry.

But the Black Magic Book was unwilling to be evicted so easily. While absorbing Henry’s Spiritual Energy, it actually injected a trace of Black Magic back into Henry’s body!

Henry frowned, but inside he felt a wave of warmth!

He didn’t pay it much mind though. Using his will, he commanded the [Cataclysm Sword Intent] to directly slash through the link between him and the Black Magic Book.

The previously dried-out Black Magic Book now returned to its original form.

It seemed to let out a satisfied burp and leisurely settled in front of Henry.

And the once-blank page now seemed to have a few more lines of text.

【Tasted pure magical power, satisfied…】

【Only you are qualified to peruse XXX】

The characters after that were blurred, as if soaked in water, and Henry couldn’t make them out clearly.

Henry guessed that was probably this Black Magic Book’s original name.

He silently wiped the sweat from his brow, grateful that he was only sweating and hadn’t lost bladder control.

But Henry was curious: would he have another chance to return to the past and see Cliff again?

Before he left last time, he hadn’t asked Cliff if she had hidden any valuables at Saint Nad Magic Academy.

But when he saw Cliff last time, she seemed quite youthful, utterly unlike the figure of legend.

“Cliff in her shy phase?”

Henry stroked his chin, the scene from that time replaying in his mind.

After finishing the day’s work, Henry lay back down on his bed.

Lilith had mentioned receiving orders from Sherisa and planned to stay at Sherisa’s residence for the night, saying there was important business to handle.

So tonight, Henry was home alone!

He greatly cherished this rare personal time.

First, he roasted a chicken, then soaked in the Hot Springs. The only shame was the lack of someone to give him a massage; that would have been the pinnacle of bliss!

After all these activities, Henry lay in bed, ready to sleep.

He planned to visit the academy’s library collection room the next day.

After all, Lady Reina had granted him some access privileges, giving him a chance to delve deeper into the history of magic.

Incidentally, Henry’s grades in Magical History and Theory were A+!

What did that mean?

It was like someone born with extremely poor physical coordination, who couldn’t even learn basic dribbling, acing the theoretical and historical sports exams!

Many people in class had already changed their opinion of him.

After all, no one wanted to offend a classmate with good grades and strong combat prowess.

Except for Luning and his crew.

Henry yawned, hugged the quilt with his legs, and fell into a sweet, deep sleep.

****

THUD!

Henry felt himself being thrown into the water like a piglet.

The crucial point was, he couldn’t break free from the cage he was in, and could only watch helplessly as he sank!

Damn it all.

He hadn’t seduced anyone’s wife, so why was he being subjected to this “cage drowning” punishment out of the blue?

He beat against the cage, but couldn’t muster any strength in his body.

As his consciousness began to fade, suddenly, a powerful Spiritual Energy erupted from within him!

A golden sword materialized in his hand!

Henry was surprised that the [Cataclysm Sword Intent] had manifested at this moment.

Was this still a dream?

Henry didn’t overthink it. He directly swung the sword, shattering the cage, and swiftly swam upwards.

When he finally reached the shore, he found himself in a serene forest.

“Why am I in this godforsaken place again? Can’t my spawn points be better in the future?”

Henry couldn’t help but complain aloud.

But then, wolf howls came from not far away, as if a large pack of wolves was charging towards him.
