Fortunately, the remaining four didn’t keep them waiting too long and arrived one after another.
The three new guests probably didn’t expect that the cameras would be on them from the moment they got off the car, so they seemed a bit uneasy.
Before they got close, the three of them bowed and greeted everyone.
"Hello, seniors. I’m Xu Jihua."
Shu Ran quietly gave everyone a rundown of the new guests’ information.
"This Xu Jihua is the benchmark for the new generation of actors from the 90s, often appearing in serious dramas, and has done many red-themed shows."
"Hello everyone, I’m An Zhou."
"This An Zhou was in the previous sessions, I can’t remember exactly which one, but he won the Golden Award for TV dramas. He used to be unknown until recently when he got popular for appearing in suspense dramas."
"Hello everyone, I’m Song Weili."
"This one... I don’t need to introduce, right? Li Yang, he’s in your team, right?"
Mu Qiu snapped out of the character introduction course and looked at Li Yang.
"Yes, he’s my teammate." Li Yang smiled brightly and went up to fist-bump with Song Weili.
"You’re quite something, comrade Shu Ran," Guan Yu looked at Shu Ran with admiration, nudging her shoulder and whispering, "You recognize anyone who comes by casually. Do you carry an entertainment circle directory with you?"
"I’ve been to many variety and chaotic evening shows, so you can call out names anytime."
Shu Ran tilted her chin, flicked her hair lightly, adopting a ’this level cannot stump a scene person like me’ attitude.
Mu Qiu covered her mouth with a fan, exchanging a glance with Cheng Zhirang.
The new guests all arrived, and Shi Yuhuai was fashionably late, walking towards them drowsily.
"Come on, everyone, come choose a fan. The number on these fans might correspond to your costumes."
Cheng Zhirang took out four fans, and Xu Jihua and the others were playing this purely luck-based game for the first time, so they hesitated a bit.
Shi Yuhuai, however, didn’t hesitate at all, immediately grabbing the big red fan on the edge.
Unfortunately, just as he took it, a previously silent accompanying director suddenly ghosted in and stopped him.
"Brother Huai, you don’t have the privilege to choose this time. Only when they finish choosing, the one left will be yours."
Shi Yuhuai paused, turned to look at the accompanying director, expressionless.
"Hahaha, serves you right for slacking off! Brother Huai, you’re already a fixed NPC that can’t be moved this time!" Li Yang laughed loudly at him.
Mu Qiu joined in, gloating, "To be honest, I thought your entrance today would be someone carrying you and shutting you directly into a little dark room."
Shu Ran let out a timely mocking laugh, "You’re scheduled today, no choice for you. Later, always staying in the little dark room must be cool, really lucky, unlike us, running around outside. This luck is what you asked for last time, wasn’t it?"
"Your lipstick is on your teeth."
Shu Ran froze, quickly turning away to use a small mirror she carried to check her teeth.
Shi Yuhuai didn’t feel the joy of defeating someone with one move, putting the selected fan back and sitting quietly aside.
The three guests hesitated but chose their fans and opened them for the camera.
Xu Jihua chose 4, An Zhou chose 8, Song Weili chose 6, leaving Shi Yuhuai with 3 by default.
"After choosing the fan, what’s next?" Song Weili quietly asked Li Yang, "Do we change clothes next?"
"Probably," Li Yang wasn’t sure, "but the show crew has plenty of tricks, no one can guess."
He seemed like an excited kid eager to show Song Weili the speechless aspects of the show.
From the park to the ancient town gate, he and Song Weili were whispering together all the way.
Mu Qiu and Cheng Zhirang walked behind, by the bridge, looking at the rapid river below.
The flow was really strong, with spray reaching the bridge. Standing at the edge, she could feel the mist.
"This place is really nice, great air quality. I’ve never seen such a rapid river running through a city."
Cheng Zhirang pulled her back, "Be careful. Do you like this place? How about buying some property here?"
Mu Qiu paused, looking up at him, "I just thought it’s suitable for retirement, and you’re already thinking of buying property?"
Cheng Zhirang countered, "Isn’t it normal to act on your thoughts? Plus, the air is really good here, living here should be pleasant."
"...Alright, then let’s buy."
Guan Yu was next to them, chatting with Shu Ran and An Zhou, unaware that the two had decided to buy a retirement home with just a few words.
"Though there’s no car for such a long distance, the environment is so nice that walking is enjoyable. Did you see the Willow Leaf City episode? We had cars back then, it was special... mmph!"
Shu Ran quickly covered her mouth, smiling gracefully, saying to Xu Jihua and the others:
"Our show has a live format, and only after three episodes do we edit, so many missed it live. It’s normal that you haven’t seen it."
Xu Jihua: "But I did watch that episode."
"..." Does this person know how to talk?! Wouldn’t it be easier to just say you didn’t watch?
Her expression was so stiff, Xu Jihua and An Zhou couldn’t help but laugh.
Mu Qiu heard the laughter and turned around to chat with them.
"What’s the format of this episode? I’ve watched so many movies and TV shows these days, worried the program might do a movie name guessing segment."
"Guessing, guessing movie names?" Li Yang, who was whispering with his pal earlier, turned around, shocked,
"Why didn’t I think of that?! I thought it would involve improvising scenes, so I’ve been memorizing tons of movie lines! Plus, fans summarized some novels for me, and I’ve been reading till midnight!"
"Wow, you’re really going all out."
"Is it what you all think?!" Guan Yu was shocked too, "I thought they’d make us guess which star acted in which drama, so I’ve been memorizing actor names watching TV shows!"
Shu Ran: "What a coincidence, I was memorizing their lines."
Oh, wow.
Everyone had different understandings.
"Brother Huai, what about you?"
Shi Yuhuai glanced at them, openly said, "I didn’t memorize anything."
"...Right, you were disengaged enough to have put yourself in the little dark room, immovable and not participating in the game, just maybe pushing it as an NPC player, no need to memorize. An Zhou, what about you?"
An Zhou was a bit confused, "Me? I didn’t either... but I’ve watched many movies and shows, so my earlier-stored knowledge should be enough... right?"
Guan Yu: "Got it, trying to pass the final exam relying on early accumulation. You too?"
Xu Jihua raised his hand, "I watched a few, but memorized the plot, thinking they might have us reenact scenes."
Song Weili panicked, "I-I-I didn’t memorize anything either!"
Li Yang patted his chest loyally, "No worries! I’m here!"
