Kylie blinked in surprise at the sudden question, but in the end she couldn’t bear to leave Seth hanging for long and replied.
"T-that... well yes, but I will need more supply of blood from you, since my state isn’t stable enough to donate."
Eyes flickering, she nodded again and reaffirmed. "It might be tricky, but yes, with my and Victor’s expertise we can replicate the feat."
Seth’s gaze gleamed as she spoke, but the moment Victor’s name was mentioned a hint of aversion flashed.
"Why do you ask?" Kylie inquired, genuinely curious. She wondered if he wanted to help his friends also achieve the Bronze Human upgrade.
Seth pondered for a few seconds, musing silently before turning to glance at the silent Victor by his side.
Then she quickly assured, "Do not worry, Seth, I trust him!"
There was something about this girl that made Seth instantly give her his full trust to a scary degree.
Immediately she assured, he didn’t hesitate to explain the situation to her, first of all starting with the president’s decision to separate soldiers.
The Shield Battalions and the Sword Divisions — he explained the issue about the mech shortage, and how this problem could be remedied.
Kylie folded her hands, furrowing her brows. "I see... so you’re wondering if initial Awakened Rank Bronze humans would be able to fit the requirements for this Gordon 342 battle suit?"
Seth nodded. That was the only solution he could come up with to help his Division members reach the required threshold of power needed to man the battle suits within the short time frame they were given.
And this solution all banked on if Kylie could pull it off... if not, they would have no choice but to postpone deployment of the divisions, or at least his division.
"Is it possible?" he asked.
Kylie didn’t need to think for long, and she nodded. "Based on the requirements you mentioned, helping your Division soldiers to become bronze humans will help them meet the requirements. But you have to understand that based on the scale we are talking, I’m not sure I can perfect their bronze state as I did mine."
Seth’s gaze gleamed. That he didn’t care about, as long as it wouldn’t have adverse effects on his soldiers. "Well, will there be any future consequences to the procedure?" Seth asked.
Kylie shook her head. "No, instead it will be more beneficial. Based on the scale of soldiers and short period of time, I can at most help them to reach a state of false bronze.
This won’t affect them negatively in the future. Instead it will make the possibility of them attaining the real bronze human state abysmally higher. I would estimate a single life-and-death encounter will be enough to ignite the spark."
Seth grinned widely, thrilled and relieved. It was possible!
And there would be no negative side effects! Actually, if he played his cards right, he might be able to push his entire division to attain the true bronze human state.
This... This would make the incoming battle easier, and less burdensome on him.
Seth stepped forward toward her out of excitement, causing Kylie to meet him in the eyes, and in an instant a familiar resonation sparked.
The same one she was avoiding, especially since there was a stranger in the room.
Meanwhile, the so‑called stranger Victor had silently observed the exchange between the two throughout, slowly digesting the information Seth relayed while also using this chance to gauge the level of relationship these two had based on this conversation exchange.
And from the beginning to this instant, where both fell into a dangerous silence lost in the eyes of one another, a painful pang pulsed in his heart.
Too comfortable! Too close! he determined in an instant. This guy Seth Duskreaver was a colossal threat!
How did he get Kylie to look at him like that? Was this even the same work‑focused cold goddess he knew?
Had he truly lost this battle before the war even began?
His fists clenched as the silence drew dangerously long, and a flicker of determination flashed in his eyes.
He had come so far, he had done so much just to win Kylie’s heart — there’s no way he was giving up!
Seth Duskreaver might be one of the strongest evolvers of humanity, but Victor Landen was one of the brightest minds of humanity.
And he was certain Kylie would prefer to be with him, a fellow scholar, than this chad!
Before then he had to assert his presence and stop being pushed into the circumstance that made him feel like a third wheel, like now!
Feigning a loud cough, he interrupted the two, walking right in between them.
He stared at Seth fearlessly, as though this wasn’t a man that could reduce him to pulp with a finger, and coldly stated:
"You seem to have forgotten something. Kylie won’t be able to do this alone. She would need my help!"
Seth initially frowned, seeing the rude interruption, but in hearing his words he had to swallow his rebuke.
The guy was right. If, as Kylie said, this guy was the reason she could assimilate and convert the bronze cells into stem cells...
It was a no‑brainer he would be needing this guy’s help too.
From behind, Kylie also frowned, displeased at Victor’s intervention, but also slightly relieved. She was this close to throwing herself into Seth’s arms.
She was worried if she did something as graceless as that, it would make Seth perceive her as a cheap lady.
And that couldn’t be further from the truth. I really need to find a way to resist this urge, she lamented inwardly.
But the truth was that whenever she met his eyes, the scene of earlier would resurface in her mind.
And she would be assaulted by all those feelings — the intrigue, the expectation, the thrill. And the irresistible urge to see it through.
Her mind craved it, her body craved it. The biological need was strong, and her hormones worked in its favor.
Back on Seth’s side, he stared at the man before him, frowning slightly, he asked. "This favor isn’t for me, it’s for the human race. It’s to win this war. Are you in or out?"
Victor grinned at these words. He folded his arms confidently, chuckling. "Who said I wasn’t going to help? I will, and it will come at a cost." He finalized with certainty.
