Qin Xin lifted her gaze lightly, "Isn’t Song Anjing still around?"
Qiu Gang was taken aback, "Song Anjing’s family is sick, she told the teacher and has been on leave these days. Didn’t she tell you?"
Qin Xin was also stunned for a moment.
These days have been busy with many things, Xiangxiang’s incident, the disappearance of the three little ones, and she indeed hadn’t seen Song Anjing for a long time.
By nature, she wasn’t one to continually ask about others’ well-being, and wouldn’t reach out to friends unless it was important.
For a moment, she hadn’t noticed anything happening with Anjing’s family.
She thought for a moment, opened her phone, and sent Song Anjing a message: "Is there anything I can help with? Just let me know."
A long while passed.
Song Anjing’s profile picture was still grayed out, no sign of being online, and no reply came.
This was very unusual. That girl chirped away almost every day, even if not chatting, she would send little jokes and funny pictures, being all cute.
Surprisingly, the chatter had stopped.
Qin Xin felt something was off, but she couldn’t pinpoint what. Maybe Anjing was back home, needing to accompany her sick family, so she hasn’t checked her phone?
She immediately called her.
Song Anjing’s phone was turned off.
"Where does she live?" Qin Xin asked.
Qiu Gang shook his head, "Never asked, my godmother, I’m too afraid to randomly ask girls where they live. Anjing is actually quite fierce, I’m scared that she’d misunderstand my intentions and give me a beating."
Qin Xin: "..."
She had known Anjing for so long, like really, didn’t remember ever hearing where Anjing’s family was from or who they were.
This girl just drank different flavored milk from morning till night.
You couldn’t tell if she was from a well-off family or a rich family from just looking at her.
After all, milk isn’t exactly a luxury food.
But drinking different rare flavors of milk every day wasn’t something an average family could afford.
Anjing was, honestly, quite mysterious.
Qin Xin pondered on it.
Checking Song Anjing’s background wouldn’t be difficult. If she gave the word, she could have all of Song Anjing’s information from the database in minutes.
But she truly didn’t have the habit of randomly digging into friends’ backgrounds.
Intruding on others’ privacy recklessly wasn’t her style.
Just as she was contemplating, her phone suddenly vibrated.
She frowned slightly, intending to hang up, but with Anjing on her mind, her finger slipped and she answered.
Qin Wenrou’s sharp voice darted from the other end:
"Qin Xin, you bastard, giving the heart to outsiders and not to me, you disgrace the Qin name!"
"Do you know it’s murder? You deliberately took my heart away, leaving me sick with no one to save me, why not just kill me directly?"
"People like you, Qin Xin, will face retribution. Do you think that with Mr. Nalan announcing the wedding, with worldwide shock, your marriage is secure?"
"You’re so naive! The last time I told you about selling blood, you dismissed it, right? Well, let me tell you directly this time, Mr. Nalan doesn’t love you, but his sister!"
"Don’t ask me how I know, everybody in the Nalan family knows, and Lan Yingjun knows too, only you don’t, or maybe you’re just deceiving yourself!"
"Qin Xin, are you proud of taking my heart today?"
"Sooner or later, Mr. Nalan’s sister will take all your blood, this is your retribution!"
Qin Wenrou received a notification from Lan Yingjun early in the morning. Before even entering the classroom, she was dealt a heavy blow, shattering her hopes for a heart transplant surgery.
In despair, she couldn’t resist calling Qin Xin to vent.
However, only a cold snort came through the phone —
