Chapter 408 - 225: Treasure Snatching

"Let’s see what the fifth member of the Purple Sun Sect’s Ten Heroes List is made of and find out if your reputation is well-deserved."

Li Haoning’s tone was filled with confidence and disdain.

In his eyes, Xu Yang couldn’t be very smart, naively assuming they would leave after he’d killed Song Wenxuan and the others. Even if such a person had some talent, he couldn’t be that formidable.

Even if there was genuine strife within Song Wenxuan’s group, they shouldn’t have been foolish enough to be defeated one by one.

BOOM!

With a mere flicker, he crossed several dozen feet in a single stride to appear before Xu Yang, unleashing the full might of his Marrow Cleansing Minor Achievement cultivation.

The next moment, a dazzling Fist Gang flared to life. His crimson fist tore through the air like an unstoppable meteor, unleashing a deafening shriek as a gale-force wind swept out.

Xu Yang’s robes whipped about loudly. Before the fist even reached him, the force of the wind sent his long hair flying.

His heavy eyelids lifted. He cast a casual glance at the man who sought to test the mettle of a genius from the Ten Heroes List, a faint, mocking smile playing on his lips.

’Li Haoning did have some strength, but in my eyes, it was nothing. He was just an ant I could swat dead with a wave of my hand.’

He couldn’t even be bothered to use his Gang Qi. The instant Li Haoning’s fist was about to land, a sharp TWANG, like a bowstring drawn taut, echoed from his body. His skin took on a faint, jade-like glow as he thrust his own fist out like a great spear.

BOOM!

The power of a physical body tempered to the Unmoving Bright King Body Minor Achievement was simply unimaginable. The roar of his muscles and bones seemed to form visible shockwaves around him—a terrifying sight.

Li Haoning’s pupils contracted violently. The Xu Yang before him suddenly seemed like a Fierce Dragon rousing from a deep slumber, and the sight made his scalp prickle with such terror it felt like it would burst.

BANG!

It sounded like a heavy hammer striking a leather drum—a dull, short thud. But it was as if the force was too great, shattering the drum in an instant, and the sound vanished as quickly as it came.

The look of horror on Li Haoning’s face froze before it could even fully form.

CRACK...

A series of sharp cracks echoed from within his body, as if every one of his bones had shattered at once. His chest and ribs caved in completely.

Blood mixed with fragments of his internal organs gushed from his mouth like a burst dam. It was as if all his bones had been removed in an instant; his body lost all support and crumpled limply to the ground, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief.

He died without even having the time to scream.

"Ah Ning!"

Seeing this, his older brother, Li Haoran, let out a roar of fury, his eyes nearly splitting from their sockets as he charged madly at Xu Yang.

He never imagined the fifth member of the Purple Sun Sect’s Ten Heroes List would be so savage, killing Li Haoning—a man of the same cultivation level—in a single move right before his very eyes.

"You bastard, you’re dead!"

Xie Chengyou was both shocked and enraged, his killing intent erupting like a volcano. He also had never expected Xu Yang to kill Li Haoning in a single move, shattering all his bones and reducing him to a pile of mush with one punch.

"Fourth Brother!"

Xie Chenglin let out a grief-stricken roar. His eyes instantly turned red as he, too, charged recklessly at Xu Yang.

"You little animal! I’ll carve you into a thousand pieces!"

The three figures radiated a monstrous killing intent, pouncing on Xu Yang from three different directions. Their eyes burned with a hatred so intense it was as if they wanted to swallow him whole and skin him alive.

Their furious power crashed down like a tsunami, cracking the very ground beneath them as it bore down madly on Xu Yang.

BOOM!

Yet, a piercingly sharp aura erupted from amidst the furious assault. Like a Treasure Saber drawn from its sheath, it sliced right through their overwhelming power.

Xu Yang’s entire body glowed golden. His aura was sharp and fierce, and he stood as firm as a majestic mountain against a crashing tsunami, completely unmoved.

"Die!"

Li Haoran swung the Half-Spirit Weapon in his hand, unleashing a blade of Sword Qi from a distance. It descended like a cascading waterfall of blood, accompanied by a deafening roar.

BOOM!

Xie Chengyou also attacked from afar, launching a tyrannical Fist Gang.

However, before their attacks could even land, Xu Yang’s figure vanished. Both attacks hit nothing but air.

RUMBLE...

The ground trembled as cracks spread and a column of dust and smoke shot into the sky.

A crater several meters wide had appeared where Xu Yang was standing, blasted open by the Sword Qi and Fist Gang.

"Not good!"

The expressions on Xie Chengyou’s and Li Haoran’s faces changed drastically.

ARGH...!

A bloodcurdling scream pierced the air. Xu Yang had appeared like a phantom before the weakest of the group, Xie Chenglin. He threw a single punch, sending the man straight to Yama, and deftly snatched the Spirit Medicine from his opponent’s robes as he did so.

Xie Chenglin sprayed a mouthful of blood, then went still the moment he hit the ground.

"Ah! You animal! You deserve to die!"

Xie Chengyou felt a pain so sharp it was as if his heart were being twisted by a knife, leaving him breathless. He couldn’t believe that even with two Marrow Cleansing Great Success masters attacking him, Xu Yang could still be so ruthless as to kill his younger brother in an instant.

’The ant I thought I could crush with a flick of my wrist has now killed two of us.’

"Your life is mine!"

Li Haoran’s killing intent reached a boiling point. He shot forward, flanking Xu Yang with Xie Chengyou on the other side. The Half-Spirit Weapon in his hand vibrated, tearing through the air.

Xu Yang’s gaze was icy, his fighting spirit surged. With a SHING, Red Blood appeared in his hand as a streak of crimson light, radiating the might of a Half-Spirit Weapon.

He lowered his stance, swung his arm, and with a backhanded upward slash, Red Blood drew a perfect arc to intercept Li Haoran’s descending blade.

CLANG!

The two sabers clashed. Vigorous Energy erupted, sending sparks flying. Red Blood hung steady in the air.

Li Haoran’s blade, however, bent into a deep arc, as if about to snap, letting out a pained groan under the strain.

"’How is this possible...’" Li Haoran’s face twisted in horror.

’This pretty boy across from me isn’t human at all. He’s a humanoid beast, a savage creature from some ancient, barbaric era.’
