Mud's Mission Novel

From a dying mage's final act, a new being is born with a world-altering mission. Within a labyrinthine town overflowing with hidden knowledge, an aged hermit mage was meticulously crafting a simple spell. His intention was modest: to create a mud automaton, a humble servant for his declining days. However, as the spell matured and the earth began to form, the mage's life force extinguished. The resulting creation, a being of living mud, awakens incomplete and with a nascent consciousness. Lacking memories or a full grasp of its surroundings, it nonetheless embodies its creator's last, absolute decree: "Defend my home, and my possessions." This newly formed artificial mind perceives this command as paramount, tasked with safeguarding its Master's dwelling and everything within from any perceived threat, regardless of its scale.
