The night after the fall, I found Yuria on the roof. She didn’t speak at first.
Just sat barefoot on the cold stone, eyes tracing the stars.
"You okay?" I asked.
"No."
"Want to talk?"
She shook her head.
But after a while, she whispered, "I’m scared you’re going to win."
I blinked. "That’s a new one."
She smiled bitterly. "Because if you win, it means we’ll have to live. Rebuild. Forgive. And I don’t know if I can."
I didn’t say anything.
Just sat beside her.
And let the silence say we’d figure it out together.
