Chapter 74 - 75/Did something really happen between us?

Chapter 75:

Julie’s Point of View

I pulled my tired body from the bed and rubbed my eyes, trying to grasp the situation, and said in a hoarse voice:

"What is it... what brought you here so early in the morning?"

She didn’t answer; instead, she stepped aside to make way for a guard who was dragging a massive metal clothes rack behind him,

crowded with fabric pieces of various colors and shapes, followed by another guard carrying shoeboxes stacked on top of each other.

I furrowed my brows and looked at the crowded clothes rack in confusion, asking in a low voice:

"What are these clothes?"

Olivia adjusted her stance after the guards left the room, tapping her forefinger on the edge of her crossed arm, saying sarcastically:

"They are your work clothes... for you don’t intend to work as a personal assistant for Mr. Robert in these pajamas of yours, do you?"

I moved toward the clothes with slow steps, reaching out to feel the fabrics; there were long flowing dresses, fabric trousers carefully pressed, and classic shirts with stiff collars.

They were pieces that truly suited an employee in a prestigious company, not a girl in a nightclub.

I raised my gaze to her and said in amazement:

"Anyone who sees these clothes would think I’m going to work in a massive commercial establishment."

Her eyes narrowed as she scrutinized me with a lethal coldness, and she said in a voice dripping with poison:

"I truly don’t know why Mr. Robert chose you to be his personal assistant."

The same question was gnawing at my mind like a maggot, but I lifted my chin high, trying to regain my pride, and said:

"I don’t know... ask him."

At that moment, she took a step toward me, the veins in her neck protruding as she looked at me with a terrifying intensity:

"Is it because you seduced him with your cheap methods?"

I felt my blood boil, and I gritted my teeth hard until my jaw almost cramped, and answered her with a rage that made my chest rise and fall violently:

"Respect your words, Olivia... for I am not like you!"

She didn’t back down; instead, a cold malicious smile formed on her face, and she tilted her head sideways while eyeing me with a look of contempt, then said in a provocative calmness:

"Really?... And was I the one he carried in his arms two days ago, wrapping my hands around his neck while I laughed?"

A violent shock struck me, freezing the blood in my veins as I heard her last sentence,

and I felt as if the ground were shaking beneath my feet.

My pupils dilated in shock, and I said in a fragmented voice that I tried to make indignant:

"What are you saying, you crazy woman? Did you imagine this in your head?"

She stepped toward me with confident strides, and the distance between us shrank until I felt her sharp breath, and she said with a hiss dripping with poison:

"Don’t lie, Julie... the guard saw you."

At that moment, I felt a sharp sting in my head; I remembered the night I lost control and drank until I was completely intoxicated.

I swallowed with difficulty, feeling a coldness running through my limbs as I asked myself bitterly:

"Did he really carry me when I was drunk? Was I in his lap?"

I began to rub my forehead with trembling fingers, trying to expel those bad thoughts that had started to prey on my mind, and I said to her in a shaky tone, my body jerking with a slight shiver:

"Impossible... I don’t remember this happening at all! You are inventing lies."

Olivia leaned her body toward me, and her cold breath brushed my ear as she whispered with a poisoned hiss:

"Your promotion from a mere commodity to a personal assistant... we all know how these things happen, Julie."

I froze in my place, feeling a bitter lump choking my throat.

I swallowed with great difficulty, while my fingers intertwined behind my back in a desperate attempt to hide my trembling, and said in a faint, wavering voice:

"Nothing happened... and regarding him carrying me, I don’t remember that because... because I was drunk."

At that moment, a twisted smile dripping with malice formed on Olivia’s lips, and she examined my body with a look of contempt that made me feel as if I were naked before her.

She took an additional step until my knee struck the edge of the bed, and said in a sharp, bold tone that shook my entire being:

Who are you kidding, little girl?... I know that his dick has entered your pussy.’"

When I heard those words, I felt as if a thunderbolt had struck me fatally; the air froze in my lungs and my pupils dilated in a shock that completely paralyzed my limbs.

I remained standing in my place, my body trembling with a slight, invisible shiver, but I could feel it in the marrow of my bones.

I looked at her, and at the lethal coldness in her eyes, and swallowed a bitter lump that almost choked me before saying in a voice that came out shaky yet sharp as a blade:

"I cannot descend to your level, Olivia... no matter how hard I try to reach you, you reside in the lowliest depths."

She tilted her head to the other side with a provocative slowness, raising her eyebrow as she eyed me with a scrutinizing look, and replied in a calm tone dripping with poison:

"There is no need to hide the truth, Julie... just admit it, it will be easier for you."

I felt the heat of rage and insult burning my cheeks, so I stepped toward her, pointing a trembling finger toward the door, and shouted at her:

"Get out! Go on... let me put on my clothes!"

She let out a ringing, mocking laugh that sent a shiver down my spine, then turned with all her poisoned elegance as she headed toward the exit, saying sarcastically:

"A wonderful way to escape, Julie... a wonderful way."

As soon as the door closed behind her, I collapsed while standing, leaning with a trembling hand on the edge of the bed.

I felt a slight dizziness making the room spin around me, and I dug my nails into my palms until I felt the pain stinging my skin.

I began to ask myself in a faint hiss, while doubts preyed on my mind like fierce beasts:

"Did this really happen? Is it possible that he touched me... and I remember nothing?
