Chapter 573 - 371: The Lover Preparing to Flee (10)

Frankly, the two sisters weren’t in any special mood. They just knew they didn’t feel good about the situation. But when Chen Yuan just flopped onto the bed so casually, they couldn’t just ignore him.

They always ended up in situations like this. Ultimately, it was because they were too soft-hearted.

’Perhaps the good old days of their relationship were just too perfect, leaving a lingering tenderness in their hearts. It turned out that something being *too* perfect was its own kind of mistake... one that traps you in a quagmire with no escape.’

Rather than let him contaminate the clean bedsheets with the reek of alcohol, Jiangg Ning would rather put up with her frustration and get him properly sorted out. Besides, it wasn’t as if she had never helped him take off his clothes before.

The issue for her wasn’t about the boundaries of their relationship at all. It was about making Chen Yuan see her stance. That was more important than anything else.

’He’s drunk anyway. He’ll probably forget everything by tomorrow morning, so helping him undress tonight isn’t that big of a deal. When he wakes up, I’ll just leave my sister to deal with it.’

With that thought, Jiangg Ning reached out and silently undid his belt.

"Lift his legs."

"I know." Jiangg Yao tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and deftly reached out.

Chen Yuan had been perfectly fine when he left in the morning, but now he’d returned dead drunk. Jiangg Yao’s heart ached to see him like this, and a big reason she had insisted her sister come over was out of resentment.

’She was no doting little housewife. How could she send a perfectly healthy person out, only to get a drunken lout back?’

In just a few moments, the two of them had Chen Yuan settled. They still didn’t cover him with the blanket, leaving him to lie there completely bare. The sisters exchanged a look and fell into a shared silence, kneeling on either side of him. Though their thoughts were different, both of them were staring at his body on the bed.

Soft, warm light spilled from the ceiling, like a holy aura, gently caressing his entire body.

Chen Yuan had an excellent physique—and this was meant as a wholesome, positive compliment, not in any suggestive way. He was only nineteen, the prime of his youth. Every muscle on his body was lean and firm, his skin was in great condition, and he had a light definition of abs and pectoral muscles. He was clearly the strong, athletic type.

The human form possesses a unique allure, one that artists can sculpt to capture a distinct spiritual grace. Among these, the physique of a young man holds a special place.

’He’s very handsome, honestly.’

This was the mutual thought that surfaced in both sisters’ minds.

Although they had seen it many times before, in this atmosphere, this scene... it evoked an indescribable feeling.

Perhaps sensing the oddness of the moment, Jiangg Yao glanced at her sister. She bit her lip, a strange surge of jealousy welling up inside her, and reached out to give his chest a sharp SLAP.

It was by no means a light blow, and it left a clear red handprint behind.

"Hiss—"

Chen Yuan couldn’t help but cry out in pain. He pried open his drowsy eyes, his whole face scrunched up. "What was that for?" he rasped. "I’m trying to sleep."

He shouldn’t have opened his eyes.

The moment he did, Chen Yuan found the ceiling light blinding, and a powerful wave of dizziness washed over him.

The nausea he had been suppressing surged upward with a vengeance.

Losing control, he whipped his body around.

"BLEGH—"

"Sir, are you okay?" Jiangg Yao scrambled over to pat his back.

She hadn’t expected that one slap would actually make Chen Yuan vomit.

The harsh, acrid smell of alcohol mixed with stomach acid was a horrifying onslaught. It filled the entire room in an instant, spreading without restraint. A puddle of something difficult to look at now stained the floor—the very culprit that had been churning in his stomach.

Jiangg Ning immediately jumped off the bed and grabbed a handful of tissues. Without a second thought, and with no regard for her usual neatness, she wadded them up and wiped the saliva from the corner of Chen Yuan’s mouth.

"It’s okay, you got it out, sweetheart... I know you feel awful, but now you’ll be able to sleep tonight..."

She stroked Chen Yuan’s hair. The worried look on her face and the softness in her expression made Ningning herself seem to glow with a saintly radiance.

In that moment, the two sisters cared about nothing else.

The instant he threw up, their true feelings were laid bare. It was a subconscious reaction.

"COUGH, COUGH!" Chen Yuan’s face was flushed. He hadn’t expected to actually vomit.

His throat burned.

When he turned back over, panting heavily, the waves of nausea began to subside, and he felt much better.

"I’ll get a mop. Yaoyao, help him sit up. Have him rinse his mouth and drink some water."

"Okay!"

"Remember, don’t give him the sobriety pills now. Let him rest a bit, then give him the liver support tablets."

"I know."

Jiangg Yao quickly wiped his mouth as well, while helping Chen Yuan sit upright again.

"Honestly, what kind of people were you drinking with to get this wasted?" she couldn’t help but mutter, her hands never ceasing their work.

"I want some water..." Chen Yuan said, his voice full of discomfort.

"It’s right here. I’ll help you, be careful not to spill... Drink a little slower. Yes, just like that, small sips... Rinse your mouth, I’ll get you the trash can."

"It stinks so much."

"It’s fine. My sister and I will clean it up later. You just focus on drinking your water. Oh, right, the wet wipes..."

After helping him finish his water, Jiangg Yao got off the bed and scurried over to the vanity table outside. She rummaged around for a moment, found the wet wipes, and returned. Pulling out two, she began to carefully wipe Chen Yuan’s face.
