The Rain Pours Down

Chapter 379 - 378: Jiang Zuo Has 100 Ways to Sever It

In a secret chamber within the Holy Land, Su Qi looked at her senior sister and asked, "Sister, what’s left to study about the Saintess Mark?"

Jingyue looked at Su Qi and said, "Ready to play the scorned wife again?"

"Sister, our life is wonderful right now. I’m not resentful in the slightest."

"Oh? And who was fuming this morning? You sulked all night. How does that not make you a scorned wife?"

Su Qi: "..."

Jingyue said, "So he didn’t call you. He’s not a child."

Su Qi huffed. "This has happened several times. If he doesn’t notify me next time, I’ll get genuinely angry."

Jingyue rolled her eyes. "It’s happened so many times that it’s become normal.

Besides, your husband has no interest in other women. You don’t have to worry about him having an affair."

Su Qi asked curiously, "How would you know, Sister?"

Jingyue looked at Su Qi as if she were an idiot. "Are you dense? Is there a single Candidacy Saintess who isn’t beautiful? We all appeared before him, and his eyes were completely tranquil.

I bet if I weren’t your sister, he would have completely ignored all of us back then."

Su Qi frowned as she looked at her senior sister and junior sisters. They were all genuinely beautiful, especially her sister, who was stunning.

And it wasn’t just one of them; the five of them together had a charm so potent that even she was captivated.

So Su Qi asked, puzzled, "That can’t be right. He fell for my beauty in the first place. Even though I don’t think beauty is that important anymore, isn’t it normal for a man to appreciate pretty women?"

Jingyue shook her head. "In that case, I think your husband has become abnormal under your thumb. If a woman threw herself at him, he’d probably draw his sword and send her on her way with a cut."

"Draw his sword and send her on her way with a cut?" Su Qi asked, startled.

"Wasn’t that it? Or was it draw his blade and give her a stab?" Jingyue didn’t get hung up on it. "Never mind that. Let’s get down to business."

Qing Lian and the others watched Jiu Xi and the Saintess, their faces a mask of confusion. They couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

’The gap between us and our two senior sisters is still so vast.’

How could it not be?

Both of them could fly the moment they entered Tier Three.

They’d be lucky if they could even attempt to fly by the time they reached Tier Three Peak.

Thankfully, the topic returned to the matter at hand. Qing Lian asked, "Holy Sister, what exactly are we going to do?"

Jingyue smiled mysteriously. "Hand over your Saintess Marks."

Su Qi said excitedly, "Does this mean we don’t have to be Candidacy Saintesses anymore?"

"In your dreams," Jingyue replied ruthlessly.

Then Jingyue explained, "I am the Saintess, so I have a certain level of authority. However, I’ve found that I can’t activate the seventh leaf on my own. I want to stack your authority on top of mine and force it to activate."

Just then, Xiaoxiao asked, "Holy Sister, there are only six of us, right? Why is there a seventh leaf?"

Jingyue smiled at Xiaoxiao and said, "Because we have a seventh Saintess. (A Candidacy Saintess is still a Saintess, after all.)"

Qing Lian and the others grew even more confused. "But why don’t any of us know about this? When did it happen?"

Jingyue kept her smile. "Because this Candidacy Saintess is rather shy, and his appearance was so sudden that the entire Holy Land hasn’t had time to process it.

Moreover, his identity remains a mystery. The only thing we know is that he’s a male Candidacy Saintess with a thing for pretty ladies."

The way the Saintess spoke was so odd it frightened them.

The moment it registered, they cried out, "What?!"

A male Candidacy Saintess? Since when could a Saintess be a man?

This was just too ridiculous, wasn’t it?

Jingyue waved her hand calmly. "Don’t be so shocked. Anything can happen these days. Men can even become women. So, in the spirit of gender equality, having a male Candidacy Saintess is no big deal."

In truth, when Jingyue had first learned of it, her own jaw had nearly hit the floor.

At this point, Qing Lian asked, "But... a male Candidacy Saintess... is it appropriate for him to be with us?

Especially during the rites. It would feel wrong to suddenly have a man among us."

It was indeed inconvenient, but Jingyue wasn’t concerned. Her smile vanished as she said seriously, "Don’t worry about that. This Candidacy Saintess came about by exploiting a loophole. We’re currently trying to find him and get him to relinquish his status.

As for the normal duties of a Candidacy Saintess, he is exempt from all of them."

This was a special privilege for the male Candidacy Saintess, it seemed.

Qing Lian and the others didn’t ask any more questions. They had so much they wanted to ask, but they didn’t know where to begin.

’If it weren’t for the problem with the Mark, we probably wouldn’t be allowed to know any of this yet.’

After all, the whole thing was a bit outrageous.

Then there were those visions. They didn’t know what they were, but the Holy Sister had said it was a huge secret.

They didn’t dare ask about it.

Su Qi, on the other hand, knew a great deal, and she had even told her husband. That was why she didn’t dare say another word on the topic.

’If anyone finds out, both my husband and I will be in for a beating.’

Still, she asked, "Sister, what do we need to do now?"

Jingyue grinned. "Join hands, link hearts, and let me take control."

Jingyue then took Su Qi’s and Qing Lian’s hands. "Come on, let’s all join hands."

Su Qi and the others began to join hands. Once they had formed a circle, Jingyue said, "Alright, close your eyes. I will guide you with the Mark. Remember to keep your minds perfectly calm.

Especially you, my little scorned wife. Don’t let your thoughts wander."

Su Qi was indignant. When it came to serious business, she would *not* get distracted by thoughts of her husband.

Then everyone closed their eyes. Jingyue’s Mark began to flash. Then Su Qi’s Mark followed suit, and then Qing Lian’s, Xueyu’s, Yiruo’s, and Xiaoxiao’s—all their Marks began to flash in time with Jingyue’s.

Then, they all felt as if they were standing on leaves.

The next moment, they all received a message:

[Do you wish to accept the connection from Saintess Jingyue?]

[Yes/No]

Su Qi and the others didn’t hesitate, all choosing ’Yes’.

Immediately, they saw the leaves they stood upon begin to connect.

Jingyue, for her part, could already feel it. She had enough authority. She then tapped the gray leaf.

A new message appeared:

[Forcibly invite the unknown Candidacy Saintess to come online?]

[Yes/No]

’Was there even a need to ask?’

Yes.

Jingyue then began to wait for the other party to come online.

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before a new message arrived:

[The unknown Candidacy Saintess has rejected the invitation. Invitation failed.]

PFFT...

’I thought this was a *forced* invitation?’

’Why could he refuse?’

’He’s showing me, the administrator, absolutely no respect! Once I find out who he is, I’m definitely going to block his permissions.’

******

Meanwhile, Jiang Zuo was also completely baffled.

He had just received a message from the Mark:

[Saintess Jingyue is forcibly inviting you online. Commencing connection.]

Jiang Zuo was stunned. ’She’s actually using her authority to force me online. Sister Jingyue is so shameless.’

Jiang Zuo immediately prepared to sever the connection from the Mark. ’It’s just a Candidacy Saintess position. If worst comes to worst, I’ll just give it up.’

’Forcing me to go online?’

’In her dreams.’

However, this type of connection was unique; an ordinary person would be unable to sever it.

But Jiang Zuo had a hundred ways to do just that.

As if sensing Jiang Zuo’s intent, a new message appeared:

[Connection terminated. Saintess Jingyue invites you to come online. Do you agree?]

[Yes/No]

"..."

No.

Recommending a new book, "The Omnipotent Veterinarian System," by author Demon King Bu’er. It’s a lighthearted story, and the author releases new Chapters like a machine.

Feel free to check it out if you’re interested. I’m not posting the synopsis here, as that would add to the word count fee.
