The Rain Pours Down

Chapter 427 - 426: A Gigantic Curse

You Si looked at Qin Qianning, and Qin Qianning gave a mischievous smile.

The scene then shifted rapidly, as if on fast-forward.

Soon, the scene came to a halt. It was the same location as before, where an exceptionally beautiful young woman and a man in white stood in the Cursed Lake Water.

The two were Qin Qianning and an altered version of You Si—the Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion.

At that moment, Qin Qianning smiled. "Hey, I’m Tier Nine now. I can pour everything I have into casting a massive curse."

The Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion smiled. "Yes, I’ll help. But you’ll be weakened for some time after this curse."

Qin Qianning said, "I’m not afraid. My brother’s here, so no one can hurt me anyway."

The Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion smiled. "I’ll protect you too. Let’s begin."

Qin Qianning hugged the Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion. "Aren’t you going to ask what kind of curse I’m casting? I’m putting everything into this one, including my very ability to curse.

Don’t you want to know what it is?

Aren’t you afraid I’ll cast some vicious curse?"

The Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion stroked Qin Qianning’s hair and smiled. "Go ahead. I can’t wait."

Qin Qianning grinned. "You’re the one who said it."

Then she waved to the man on the shore. "Brother, help me channel the power! I’m going to cast a curse he can never break!"

From the shore, Qin Tian said coldly, "Nonsense."

Despite his words, Qin Tian still drew upon the nearby Curse Power to help Qin Qianning cast her curse.

"No regrets, okay?" With that, Curse Power surged into Qin Qianning’s body, and an immensely powerful curse enveloped the Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion.

The incantation was completed, and the terrifying curse began to seep into the Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion’s body.

The immense curse filled the area with a cursed aura as the Curse Power spread relentlessly.

On the shore, Qin Tian sighed. In the end, he severed this space from the world, turning it into a Secret Realm to prevent the Curse Power from spreading.

If it were to expand any further, countless people would lose their lives to the curse.

As the curse continued, Qin Tian frowned once more from the shore. ’Trouble. That being has been awakened. Whatever. I agreed to the girl’s whims; I should have known cleaning up the mess wouldn’t be easy.

’Good thing I made preparations beforehand. The impact shouldn’t be too severe.’

Seeing this, Jiang Zuo was a little surprised. ’Qin Tian actually made specific preparations.’

’If those preparations are still around, then perhaps the problem won’t be too serious.’

Just as Jiang Zuo wanted to see what happened next...

The "show" suddenly cut off.

’It’s over?’

Jiang Zuo: "..."

’It cut off at the most critical moment?’

Jiang Zuo felt a sense of exasperation. He shook his head and headed directly for the palace.

’Come to think of it, I have no idea where the Master of Curses came from. If the title has always belonged to the same person, that would mean they’ve existed since ancient times, either sealed away or in a deep slumber.

Then they woke up, only to run into Qin Tian.

And were forced back into slumber.’

When Jiang Zuo stopped, Chen An and the others didn’t dare to ask. Now that he was moving again, they naturally wanted to follow.

But the Curse Power emanating from the palace was truly terrifying.

Chen An couldn’t help but ask, "Senior, isn’t it too reckless to go in just like that?"

Jiang Zuo said, "You all should wait outside."

Xiaoxiao suddenly asked, "What will happen if we follow you inside?"

Xiaoxiao was a Candidacy Saintess, and she knew that she would enter a special state whenever she encountered a place rich with information.

However, such places were rarely ordinary.

This palace was clearly extraordinary, which was why she wanted to go in and have a look.

"You will die," Jiang Zuo replied.

Xiaoxiao froze, then didn’t dare to follow any further.

Chen An and the others didn’t dare to follow either.

Jiang Zuo wasn’t lying. If they followed him inside, death would be certain.

The Curse Power inside was no joke. Jiang Zuo could ignore it, but these people could not.

As for protecting them himself, Jiang Zuo couldn’t be bothered.

However, they should be fine if they just waited outside.

’Those people from before probably got presumptuous and went inside to investigate.

Then they discovered they couldn’t withstand the Curse Power at all and managed to retreat just in time.

That’s why they ended up in that state from before, on the verge of being completely corrupted.

Though their fate is currently unknown, if I had acted any later, they probably would have dissolved completely into Curse Power, left to wander this area.’

As for Jiang Zuo himself, this Curse Power had no effect on him.

He had researched curses himself. After all, during the months he’d spent in hiding, he had certainly studied them out of boredom. He originally intended to use his research to deal with Jiu Xi, but alas, it was useless.

The pinnacle of curses was still inferior to his own Dao.

Besides, at the later stages of cultivation, curses became somewhat lackluster when used between two experts of the same level.

Jiang Zuo then walked into the palace. Curse Power was emanating from within, but it wasn’t originating from the palace itself, but rather from beneath it.

Instead of immediately searching for the source of the curse beneath the palace, Jiang Zuo decided to see if there was anything of interest inside it first.

The palace was vast but not complex, consisting of little more than a single great hall.

Inside, Jiang Zuo saw a stone statue.

Jiang Zuo quickly approached the statue. To his surprise, it was a turtle with a comical, smiling face.

Jiang Zuo: "..."

’Who left this statue behind?’

’It had to be Qin Qianning,’ Jiang Zuo thought.

’The Lord of the Immortal Spirit Mansion didn’t have such a warped sense of humor, and Qin Tian was clearly a serious person.’

’Only Qin Qianning had this type of personality.’

But the statue had no inscription, which left Jiang Zuo at a loss. Without any explanation, he had no idea what it was supposed to mean.

He was certain, however, that it didn’t serve any practical purpose, like being part of an Array.

Nor could it possibly be related to the grand cosmic configuration.

As Jiang Zuo walked around the statue to see if anything was behind it, he froze once again.

There was actually a person behind the statue.

"F-Fellow Daoist, can you help me?" The speaker was a Fairy.

Jiang Zuo glanced at her, then continued looking at the area behind the statue.

He recognized her, but since she wasn’t in any life-threatening danger, he had no desire to save her.

’That’s the second one now. Why are these Candidacy Saintesses so pathetic?’

That’s right, this was another Candidacy Saintess: the "cute" Xueyu.

But her cuteness had no effect on Jiang Zuo.

Jiang Zuo then inspected the back of the statue and found several lines of text carved there: *Of the Four Holy Beasts, the Xuanwu Race is the cutest.*

*I really want to raise one, but my brother raised the Four Great Fierce Beasts instead.*

*This statue is a tribute to my hobby. To all who come after and see this, please leave a review.*

*—Qian Ling (alias)*

Jiang Zuo: "..."

’Is this person nuts?’

Of course, what was even crazier was that there were actual reviews underneath.

Five stars. Although I’ve never seen the Four Holy Beasts, the Black Tortoise Stone Statue left by this fellow Daoist is a work of sheer Mastery. It looks just like a turtle.

May I ask, fellow Daoist, do you hold a grudge against the Xuanwu Race?

—Daoist Tianyao (real name)

One-Star. I stumbled into this Secret Realm and was fortunate enough to see the divine Xuanwu statue. Unfortunately, it fails to capture the majesty of the Xuanwu Race.

The previous poster is right. It looks exactly like a turtle, which is an utter insult to the sacred majesty of the Xuanwu Race, one of the Holy Beasts.

—Qi Qing Fairy (real name)

Jiang Zuo was at a loss for words with these people.
