Chapter 515: Foolish Husband 8

"Sis, I made two steamed egg custards today. You won’t eat them all by yourself, will you?" Yuan Chun placed the egg custard in front of herself, glaring at Zhao Dongxiu, who was trembling with anger. "No way, sis, these eggs were brought from home by me, not bought by you. Why should you eat them alone and not let me have any? At home, I could eat eggs, but now, I’m here taking care of the child for you, yet I can’t even have eggs I brought myself. Sis, you’re being too stingy."

Zhao Dongxiu was furious, even with her thick skin, she couldn’t stomach it anymore.

She said angrily, "Wei Yuanchun, if you want to eat, you can have them all. I’m going to work."

Zhao Dongxiu slammed the door shut, waking up Da Bao, who was sleeping inside.

Da Bao cried out loud.

Yuan Chun had no choice but to put down her chopsticks, go to her brother’s and sister-in-law’s room, make formula for Da Bao, change his diaper, and rock him to sleep before coming out to eat breakfast.

After breakfast, Yuan Chun washed the dishes, tidied up the household chores a bit, and then sat down at the table, took her big brother’s pen, and wrote an article.

After graduating from high school, the original owner looked for a job in the county town, but finding a job isn’t easy; any vacancies at factories would be taken by insiders.

The original owner couldn’t find a job, and the parents couldn’t bear to let their daughter work in the fields for work points, so they sent their daughter to the provincial capital to help take care of their eldest grandson.

Actually, Mr. Wei and Mrs. Wei had another purpose; they wanted their daughter to find a good match at the steel factory. After all, their daughter is pretty, a high school graduate, and with Wei Yuanfang, her brother in the factory, finding a match should be easy.

Mr. Wei and Mrs. Wei told this idea to Wei Yuanfang but did not tell the original owner.

However, Wei Yuanfang still didn’t want his sister to marry. He hoped once his son Da Bao was a bit older, he could go to the factory kindergarten, and then he’d help his sister find a good match.

However, Yuan Chun didn’t want to live days with an empty pocket.

Wei Yuanfang’s salary was all in Zhao Dongxiu’s hands. Once the money went into her pocket, there was no chance of getting it back.

Moreover, Wei Yuanfang was under his wife’s thumb; asking him to secretly give his sister spending money was out of the question.

Yuan Chun was busy with her nephew, leaving her no time to find a job, so she planned to write some articles to send to the provincial capital newspaper and Beijing newspaper.

Yuan Chun wrote four articles in one go; Da Bao woke up too.

Yuan Chun made formula for Da Bao to drink, changed his diaper, and then took Da Bao to the post office.

After mailing the articles to the Beijing newspaper and provincial capital newspaper, Yuan Chun carried her nephew back.

No choice but to return, the original owner didn’t have a penny on her, and the ten yuan of pocket money her parents gave had been foolishly supplemented into grocery money bit by bit.

Zhao Dongxiu was stingy and calculating, calculating every penny of grocery money she gave to the original owner, wishing the original owner would buy back vegetables worth two cents for one cent.

If the vegetables were bought insufficiently, there wouldn’t be enough to eat, and Zhao Dongxiu would grumble and even insinuate that the original owner hid her money.

The original owner was strong-willed and couldn’t tolerate this, and because she didn’t want her brother to be caught in the middle, the original owner foolishly put her private money into grocery money.

Yuan Chun snorted coldly, went back home, put the sleeping Da Bao on the bed, went to the cupboard, soaked some black fungus and some purslane.

At noon, Yuan Chun stir-fried a dish of black fungus with eggs, made a cold dish of dried purslane, and cooked a pot of sweet potato rice.
