Not only were their clothes not warm, all eight of them looked gaunt and sallow.
It was obvious at a glance that they hadn’t had a full meal in a long time.
While Jiang Ran was scrutinizing them, the woman had already reached out her hand, clearly intending to touch Pei Huai.
Pei Huai showed no expression, and even took a step back when the woman approached.
The distance Pei Huai maintained was plainly written on his face.

Pei Huai was not someone who discriminated against others due to dirt or messiness.
His reaction could only mean that the relationship was not close enough.

Seeing Pei Huai step back, the woman wasn’t angry or hesitant. Instead, she rubbed her hands on her clothes.
"My hands are dirty, my hands are dirty. Pei Huai, you remember me, right? I’m your aunt!"
Saying this, the woman turned sideways, pointing at the man behind her, "Look, this is your uncle!"
At this point, the man also nodded slightly to Pei Huai as a greeting.

"Sister-in-law! Cuilan! I’m your sister-in-law!"
She shouted, and in no time at all, she had rushed up to Wang Cuilan.
Her sudden appearance successfully stunned Wang Cuilan.
The woman reached out, attempting to hug Wang Cuilan, and it was at this point that Wang Cuilan snapped out of her daze and quickly took two steps back to avoid her.
Wang Cuilan’s retreating motion was exactly the same as Pei Huai’s earlier.
No wonder they were mother and son.
Jiang Ran was still marveling at this when Wang Cuilan spoke up.
"And you are?"
The woman seemed not to have anticipated that despite having called out ’sister-in-law,’ Wang Cuilan would still ask who she was.
Momentarily at a loss for words, it took her a while to say, "Cuilan, I’m your sister-in-law! Isn’t this your brother? How could you not recognize us after just a little while?"
After hearing this, it was as if Wang Cuilan suddenly remembered something, and she said with a sudden realization, "Oh, so it’s you! It’s been twenty years; it’s only natural not to recognize you."
As she spoke, Wang Cuilan looked the woman up and down, "How did you find your way here?"
