Chapter 666 - 669: Handing Out Red Envelopes

Upon hearing Jiang Ran say this, Wang Cuilan burst into laughter.

"Indeed! Now that you mention it, it really seems that way."

As they spoke, the two turned to look at Pei Huai.

Pei Huai, being watched by the two, also smiled but said nothing.

What could he say?

Of course, whatever mother and wife say, that’s how it is.

It was already very late, and they had kept the vigil well into the night. The few of them didn’t continue chatting but hurried back to their rooms for some rest.

It was already past twelve o’clock, and they would have to wake up early in the morning. There wouldn’t be much time to sleep, so if they didn’t seize the chance to rest, it would be a tough day.

Even though there were some uninvited guests at home, which was not very pleasant, Jiang Ran always slept well.

Once she lay down, Jiang Ran quickly fell asleep.

Furthermore, she slept soundly until the next morning.

In the morning, Jiang Ran was woken up by the sound of firecrackers.

Listening to the crackling sound of firecrackers outside, Jiang Ran opened her eyes and immediately saw Pei Jing’s smiling face.

Pei Jing didn’t know when he had woken up; his little face was flushed and full of smiles, looking very energetic.

Seeing Jiang Ran look over, Pei Jing opened his mouth with a smile.

"Mom, Happy New Year! Wishing you prosperity!"

Upon hearing Pei Jing, Jiang Ran reached out and gently stroked Pei Jing’s little head.

"Happy New Year, Little Jing! I hope you stay healthy and happy in the new year!"

No matter when, one should never lack a sense of ceremony, nor fail to express themselves.

Knowing it in the heart is one thing, but hearing it with one’s own ears is another.

After exchanging New Year greetings, Jiang Ran helped Pei Jing put on his new clothes and then dressed herself in new clothes too.

This time of year had a very festive atmosphere, and children looked forward to it.

Once Jiang Ran was dressed, Pei Jing eagerly ran towards the door.

Opening the door, Pei Jing exclaimed, "Mom, it’s snowing."

It snowed a bit yesterday, but it stopped by evening.

Unexpectedly, when they woke up early today, it was snowing heavily outside.

In front of them were swirling snowflakes, the sound of firecrackers echoed near and far, and the scent of gunpowder lingered in the air.

Not to mention the bright red spring couplets pasted around the courtyard, the festive spirit was simply overwhelming.

Jiang Ran smiled with her eyes squinting and, after closing the door, led Pei Jing to wash up.

At this time, the sky hadn’t even brightened yet!

But every room’s light was on, as were the lanterns under the corridor, making visibility not an issue.

After washing up, they went to the living room. As soon as they entered, they saw Wang Cuilan and Pei Baoshan sitting upright.

The two wore very festive clothes today; the upper part was a bright red embroidered Tang suit, and the lower part was black pants.

These were made by Jiang Ran, every stitch stitched by her.

Not only the two of them, but Pei Jing also wore a matching outfit.

When kids and elderly people wear such clothes, they look especially joyful and festive.

Upon seeing Jiang Ran and Pei Jing, Wang Cuilan and Pei Baoshan smiled broadly.

"Come, come, it’s time to give out red envelopes," Wang Cuilan called out.

During the New Year!

It’s a must to give red envelopes.

The amount doesn’t matter; what matters is the good fortune.

This is also a blessing from the elders.

So even Jiang Ran didn’t refuse, she walked over with a smile.
