Chapter 675 - 678: Then Let Them Make a Fuss

"As the saying goes, ’If you don’t listen to the elderly, you’ll suffer the consequences.’ I’m only doing this for her own good..."

Xu Yufen wanted to continue rambling, but seeing Wang Cuilan’s face growing increasingly grim, she wisely shut her mouth.

Watching Xu Yufen turn and leave towards the West Cross Courtyard, Wang Cuilan finally let out a light sigh of relief.

Wu Qian, Jiang Ran are still working with their family’s company.

If Xu Yufen’s nonsense here causes issues with that cooperation...

Wang Cuilan could hardly bear to imagine further.

The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to just expel Xu Yufen.

Taking a deep breath, adjusting the expression on her face, Wang Cuilan finally lifted the curtain again and went inside.

As soon as she entered, Pei Baoshu’s family stood up, led by Pei Baoshu, and left silently.

Seeing them all leave, Pei Baoshan awkwardly smiled at Wu Qian.

"It’s the New Year... you came to extend greetings... and ended up watching a joke."

Wu Qian waved her hand repeatedly, "Uncle, what are you talking about? Everyone has relatives and friends like this. I understand."

Hearing Wu Qian’s words, Pei Baoshan also started to smile.

There’s no denying, Wu Qian’s upbringing is impeccable.

If it weren’t for Xu Yufen’s nonsense, Wu Qian probably wouldn’t have paid her any attention.

Luckily, Wu Qian didn’t take it to heart at all.

Wang Cuilan, looking at the messy living room, felt embarrassed to let Wu Qian sit there.

So, Wang Cuilan said to Jiang Ran, "Ranran, why don’t you take Qianqian over to your side to chat."

Jiang Ran understood what Wang Cuilan meant, so she nodded and agreed, leading Wu Qian out again.

Back in Jiang Ran’s room, Wu Qian didn’t bring up the earlier incident again.

As if nothing had happened before.

Which is fine, considering if it were mentioned, Jiang Ran wouldn’t know what to say.

It’s better this way, avoiding any awkwardness for everyone.

In the living room, Pei Yang and Pei Shanshan didn’t leave with them.

The four of them silently cleaned the living room before sitting down together.

Wang Cuilan sighed, looked at Pei Baoshan, but didn’t say anything.

There was no need for Wang Cuilan to say anything because Pei Baoshan knew why she sighed.

Their family’s peaceful New Year had been completely disrupted.

This was supposed to be their first New Year in beishi, and they hoped for some lively celebration.

But now, while it’s indeed lively,

it’s not joyful.

"In a few days, I’ll get them tickets so they can go home," Pei Baoshan said.

Pei Baoshan didn’t know what else to say, that was the only thing he could say.

Wang Cuilan naturally had no doubt about Pei Baoshan’s words.

Having been together for most of their lives, they understood each other completely.

Pei Baoshan wouldn’t soften his stance.

The main problem was not with Pei Baoshan, but with that family.

After thinking it over, Wang Cuilan finally spoke.

"I know, you’re definitely hoping they go back to their hometown. But you see how they are, they certainly won’t go back quietly, and if it causes a fuss..."

Pei Baoshan sighed along with her but spoke with even greater resolve.

"Then let it be a fuss. No matter how much they fuss, we’re still two separate families, and they can’t just stay here indefinitely."
