"Mom?" Bella Green called out hoarsely.
Chloe was suddenly stunned, her whole body seemed to be pressed with a pause button.
Then, she excitedly covered her mouth, tears instantly welled up, and she was trembling with excitement.
She only calmed down a bit after being supported by Michael Green, who also had red eyes.
Steadying her emotions, Chloe raised a gentle smile, sat by the bedside, and helped Bella up.
"You can’t call me that anymore, you know, I’m not your mom."
Saying this, tears fell again.
For all these years, she indeed raised Bella as her own biological daughter.

Chloe hadn’t finished her sentence when Michael lightly pulled her arm, and she stopped, not continuing to speak.
Bella observed their reactions carefully, but she didn’t have time to ask so many questions right now.
"Mom, where’s my phone? No, is there a phone here? I need to call Mason Bennett."
Remembering that her phone was probably water-damaged, maybe still in the water, she quickly changed her words.
Seeing the conflicted and troubled look appearing on Chloe’s face, Bella’s excitement diminished considerably.
"Mom, what’s wrong? I need to quickly call Mason Bennett. He must still be looking for me, or have you already contacted him for me?"
Saying the latter, Bella herself felt it was impossible.
If Mason had been notified, the first person she saw when she woke up would certainly have been him.
"Bella, you should rest well. Let’s discuss this once you recuperate, alright?"
Bella subtly sensed something was amiss.
"Are you hiding something from me? Why won’t you let me call Mason Bennett?"
Bella scrutinized Chloe, not missing any change in expression on her face.
Chloe opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say and couldn’t find a pretext to placate Bella.
Michael then took over the conversation.
"Bella, you recover first. Listen, your health isn’t very good right now. Let’s discuss everything once you’re better, shall we?"
Still the same story Chloe had used earlier.
But what Bella wanted to hear was none of this.
She disregarded everything, lifted the quilt, and got out of bed, ready to head outside.
If they wouldn’t say anything, then she would go out by herself.
Chloe was terrified and hurriedly caught up with her.
"Bella, you are still injured, and it’s dangerous to run around like this. Please, lie back down in bed."
Bella was stopped but showed no intention of returning, looking at Chloe angrily: "Then let me contact Mason Bennett."
"It’s not that we won’t let you contact Mason Bennett, but rather, we can’t get in touch with the outside world either!"
