"The process doesn’t matter, it’s the outcome that counts, right?"
Louis Lawrence put down his leg, propping one hand on the table, looking at him with a half-smile.
"Even if you, putting all your energy into the company every day, ends up making a complete mess, doesn’t it?"
"You!"
Vivian Thornecroft, usually known for self-restraint, couldn’t keep a straight face several times in front of Louis.
He already had a bit of a comparative mindset towards Louis.
Being taunted so coldly by someone so nonchalant, how could he just brush it off?
Especially after having all his real power taken back.
"What about me? If your ability is lacking, you should humbly seek advice, right, cousin?"
The last two words, "cousin," Louis bit heavily, with a hint of being deliberately vague.
Vivian’s eyes narrowed slightly, pondering something, and his emotions just settled down like that.
"Okay, then I’ll get back to work."
Watching Vivian revert to his usual faux-dignified self, Louis raised an eyebrow slightly.
He’s good at keeping his composure.
But...
Louis extinguished the cigarette in his hand, speaking slowly.
"Today, you should first go check out each of the factories. Start with the basics, get a solid foundation, only then can you manage the company well, don’t you think?"
Even as calm as Vivian usually is, he couldn’t help it this time.
"Factories? You want me to go check factories?"
The Lawrence Family has a wide range of interests.
They have several factories under them, but none of them are important. In fact, they’re so insignificant that no one wants to manage them, so they’ve been left running like that.
Louis was actually sending him to the factories?
Clearly, he didn’t want Vivian involved in the company’s affairs anymore.
Vivian turned around, looking at Louis, with scrutiny and threat in his eyes.
"Aren’t you afraid Grandpa will become suspicious of you by suppressing me this way?"
Louis chuckled as if he’d heard something funny: "Suppressing you? What, not letting you in on the top-level matters is considered suppression? Then feel free to complain to Grandpa, or perhaps, you could propose to take back the previous two branch companies."
Vivian’s face tightened, he said nothing more, and turned to leave.
The casualness on Louis’s face gradually faded, he picked up his phone, dialing a number.
"Are you really planning on ruining the Lawrence Family?" Louis’s tone was serious.
The person on the other end seemed indifferent.
"Louis, if I can’t find Bella soon, I will really ruin the Lawrence Family."
Louis chuckled in anger: "Even if it costs Nathan Bennett?"
"Yes!"
The decisiveness in that single word made Louis narrow his eyes slightly, and finally, he smiled, with a bit of reassurance.
"Don’t worry, she’s not in danger. At least for now, she’s very safe."
The other side was silent for a moment, Mason Bennett asked seriously like never before.
"Louis, who exactly are you? Is everything you’re having me do really just to pressure the Lawrence Family, or are you hiding some ulterior motive?"
Louis’s eyes curved, stretching wide like the crescent moon, his thin lips curling up.
"It’s really hard to fool you, Mr. Bennett..."
"Louis, cut the nonchalance. If anything happens to Bella because of you, I won’t let you off!"
"Don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to her," Louis said.
"You say she’s safe now, what proof do you have, are you sure?"
"I’m very sure," Louis confirmed.
"I want to see her."
Louis: "..."
"Sorry, you can’t see her for now, even I can’t. But rest assured, when I say she’s safe, I’m not lying to you. I’m as worried about Bella’s well-being as you are."
