That necklace, that was supposed to be Louis Weston’s necklace—how could it possibly turn out to be Bella Green’s?
"Th-this... what’s going on? The necklace belongs to Bella? How is that possible?"
Ariana muttered, looking completely incredulous, even a little too stunned to react.
How could that necklace possibly belong to Bella Green?
Vivian Thornecroft isn’t the Thornecroft Family’s biological child, but was picked up by the Thornecroft couple in the suburbs near Kyoto.
And the timing all lines up.
The key point is, they already did a paternity test.
How could this suddenly be happening?
If the necklace isn’t his, then why does everything else match up?
Old Master Lawrence’s face was just as ugly, but he didn’t say a word, no one knew what he was thinking.
Ariana couldn’t hold back anymore. She took a few steps forward, staring at Vivian in disbelief.
"Vivian, tell your aunt what’s going on. How could this necklace possibly be Bella’s?"
Anna Green was already dumbfounded on the side, totally unable to understand how a mere necklace issue had blown up to this level.
"Aunt, it’s just a necklace. Is it really that important? And didn’t Vivian already do a paternity test with Second Uncle?"
Anna blurted out anxiously.
Ariana froze for a second. Right, but...
"The necklace does belong to Bella Green." Vivian was silent for a long time before finally speaking.
At this point, there was no way to hide it anymore.
"Then you!" Ariana stared at him in disbelief. Back then, he clearly said the necklace was his.
Vivian, however, didn’t look guilty at all; his gaze was clear.
"She gave me this necklace eight years ago. When you asked me back then, of course I said it was mine."
Put that way, there’s really nothing wrong with it.
"Well, well. Just now, didn’t you say this necklace has been with you since you were a kid?" Mason Bennett raised a brow, his fox-like eyes full of mockery.
Vivian just smiled. "I thought being in my teens already counted as ’since I was little.’"
Those words even made Mason laugh.
Vivian was obviously planning to play the rascal.
"Excuse me."
Mason suddenly spoke up, cutting into their conversation, his dark eyes sweeping over everyone, calm and cold.
"Your family drama doesn’t interest me. I didn’t come here today to argue with you about a necklace."
Everyone except Ariana finally snapped back to their senses.
Right, Mason was here today to talk about Vivian hiring someone to kill Bella, not about the necklace.
If they only talked about the necklace, there were still tons of doubts.
Now that Bella was mentioned again, Old Master Lawrence’s expression grew darker and darker; even Butler Feng couldn’t help glancing at Vivian more than once.
The silent Old Master Lawrence turned his sharp gaze on Vivian, full of chilling scrutiny and suspicion.
That gaze stabbed into Vivian like a knife, making his heart lurch.
He wasn’t afraid of anyone questioning him—except he was terrified of Old Master Lawrence doubting him...
He didn’t want to suspect his own grandson, but when all the facts were laid out like this...
That so-called investigation and paternity test weren’t such unshakable evidence after all.
Yet in the end, nothing could be confirmed.
For the moment, everything was a mess, impossible to untangle.
Even Old Master Lawrence couldn’t make sense of it.
He could overturn everything, overturn Vivian himself—but then why would the necklace be on Bella Green?
Judging by age, Bella couldn’t possibly be Louis Weston’s child.
She was three years younger than that child.
But Vivian’s age lined up perfectly.
Just as the atmosphere had frozen stiff, there was movement at the door: a servant hurried in leading the Police.
"Who is Vivian Thornecroft?"
