They almost thought they would never see Bella Green again.
The old Mrs. Bennett supported herself with a cane in one hand and reached out to Bella Green with the other, stumbling as she walked towards her.
Bella Green’s eyes were red, and her nose felt sour. She jogged forward to support the old lady.
The old Mrs. Bennett looked Bella up and down several times, tears wetting her wrinkled face.
"Good, good, good, as long as you’re safe, that’s what’s important."
The old Mrs. Bennett’s voice got lower and lower, and in the end, she was just choked with sobs.
Bella Green felt the same struggle in her heart. Watching the old lady, she knew how worried she had been about her during this time.
"Grandma, I’m fine. Don’t cry. Look, I don’t have a scratch on me."
Bella Green smiled like a blooming flower, coaxing the old lady, spinning around twice on the spot.
Bellamy Homes quickly caught hold of her: "Alright, alright, even if you’re fine, you shouldn’t do that. Hurry inside and let the doctor have a look."
Seeing the worried look on the woman’s face, Bella Green nodded obediently.
Then, she looked at the big boy standing to the side, eyes red and holding back tears.
Standing at the very edge, restraining himself from rushing over.
Bella Green gave a gentle smile and waved him over.
Daniel Green then rushed over, looking at Bella Green, pressing his lips tightly without saying a word.
But the more he acted like this, the more Bella Green’s heart ached. She tiptoed to hug this resilient and strong boy.
"Sister’s back."
Such a gentle sentence, yet so heavily landed on Daniel Green’s heart.
He nodded forcefully.
His sister was back, back again...
She’s okay, that’s wonderful.
"Alright then, in this cold weather, let’s get inside, we’ll talk inside."
Bellamy Homes said with a smile.
Everyone went inside, Bella Green was surrounded and seated on the sofa, while the doctor by her side was checking her health with various instruments.
Meanwhile, Bella Green introduced Michael Green and Chloe Johnson.
The two were startled when Bella Green introduced them as her parents, and they didn’t have time to stop her.
What were they? For so many years, they were just doing the most basic jobs.
How could they be fit to be in-laws to a family like the Bennetts?
This child, wasn’t she afraid of people looking down on her.
Clearly, she had an even more noble status, just as noble as Mason Bennett, if not more.
Yet she insisted that her parents were just ordinary folks like them.
Seeing their expressions, Bellamy Homes knew what they were thinking.
She smiled, sat directly next to Chloe Johnson, and took her hand.
"In-laws, you really have raised a wonderful daughter."
Bellamy Homes’ attitude startled Chloe Johnson, making her feel quite unnatural for a moment.
She sighed.
"We can’t be considered in-laws, we’re just Bella’s adoptive parents, Bella is the eldest daughter of the Lawrence Family, I was just serving by Bella’s mother’s side back then."
This was also the first time Chloe Johnson revealed her identity.
Bellamy Homes didn’t mind at all: "No matter what, it was you who raised Bella, a fostering kindness surpasses a birthing kindness. No matter what, you are Bella’s parents. You deserve to be called in-laws."
Bellamy Homes’ words choked Chloe Johnson, leaving her at a loss for words.
At first, they were worried that Bella Green might suffer at the Bennett house.
But seeing Bellamy Homes’ attitude, and looking at the old lady and the others who surrounded Bella Green.
They truly smiled from the heart.
This family would treasure Bella as if holding a precious gem in their palm. Her Bella, she would be happy...
