Chapter 375 - 335: Zombie Siege 3

"Besides, the higher-level leader zombies aren’t afraid of your weapons of mass destruction at all. You can’t kill them, and you’ll only piss them off. Once enraged, all the zombified creatures—the snakes, insects, rats, and ants—will launch a full-scale assault on the base. When that happens, the losses will be more than you can possibly bear!"

"Who do you think you’re trying to scare?" Liam Todd frowned at Flora Bloom. He said he didn’t believe her, but the look on his face gave him away.

Although the saying goes ’seeing is believing, hearing is deceiving,’ the three men were all thinking the same thing. The zombie horde was currently surrounding the base, rats had destroyed the Todd family’s food stores, and a swarm of black scorpions had already run rampant inside the base. And that brief rampage had thrown the base into chaos and nearly destroyed the temporary hospital.

If all that wasn’t enough to prove Flora Bloom’s words, everything that happened next would confirm what she had told them.

Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed as an unfamiliar superpower user rushed to the gate of Robin Grant’s residence. "Family Head!" he shouted. "Our weapons can’t kill the black scorpions, rats, and ants! The soldiers on the front line sent me back to ask for instructions! Should we increase the volume of fire and keep shooting, or should we use the large-scale weapons to wipe out the zombie horde?"

Liam Todd’s face turned beet red as he finally looked at Flora Bloom with proper respect. Titan Adler also stared at her, his expression grave, as if awaiting her analysis and instructions.

Of the three, Simon was the one who trusted Flora Bloom the most, not just because of his son Neal Wallace’s relationship with her, but because of the power she had previously revealed to him.

"What should we do to minimize the losses for our soldiers on the front lines?"

At this moment, the three men had lost all the arrogance and superiority they’d shown when they first met Flora Bloom. They were now just three leaders trying to protect their base and save the lives of as many of their people as possible.

"Using weapons of mass destruction would certainly kill a lot of zombies in a short amount of time, but they’re useless against the zombified creatures and high-level zombies. Not only that, it would also alert the leader zombie. My recommendation remains the same: first, we find that leader zombie. Once we find it and eliminate it, the remaining zombie creatures will fall apart like a heap of loose sand!"

"Alright, we’ll listen to you! Tell us what to do."

"As long as we can win this battle with minimal losses, we can put everything else aside for now!"

"Just tell us how you need us to cooperate!"

Although a sliver of doubt remained in their hearts, it seemed there was no better way than what Flora Bloom had proposed.

Flora Bloom hadn’t expected the three of them to agree to follow her advice without much persuasion. So, she laid out her plan openly.

"First, the superpower users trying to return to the base will be attacked. That’s the zombie horde’s warning and provocation to us. To save them, we can only engage the outermost layers of the horde with appropriate firepower, creating a direct confrontation and a limited clash of forces.

Second, control the intensity of the engagement to make the leader zombie lower its guard."

The three men listened with rapt attention as Flora Bloom spoke. "And then?"

Flora Bloom paused. "I need a team to provide cover while I go and take out the leader zombie."

"What? You’re going yourself!?" Robin Grant was the first to jump up. "No, I refuse! Has our Argent Base run out of people? We can’t have a pregnant woman like you do something so dangerous!"

"That’s right! It’s not like Argent Base can’t find one capable superpower user. We can’t let a young woman like you take such a risk!" Simon added, trying to dissuade her.

"How about this? I’ll gather all the Middle Level and above superpower users in the base right now. You can pick one and see who’s most suitable for the job." Titan Adler immediately left to assemble his men and select a powerful superpower user who could go on the mission.

"Isn’t that steward from the Thorne family almost at the High-level? If he went, I’m sure there’d be no problem!" Liam Todd suddenly thought of Regan Thorne.

Hearing this, Flora Bloom paused as well. ’That Regan Thorne... even I can’t quite see through his true strength.’ If he were the one to go, there really wouldn’t be much of a problem.

But for some reason, the fact that zombified creatures—the four pests of snakes, insects, rats, and ants—had gathered together with regular zombies to besiege the city... it all made Flora Bloom feel that something was not quite right.

She could foresee that the leader zombie would be a formidable foe. But she never could have imagined that this battle, this zombie siege on the base, would not only accelerate the fracturing of this dimension but also seal her fate three years in the future.

Just as she’d thought, Regan Thorne refused the request of the three Family Heads and declined to go out and fight the leader zombie. However, among the superpower users Titan Adler had gathered, there was one who had already attained a High-level Superpower.

This was something Flora Bloom had not expected at all.

This High-level Superpower User was a Fire Ability User, incredibly powerful in combat and incredibly arrogant. People like Titan Adler and the other two Family Heads had to speak to him gently and persuasively, completely lacking the dignity and authority befitting their positions.

This was a common sight in the apocalypse. Strength was everything.

Brimming with confidence, he led the selected team of ten superpower users and set off toward the main gate of the base.
