Chapter 409 - 361: The Way the War Wolf Clan Grows (3)

This flesh and blood was rich in vital essence, which could help the little wolf’s wounds heal quickly. It could also strengthen the bodies of any humans who ate it.

Sensing Flora’s approach, the second to appear was the Golden Crow, a little creature that resembled a crow. Flora hadn’t seen it in over a week, and it seemed to have grown a bit. It flew over, once again trying to nestle into her hair, only to find it had grown several sizes larger. It was now half the size of Flora’s head and couldn’t possibly fit.

So, it perched on top of Flora’s head.

"Ah, my dear, beloved Master, you’ve finally returned! Master, I missed you so much! Quick, let me into your space for a bit, so I can bask in your unique aura!"

Listening to the Golden Crow spout a torrent of exaggerated praise in human speech, Flora felt the little creature had an ulterior motive. But she really couldn’t guess what it might be.

So with a wave of her hand, she tossed it into her space. She was determined to see for herself just why this little guy had demanded to enter her space the moment he saw her!

Perhaps it was because the little pets Flora had left behind at the Morhaven base all came out in a group, but the people from Villa Three—especially Caleb Bloom and Jade—came running out after Xiao Bai.

When Xiao Bai saw Flora had returned, it let out a series of excited howls. Noticing Flora’s small baby bump, it only dared to jump and bound around her, acting even more like a puppy than the little wolf did.

Flora petted each of the small pets in turn, then saw Caleb Bloom and Jade rushing over. Behind them, Ethan Monroe, Shauna Wallace, and Sherman Lynch had all come as well.

"Flora, you’re finally back!" The Space Ability around Jade surged, and in a flash, she teleported right in front of Flora.

"Look, Flora, Mom wasn’t slacking off while you were gone. My Space Ability is powerfully offensive now, and I can even use it to teleport."

Flora smiled and snuggled into Jade’s embrace. "Mom, you’re amazing!"

"Oh, let me see. Have you lost any weight?"

Flora spun around for everyone. "Nope, haven’t lost any weight. In fact, I’ve gotten a little chubby. Aside from the occasional morning sickness, my appetite is great!"

A joyful and relieved smile spread across Caleb Bloom’s face. "Good, good! It’s good that you’re back! Tonight, I’ll have Old Monroe make something special for everyone."

After Sherman Lynch and the others greeted Flora, they noticed the three unfamiliar faces behind her.

Luna Thorne lowered her head, feeling out of place and unsure how to react. She had once been a star student in university, but the apocalypse had brought a harsh slap in the face from her own family.

That slap from reality was so painful that it shattered her confidence and self-esteem.

Mervin Warren’s emotions were also complicated. He had lost his own family, yet in the short time he’d been with these people, he felt a warmth akin to that of a family.

Micah, however, had tears of emotion streaming down his face, his heart swelling with indescribable feelings. This place was like a paradise, a home nestled deep in a jungle teeming with beasts.

And what’s more, it seemed to be an absolutely safe base.

"Now that everyone’s here, let me make some introductions," Flora began. "These two are my university classmates. They helped me out a lot back in college. This is Luna Thorne, and this is Mervin Warren. Mom, Dad, you’ve met Mervin before, back in Varden Village!"

Jade and Caleb smiled and nodded. "Yes, your mother and I remember. Young Warren, right? You went to Argent with Captain Cross back then. We never expected to see you again!"

Mervin Warren greeted them politely, and his actions encouraged Luna Thorne to come out of her shell a bit.

"Hello, sir and ma’am. I’m afraid we’ll be troubling you from now on!"

"Don’t be fooled by Mervin Warren’s skinny appearance. He’s a user with a physical-type superpower. Hey," Flora looked at Mervin Warren, "what is your superpower?" She was introducing them this way in the hopes they could temporarily forget everything that happened in Argent and integrate into the group as quickly as possible.

"I... my superpower is... is... instant teleportation."

Mervin’s words made even Flora’s jaw drop in shock.

"Mervin Warren, you’ve hit the jackpot! Do you have any idea how incredible an instant teleportation superpower is?"

Mervin Warren was taken aback by Flora’s exaggerated praise. "Incredible?"

"I can sense that your true superpower level is only level two. But because of some kind of potion, your power level is very unstable. At its peak, it can reach near High-level.

Trust me, if you build up your level bit by bit and get rid of the potion’s side effects, this superpower is practically a game-breaker.

Think about it. What’s your current teleportation range?"

Mervin Warren thought for a moment, then instantly appeared a hundred meters away before suddenly reappearing in front of them.

"For a distance like this, about a hundred meters, I can move almost without limits and without using much spiritual power. The longer the distance, the more spiritual power it consumes. The farthest I can go is about a thousand meters, but that would probably drain my spiritual power instantly."

"Your base level is only two right now, and you can already teleport a thousand meters. What about when you reach the Middle Level, or even High-level? You could travel from Morhaven to a neighboring city, or even farther, in a single instant.

Whether you’re running away or using hit-and-run tactics, absolutely no one would be able to catch you!"
