"This territory was originally supposed to belong to my Dog Clan. But now, you humans have become the masters," Yanxiu sneered coldly. "We’re going to take back our land, starting from today."
Was a war about to break out? Even Xiao Tian was taken aback by these words.
"The Human Clan are the rightful overlords of this land! You Dog Clan can forget about wreaking havoc upon this world!"
"That’s right! Don’t even think about it!"
The soldiers, too, had their pride—the pride of being human.
But the dog-headed people behind Yanxiu were not pleased, and they began retorting.
"Who said the Human Clan are the overlords of this land?"
"In ancient times, your Human Clan lived in caves. Wasn’t that good enough? Now you’ve come out of your caves to build houses and occupy land. This is unforgivable."
"We outnumber you. You lot might as well surrender."
The dog-headed people of the Dog Clan, as if spoiling for a fight, belittled the humans. They felt that humans didn’t deserve to live in houses and should go back to living in caves. In the eyes of the Dog Clan, that was the proper home for the Human Clan.
Xiao Tian and his men were now too preoccupied to pay any mind to Wu Tian.
Wu Tian simply stood there quietly, saying nothing. He had little interest in the conflict between the Dog Clan and Xiao Tian. In his view, this was a minor issue. The real issue was that an Immortal Emperor had emerged among the Beast Clan.
However, that should have been impossible. The method to achieve the rank of Immortal Emperor had been created by the Creation Martial Emperor, and it was tailored for the Human Clan. The other clans had never produced a figure like the Creation Martial Emperor, and it was unknown how they could obtain the Mandate of Heaven and ascend to the throne of an Immortal Emperor.
Of course, Wu Tian couldn’t be certain that in the ten thousand years of his absence, a genius as brilliant and stunning as the Creation Martial Emperor hadn’t been born among the Beast Clan, Demon Clan, or others.
Yuwen Nuo glanced at the Dog Clan; their numbers did indeed exceed their own. But what did Yuwen Nuo have to fear?
He took a step forward and thrust a golden sword into the ground. "With me here, do you think you can win?"
"Yuwen Nuo!" Yanxiu couldn’t help but utter the name, his tone heavy.
Yuwen Nuo was a generational military talent. His strength lay not in his Martial Path cultivation, but in his commanding presence on the battlefield. He had fought seven battles to date, winning each one against superior numbers. The Dog Clan had long heard of his reputation. Yanxiu pondered for a moment; a head-on clash offered no guarantee of victory.
"Heh heh." Yanxiu’s eyes darted. Who says a dog’s intelligence is inferior to a human’s? An idea quickly formed in his mind. "A direct clash will only result in heavy losses for both of us. This time, let’s try something different. We’ll have duels, best two out of three. The loser’s side will submit to the victor. How about it?"
Yuwen Nuo disagreed. He felt that Yanxiu must have some kind of ace up his sleeve. But just as Yuwen Nuo was about to refuse, Xiao Tian cut in. "Fine, I accept your terms."
"My Prince, no! This is..." Yuwen Nuo panicked.
"Shut up," Xiao Tian commanded. "I am the Prince. Besides, I understand."
ŸYou understand?Ÿ Yuwen Nuo was infuriated. ŸYou don’t understand a damn thing!Ÿ
"Alright. For the first round, Flame, you’re up," Yanxiu announced loudly.
A dog-headed man clad in white robes stepped out from the Dog Clan. His dog-like hair was neatly tied with a high-quality jade band, giving him a refined appearance. He was a perfect example of a dog putting on human airs. He was a member of the Dog Clan, a close confidant of Yanxiu, and his strength was at the Ninth Grade of the Foundation Establishment Realm.
At the same time, Xiao Tian called forth one of his own confidants, a brawny man whose muscles were like boulders. His name was Tianshan.
"Go, Tianshan! Bring glory to the Human Clan! Beat that dog to death!" The soldiers on Xiao Tian’s side immediately began to cheer.
The Dog Clan members cheered for Flame as well.
Flame and Tianshan locked eyes for a moment before they began to fight.
Flame snorted, and his claws instantly ignited with fire. The Human Clan had special physiques, while the Beast Clan had tough bodies and possessed Divine Skills. This dog was no Divine Beast, of course; his only ability was the natural fire that sprang from his claws. Taking a step forward, the dog-man charged out like a crazed animal, his claws aimed ferociously at Tianshan. Most dogs were impulsive, and this one was clearly aiming for a quick victory.
However, just as the claws were about to land, Tianshan finally reacted in alarm. He hastily threw a punch to counter. A fist and a claw collided swiftly.
Tianshan gritted his teeth, feeling the immense power in the dog-man’s claws. Meanwhile, Flame stood there with a canine grin on his face, completely unmoved.
ŸHow can this be?Ÿ Tianshan was shocked. ŸAs a human, how could he possibly lose to a dog? He couldn’t believe it.Ÿ
"A human? Not even as good as a dog," Flame sneered.
He withdrew his claws and struck out again in an instant. With a sound that tore through the air, Tianshan was instantly killed by those claws.
"The first round is our victory," Yanxiu declared with a smile.
"Yeah!" The dog-men of the Dog Clan erupted in cheers.
"Humans? They’re not any stronger than us."
"The Human Clan should be enslaved by our Beast Clan!"
Looking over at Xiao Tian’s side, his men were utterly dejected.
Flame pointed at Xiao Tian and the others with disdain. "I’ll take the next round too. You’ve already lost one. Who’s up second?"
"Insolent dog!"
"Don’t get too cocky. We have more than enough people here who can butcher a dog like you."
Seeing Flame’s smug look, Xiao Tian and his men grew angry.
After a moment’s thought, Xiao Tian announced, "I will go."
ŸIs the Prince going to fight personally?Ÿ Upon hearing Xiao Tian’s words, his loyal soldiers’ spirits lifted, and they immediately began to flatter him.
Xiao Tian, relying on numerous resources, had already reached the first grade of the Pseudo-Tongxuan Realm. He strode forward, chest puffed out and chin held high, his face a mask of arrogance. "You’re the dog called Flame, right? This time, I’ll be your opponent. Come on, let’s fight."
Seeing Xiao Tian, Flame paused to think. He doubted he could win. It was foolish to charge ahead when you knew you couldn’t win.
"I concede," Flame said plainly, retreating to stand behind Yanxiu.
"Scared now, are you, dog?"
"The Prince himself is fighting! He’s unmatched!"
"That’s right! Who can possibly challenge him?"
"Hahahaha..."
Xiao Tian’s loyal soldiers erupted in cheers.
Yuwen Nuo and the soldiers he had brought, however, remained silent. As men who had truly experienced battle, they knew that a momentary victory or defeat meant nothing.
But Xiao Tian didn’t see it that way. He had won. So, like a triumphant War God, he stood with his chest puffed out and laughed at the Dog Clan members on Yanxiu’s side. "Now, who will fight me? But let me warn you, fighting me is suicide."
"I will," Yanxiu said, stepping forward personally.
His steps were slow at first, but after two paces, they suddenly quickened. His movements were fluid and elegant, incredibly dashing. In an instant, he was in front of Xiao Tian. Then, with just one kick, he sneered, "Get lost."
With that single kick, the recently triumphant Xiao Tian was sent flying backward, landing in a sprawling heap on the ground.
