Chapter 680 - 683 The Truthful Person [Third Update]

Humans, Beast Clan members, Spirit Clan members, and others can all enter into contracts. Once signed, they share life and death, and the two parties can even merge. If one is injured, the damage can be shared. In other words, an injury that would be fatal to one person might no longer be fatal if it is borne by both.

Signing a contract with the Chief of the Stone Clan, a being at the Heavenly King Realm, would be seen as a wonderful opportunity by anyone, would it not?

But as for Wu Tian? He simply scoffed.

At this moment, the phenomenon of "Demon Blood Staining the Blue Sky" had not yet dissipated. From the pitch-black firmament, a downpour of blood-red rain suddenly began. As this terrifying rain fell, the very air seemed to shatter. Every single drop contained an unimaginable pressure.

Everyone stared, dumbfounded, at the scene. The terror of the blood rain made the faces of all creatures present grow increasingly pale.

"What kind of phenomenon is this? Just looking at it makes my heart pound with fear."

"I can’t seem to catch my breath."

"Ye Qingxian’s ’Stars Falling Through the Nine Heavens’ was already extraordinary, but this phenomenon surpasses hers by an unimaginable margin."

A phenomenon represents a person’s potential. As this realization dawned on them, the crowd couldn’t help but gasp, so shocked they were momentarily rendered speechless. This phenomenon was lawless, blotting out the sun and sky. Just what level of potential did Wu Tian possess?

They could only look at each other, at a complete loss for words.

Dao Feng, Lan Niang, and the others were overjoyed. Their Sect Leader was so powerful; they had truly struck gold.

The little girl’s face was filled with fighting spirit. She believed that once she reached the Tongxuan Realm, her own phenomenon would be no less impressive than her father’s.

"Die!" Wu Tian bellowed. The moment the Chief of the Stone Clan spoke those presumptuous words, revealing his desire to enslave the Human Clan, Wu Tian had no intention of sparing it. A mere stone, what power could it possibly have? How could it be so arrogant?

At Wu Tian’s word, a dense sheet of blood rain hurtled toward the Chief of the Stone Clan. Wherever it passed, space itself fractured, unable to withstand the blood rain’s might. To the naked eye, the air seemed to ripple with tiny cracks.

The blood rain now had only one target. Its power was so immense that it made the winds and clouds shift color and the very heavens and earth tremble!

"No! Spare me. I’m willing to serve as Xiuyuan Country’s Sacrificial Spirit! I won’t dare to be presumptuous again. Please, give me a chance."

Facing the mysterious, terrifying, and chilling blood rain from the sky, the Chief of the Stone Clan found itself completely unable to muster the will to resist. It wanted to flee, but its stone body had miraculously resigned itself to its fate. It waited obediently for death, not daring to harbor a single rebellious thought, as if it were a subject facing its Monarch.

The ministers also stood dumbstruck at the scene.

The members of the Stone Clan reverted to their original forms—towering stones, the shortest of which was over a meter tall. They shot forth together, intending to shield their Chief, their king, from the unstoppable blood rain. They didn’t realize they were like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, embracing their own doom.

Under the downpour of blood, one stone after another was shattered into dust, turning to ash that scattered on the wind.

The Chief of the Stone Clan paid no heed to the smaller stones. Disregarding their loyalty and their lives, it fled into the distance.

However, under Wu Tian’s control, the blood rain gave chase. The air exploded in its wake as it swiftly caught up to the Chief of the Stone Clan.

"No!" the Chief of the Stone Clan shrieked in terror, but to no avail. It was showered by the blood rain, reduced to ash, and vanished from the world.

At that moment, silence fell between heaven and earth.

Unconcerned with the fearful, shocked, and complex gazes from the crowd, Wu Tian walked over to Qin Yuhan’s side with a relaxed, nonchalant expression. Though she was also looking at him in surprise, her place in his heart was beyond compare.

Qin Yuhan’s pretty eyes scanned Wu Tian up and down again. Unable to hold back any longer, she muttered, "What exactly are you?"

"I’ve told you before," Wu Tian said with a smile. "An Immortal Emperor."

"Nonsense." Qin Yuhan rolled her eyes. After arriving in the Immortal Emperor Realm, she had learned a few things: Immortal Emperors were rare, undying beings. In short, they were far too lofty. She furrowed her brow. "I don’t believe you, you big blockhead. You’re no Immortal Emperor."

"..."

Wu Tian was at a loss for words in front of his own woman. He had no idea how he’d become a "big blockhead."

"Do you even know what ’blockhead’ means?" While the others were still in shock, with very few having regained their composure, the little one was definitely one of the calm ones. She walked right up and asked with a chuckle.

"Tell me."

The little one smiled. "The term ’blockhead,’ in this case, is slang used to tease a guy for being dense and unromantic—a total ’straight-arrow man of steel.’ In short, it’s a versatile jab."

Wu Tian: "..."

The little one laughed. "Dad, if there’s anything you don’t understand in the future, you can just ask me."

This little child, acting like such a grown-up, made Qin Yuhan not know whether to laugh or cry.

Wu Tian knitted his brows slightly. "Baby, you have conditions, don’t you?"

As the saying goes, no one knows a daughter better than her father.

Sure enough, the little one giggled and said, "Can you help me get even stronger?"

"Of course," Wu Tian replied.

The little one beamed.

Wu Tian picked her up in his arms. The saying is true: a daughter really does warm her father’s heart. The little one even began to wipe the sweat from Wu Tian’s brow.

"Mr. Wu Tian." Just then, as most of the crowd was coming to their senses, a figure approached him. It was a graceful woman—a beauty, to the naked eye. But to Wu Tian’s Eyes of Golden Flame, she was plainly a Willow Tree. This was a being from the Willow Clan. Moreover, the one who had come before Wu Tian was none other than the Chief of the Willow.

"Do you need something from me?" Wu Tian asked. His tone was indifferent, devoid of personal feeling—a manner he reserved for anyone outside his family, friends, and loved ones. For a being of his stature, he had perhaps seemed somewhat aloof since arriving in the Immortal Emperor Realm.

"I am willing to become the Sacrificial Spirit for Xiuyuan Country." The Chief of the Willow smiled as she moved closer to Wu Tian. "Would that not be the most correct path to take?" This man intrigued her; she had a fondness for powerful men.

"Hey," a displeased voice cut in. "He’s already a married man."

The Chief of the Willow’s expression stiffened. She glanced at Qin Yuhan, a woman whose beauty was on par with her own, but she simply smiled with confidence and said, "I don’t mind."

Qin Yuhan’s brows furrowed. She really didn’t want to deal with love rivals in this new world, especially when her rival wasn’t even human, but a Willow Tree.

Wu Tian took a step back, distancing himself from the Chief of the Willow. "My heart is already taken. If you want to be a Sacrificial Spirit, then be one. Don’t cross the line."

"That’s right." Qin Yuhan’s eyes lit up. Pleased with Wu Tian’s performance, she stepped forward to stand beside him.

"Very well." The Chief of the Willow could see she had no chance with Wu Tian, so she accepted it. She would have to be content as a Sacrificial Spirit and harbor no other ideas. Still, she couldn’t resist asking, "Does that mean this lady is the number one beauty in your eyes?"

Qin Yuhan looked at Wu Tian.

But Wu Tian shook his head. He couldn’t bring himself to lie. "In terms of beauty, among all those I have ever seen, she would rank in the top five."

Qin Yuhan: "..."
