The Xiuyuan Realm was still abuzz with discussion. Why would the Great Heavenly King of Dogs protect Wu Tian?
Wu Tian himself knew nothing about these discussions. He was still within the Nine Dragon Ring, in the Divine Temple inside the Heavenly Emperor’s Treasure House.
Where exactly is the Heavenly Eye?
Wu Tian searched the entire Divine Temple before finally finding a secret chamber. Inside, he discovered a dog chain. This chain appeared ordinary, but it possessed certain abilities. For example, anyone chained with it, whether they were a dog or not, would eventually become as obedient as one. Of course, the chain was useless against those at or above the Heavenly King Realm. However, not even a Heavenly King could tear it off. This object was the Barks-at-Heaven Dog’s magical treasure.
At the same time, Wu Tian also found the inheritance of the Barks-at-Heaven Dog. He figured it was about time he gave the Great Heavenly King of Dogs something in return, and this inheritance was the perfect gift.
In addition, Wu Tian found a tree branch. This was no ordinary branch; it was exquisitely translucent and shimmering. Wu Tian surmised this must be a branch from the Jade Cinnamon Tree—the legendary eyelashes of Pangu.
The Jade Cinnamon Tree is from Guanghan Palace... could the Heavenly Eye be in... Guanghan Palace? Wu Tian wondered. But how would he get there? That was a path he would have to find on his own.
The Heavenly Emperor’s Treasure House was a Mythical World devoid of life, its vast territory likely no smaller than the Immortal Emperor Realm itself. It contained countless Magical Treasures, all of which now belonged to him. Finding any specific one, however, was still a challenge.
After some thought, Wu Tian decided to leave the Heavenly Emperor’s Treasure House, taking the dog chain and the Jade Cinnamon branch with him.
The dog chain would be perfect to tie around the neck of any rival I dislike. I’ll make him act like a dog! As for the Jade Cinnamon branch? It can be crafted into jewelry. I’m sure Qin Yuhan will like it.
Leaving the Nine Dragon Ring, Wu Tian went to find Qin Yuhan. She had seemed displeased with him ever since that day, and it had been a while since she had come to see him. This time, Wu Tian wanted to give her the Jade Cinnamon branch and, while he was at it, ask her why she was upset.
As he walked through the golden splendor of the Royal Palace, the passing eunuchs, palace maids, and ministers all cast probing glances his way. They all wanted to know who this Wu Tian was. How could he command the Great Heavenly King of Dogs to act on his behalf?
Wu Tian ignored their stares and headed straight for Qin Yuhan’s loft. What others thought of him was none of his concern. He only cared about what Qin Yuhan thought.
One life, one generation, one pair of souls; why must they be tormented in two separate places? To long for each other, to gaze from afar, yet never be close; for whom does heaven bring the spring?
Wu Tian’s own world, by a twist of fate, was now bound to Qin Yuhan. For her alone, his world bloomed like spring; for her, his sky cleared.
In the small loft, Qin Yuhan was cultivating. Thin wisps of Spiritual Power trickled into her body. Her natural aptitude was not suited for cultivation, and even after Wu Tian had modified her body into an Immaculate Physique, her cultivation speed was still slower than Wu Tian’s and the little one’s.
Wu Tian knew he had to find Nuwa’s sanctuary, the Nuwa Palace. It contained many Supreme Treasures that would be of great use to Qin Yuhan. For instance, the Nine Heavens’ Self-Renewing Soil that Nuwa had used to create humanity could help her completely rebuild her physical foundation.
Coming back to his senses, Wu Tian walked up to her. "I have something I want to give you."
"Oh?" Qin Yuhan didn’t lift her head. She was still angry, but her curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"
"Take a look." Wu Tian took out the Jade Cinnamon branch.
Its crystal clarity surpassed that of any diamond or pearl. Translucent as the full moon in the night sky, light seemed to flow within it, making all other jewels look like mere dirt and grime in comparison.
"This..." Every woman loves beautiful things. Gazing at the branch, Qin Yuhan couldn’t help but look up, her enchanting eyes shimmering.
"Want it?" Wu Tian asked.
"Since you’re begging me, I suppose I’ll accept it." Qin Yuhan took the Jade Cinnamon branch.
Wu Tian, however, was a little surprised. I’m begging you? Did I do that?
Qin Yuhan played with the Jade Cinnamon branch, already wondering how to have it crafted. Should it be a comb? Or a jade hairpin? A necklace? Earrings? Feigning nonchalance, she asked casually, "Are there any other women you plan on giving gifts to?"
"Only you," Wu Tian smiled, his arm instinctively wrapping around her slender waist. He then led her toward the bed.
"But... it’s the middle of the day," Qin Yuhan said, her cheeks blushing.
"It’s fine. We have nothing else to do anyway," Wu Tian replied with a smile.
Once they were on the bed, Qin Yuhan asked, "So, does this mean you know what you did wrong? Why I was unhappy with you?"
"Well..." Wu Tian shook his head and cupped his hands. "I was about to ask for your guidance. What did I say or do wrong?"
"You big lout," Qin Yuhan huffed, pushing him away before leaving the room.
Wu Tian was left speechless.
The moment she stepped outside, however, a faint smile graced the corners of her lips. That big lout actually knew to give me a gift! I suppose that’s something. Still... I have to ignore him for at least another two or three days.
She left the Royal Palace with the Jade Cinnamon branch, intending to find a jade artisan. However, just as she was leaving the palace grounds, three people appeared and blocked her path.
"Miss Qin Yuhan, please come with us."
Qin Yuhan stopped, her brows furrowed slightly. The Great Heavenly King of Dogs holds sway over this entire region. Who would dare cause trouble at a time like this?
"Who are you?"
"We’re from the Crown Prince’s Manor in the Qian Zhong Country," one of them said, stepping forward. "I am A’da, this is A’er, and he’s A’san. Our names might be plain, but our strength is anything but."
"I don’t know you," Qin Yuhan said, taking a step back. "You had best leave."
"Our Crown Prince would like to have a word with you," A’er said with a smile.
"I don’t know him," Qin Yuhan stated coldly.
"Strangers become friends all the time," A’san added. "I’m sure you and our Crown Prince can get along very well."
Qin Yuhan’s eyes remained like ice.
A’da looked at her, his expression unchanging, as if he had already expected her refusal. "Are you really refusing?" he asked calmly. "Perhaps I should mention that the three of us are Poison Masters. If you don’t come with us, our poison will spread throughout this entire country. By then, who knows how many people will die because of you."
"That’s right," A’er added. "We have no intention of harming others, but if you don’t come with us, we’ll have no choice. The people who die won’t be killed by your hand..."
"...But they will die because of you," A’san finished. "Will your conscience be able to bear that burden?"
Threatened with the lives of innocent people, a look of torment appeared on Qin Yuhan’s beautiful face. She bit her lip. "Fine. I’ll go with you."
A’da, A’er, and A’san nodded in satisfaction.
"Actually, the Crown Prince has already arrived in the Xiuyuan Realm."
"That’s right. He came all the way from the Artifact Domain just for you, sparing no effort. His sincerity is as clear as the sun and moon."
"I’m sure you and our Crown Prince will become the best of friends."
