Rings of blue shone around Grey’s eyes. For a moment, it looked like a divine flame was burning away at his very soul. But slowly, that faded away until all there was left was Grey himself.
Grey blinked, then he looked down at himself.
"... Shit."
All his gear was gone and destroyed, even his Black Forces. The only things that survived were the things that had been in his Cyber Space, the Bringer of Light Gloves, and the rod on his back.
And something told him the only reason the Bringer of Light Gloves even survived for that long was because the strands of white gold it used were just another form of chaos. If Grey had stayed in there any longer, it would have probably been destroyed too.
"Well, I didn’t really think this through."
Grey looked up again to find that the angel lady’s jaw was set in what was probably fury. As for Thi Lan and Amunet, they were looking anywhere but him. Granted, that was probably because he was naked right now and didn’t exactly have a change of clothes.
He scratched the back of his head.
"Fuck. My Crimson Dragon Nexis Suit..." Grey wanted to cry real tears. It seemed that the angel lady’s glaring wasn’t doing much of anything to him. He had been scolded so many times in his life that he had lost count.
Did he also know that ignoring them tended to make the "adults" even angrier? Yes, he did. But right now he was too depressed to care.
His Crimson Dragon Suit gave him a +3 level up to all his Abilities, but it allowed him to steal Abilities... not that he had gotten a chance to use that very often.
But what he would miss the most were his Black Forces. He was supposed to take those to the top with him.
"... Fuck." Grey cursed again.
He was so distracted by everything else that he didn’t truly register just how powerful his body had become. His skin felt incredibly cool to the touch in a way that didn’t seem to be going away anytime soon and might very well never go away. The heavy tan that he had always sported had been washed away, much to his disgust. And when the light caught his skin just the right way, it looked like circuits of radiant sky blue were running beneath his flesh instead of veins.
His stats read one thing, but Grey felt like they couldn’t even really reflect his power right now. Even with the ridiculous boost to his Stamina.
There were other changes that he was starting to notice too.
When he reached the Established Class with a perfect breakthrough formed by a resonance of Core Sync, he had achieved the ideal outcome in each Frame. The most obvious of those outcomes was the +100% to his physical stats that his Linear Frame gave him.
The Established Class was exactly as it sounded. It was the Class whereupon your Frames would make themselves manifest, stepping free of the usual generic uniformity that they held in the Proving Class.
The divisions became more obvious, and what made every individual Frame shine pushed forth.
Upon reaching the Vector Class, your Neural Frames became exactly that... a Vector for your progress, a directionality for your path of improvement.
A northern star.
Now that your Neural Frames had been Established, it was time for them to properly guide you.
The Resonant Sense formed by the Resonant Frame could now be turned internal. One’s sense for their own Frame reflected in their mind and their control touched upon an entirely different level.
The Recursive Frame garnered you the ability to more rapidly improve and learn upon reaching the Established Class. Grey had yet to personally experience this because his Recursive Frame—the Mechanical Jaw Frame—was the last of the Frames he received and the only one that had had no Abilities at all until now.
But now its evolution was likewise turned internally. A Recursive Frame was insatiable, always growing, always healing, always evolving. It was a Frame that was near impossible to cripple because when one path was blocked off, another would form.
Amunet had lost an entire leg, and yet it seemed as though her fighting capability hadn’t been weakened at all. Yet, she was still in the Proving Class now.
Thus was the power of the Recursive Frame. The repetition of patterns could always be replaced by something else...
The Linear Frame was next. At the Vector Class, it became a Neural Frame that was extremely difficult to interrupt. Abilities were nearly impossible to cancel from external means, and they were highly resistant to illusions and things of the like.
And without a shadow of a doubt, it was the Frame that fired its circuits and activated its abilities with the most shocking speed...
And then there was Branching.
