After returning from the detention center, Karen had treated Jody to lunch at Dex Restaurant. Not long after finishing, she was now lying at home enjoying the air conditioning.
Seeing a call from an unknown number, Karen answered crisply, "Hello?"
"Karen, it's me, Mandy." Mandy truly hated Karen and thought she was a super bitch, so she didn't waste words and got straight to the point. "I want to meet you to talk about Lip."
Karen actually hated Mandy too and wasn't keen on meeting her.
But on second thought, talking to Mandy might be a better way to torture Lip, so she changed her mind and replied in a sweet voice, "Sure, where should we meet?"
Mandy gave the address of a park.
Karen said she'd be there in a bit.

Karen arrived at the park, got out of her car, flashed a brilliant smile at Mandy, and greeted her warmly, "Mandy."
Karen's behavior left Mandy a bit confused.
Mandy couldn't figure out what game Karen was playing, so she kept a straight face, took a fierce drag of her cigarette, and asked bluntly as usual, "Are you really pregnant with Lip's child?"
Mandy's attitude was truly annoying. Karen took a silent deep breath, held it in, kept her smile, and nodded. "Yeah."
"Are you going to keep the baby?" Mandy asked again.
"Probably," Karen smiled back, then proactively added, "But you don't need to worry. I went to see Lip at the detention center this morning and made it very clear to him. There is no possibility between him and me anymore. Although this child is biologically related to him, that's all there is to it. I won't let him be involved in this child's life."
"So, he's yours. Enjoy him all you want."
The way she said it, like she was giving charity, was truly grating.
Mandy was even more displeased. She frowned instantly, paused for two seconds to suppress her anger, and didn't explode. "What did he say?"
Karen shrugged and replied nonchalantly, "Just the same old stuff. Said he loves me, and you're just a tool for him to fxxk. Just like that."
