Shortly after 7:00 PM.
Having finished business for the day, Dexter and Bianca strolled over to the Alibi Room as usual to kill some time.
Tonight, the Alibi was much livelier than usual because of Frank's return.
Comrade Frank might be shameless, but when it came to livening up the atmosphere, he was actually pretty damn good... if nothing else, just that mouth of his chattering non-stop was enough to build a vibe.
At this moment, Frank was spouting his unique life philosophy—or rather, his twisted logic—to Kermit and the other barflies.
Kermit and the others ignored him. That little bit of nostalgia they had felt when they first saw Frank earlier had been completely exhausted by Frank's trash talk over the past hour or so.
The group of drunks returned to their previous state, mostly just ignoring Frank and pretending he didn't exist.
Dexter and Bianca sat at the bar.
Seeing them, Kevin nimbly brought over two beers.
Dexter smiled at Kevin, then a thought occurred to him. "Kevin, Veronica is working hard at college right now. I suggest you learn something too."
"Oh?" Kevin's IQ was quite limited, and he didn't catch the reason behind Dexter's words. "Why?"
Dexter smiled slyly. "You know how it is—relationships are about keeping pace. You're staying in one spot while Veronica is leveling up. Aren't you worried she might meet a better man?"
Thump!
Hearing this, Kevin was instantly dumbfounded and scared. "That couldn't happen..."
Dexter kept smiling and turned to wink at Bianca. "Bianca, do you think it's possible?"
Having lived together for so long, Bianca had that bit of tacit understanding. She immediately nodded at Kevin with a serious face. "It is possible. Veronica is so beautiful and has money now; there will definitely be a lot of men actively pursuing her."
With both Dexter and Bianca saying this, Kevin was bewildered and had to believe it a little. "Shit! I shouldn't have supported her going to college!"
Haha.
Comrade Kevin's train of thought was just that interesting.
Dexter smiled smugly.
Kevin was truly panicking. He scratched his head and asked Dexter, "What should I go learn?"
"You run a bar. I suggest you learn mixology. Learn to add a bunch of random crap into the alcohol, and you can sell it for a higher price," Dexter suggested with a laugh.
It was quite a coincidence.
As more and more rich people from other districts trickled into the Alibi to drink, ordering a bunch of cocktails Kevin had no clue how to make, Kevin actually had the idea to learn mixology for a while now.
It was just that he never had much drive and kept putting it off.
Now, hearing Dexter say this...
"I'll go tomorrow!" Kevin didn't hesitate, speaking with absolute determination.
Dexter decisively gave Kevin a thumbs up. "Good job. Once you've learned it, we'll find a time to open a club around here for fun."
Hearing this, Kevin's eyes widened in a goofy manner. "That kind of high-end club? The kind where a bunch of people dance?"
"Mm," Dexter responded with a brilliant smile. "The kind with a bunch of hot chicks."
Hearing this.
"Ahem," it was Bianca's turn to be unable to stand it. She immediately faked a cough twice and said to Dexter sarcastically, "Mr. King, did you forget I'm still sitting here?"
The words entered his ears, and Dexter's mind raced. He decisively went into full acting mode, looking shocked. "Oh no! I really forgot. I didn't say anything just now!"
Bianca: "?????? Mr. King, do you take me for a fool?"
"Hehe," Dexter laughed foolishly.
"Hmph," Bianca glared at Dexter.
Amidst the cheerful atmosphere, time flew by.
Unknowingly, it was 8:30 PM.
Dexter checked the time and felt it was time to go back, so he motioned for Bianca to leave.
Unexpectedly.
The two had just stood up and hadn't even had time to move.
Suddenly.
Not far away, Frank, who God knows how much he had drunk, was swaying toward the restroom when he suddenly stiffened and toppled over, hitting the floor with a dull thud.
Seeing this.
Tommy and the other drunks were used to it. They all laughed loudly and unceremoniously started mocking Frank.
In an instant, all sorts of ridicule rose and fell.
But Frank remained motionless, not making a sound.
Dexter blinked, sensing something was wrong, so he didn't rush to leave.
Five seconds, ten seconds, thirty seconds...
Frank still didn't move.
At this time, Tommy and the other drunks also sensed something was wrong and gradually stopped laughing.
"Yo, Kev, Frank might be dead," Tommy turned and said to Kevin the next second.
"Jesus, don't die here," Kevin said helplessly. He hurriedly came out from behind the bar, walked quickly to Frank, turned him over, and reached out to check Frank's breathing.
"Still breathing," Kevin sighed in relief, and after speaking, slapped Frank. "Frank!"
Frank still didn't react.
Undoubtedly, something was definitely wrong.
Bianca was a doctor. Seeing this, she immediately stepped over to Frank's side. "Let me take a look."
Dexter naturally sat back on the high stool, took out his cigarettes, and lit one, having already guessed what was going on.
Frank's liver was toast.
The Gallagher family was about to have a new drama.
Dexter smiled silently, quite amused.
Soon, Bianca finished her check and didn't delay, saying to Kevin, "Call an ambulance."
Kevin hurriedly obeyed.
Not long after.
Wee-woo wee-woo~~~
The ambulance arrived, and several paramedics nimbly lifted Frank onto the stretcher.
The cheerful atmosphere of the Alibi Room stalled for a moment, followed by a burst of discussion about Frank.
Once that was done, they went back to drinking and being happy.
It was just Frank, after all. If he died, he died; it wouldn't affect anything.
Dexter and Bianca prepared to leave.
However, before leaving, Dexter thought for a moment and told Kevin, "Kevin, maybe you should call Fiona and tell her to go to the hospital to check."
Kevin heard this and nodded in agreement.
---
Downtown, a certain upscale bar.
Fiona was flirting with a handsome guy who had been there a few times and could be considered a regular, her face full of smiles.
It wasn't about whether Fiona liked this guy or not; she was purely addicted to the thrill brought by this kind of flirting.
The handsome guy was, of course, thinking of something else.
Just like that, amidst the flirting, the handsome guy leaned in, his mouth close to Fiona's ear. "Maybe we should go to the restroom and talk."
To be honest, Fiona was quite tempted.
But Fiona still had some rationality and didn't want to make that kind of mistake again. She smiled and shook her head gently. "Sorry, I have a boyfriend."
The handsome guy smiled brilliantly. "You don't tell, I don't tell, how would he know?"
Fiona was even more tempted. So, she didn't dare to stay any longer. Dropping a "sorry," she turned and walked away.
As she walked.
Her phone rang.
Taking it out and seeing it was Kevin, Fiona's expression changed immediately, certain that Frank had caused trouble again.
Therefore, Fiona really didn't want to answer, but after struggling with it, she pressed answer.
