Chapter 684 - 682: The Family’s Charlatan (Part 7)

Thinking back now, she didn’t really need this Jade Token, but on a whim, she went ahead and crafted it. Mostly, it seemed like something fated, meant for Hua Wen.

Having met, she wasn’t willing to let Hua Wen leave just like that. Who knew what might happen in between.

It’s better to keep it by her side.

Hua Wen didn’t refuse and even asked, "Can I go inside and stay for a while now?"

There was no other reason; the aura of this Jade Token was truly tempting for him.

Ah Chen understood because when she was crafting it, she unknowingly amplified the Jade Token’s Soul Nourishing ability.

Seeing her nod, Hua Wen immediately slipped into the Jade Token.

Ah Chen touched the Jade Token, a faint smile appearing on her lips, feeling more at ease this way.

The ride-hailing driver glanced at Ah Chen, internally remarking that today’s young streamers are really into abstract concepts, leaving him in a fog, not really understanding.

But it did make him curious to hear more.

Not everyone pays attention to the situation at Wen’s Castle. The driver before her is one of those who are unaware.

Sensing Hua Wen had entered the Jade Token and closed his eyes, Ah Chen didn’t bother further.

Checking her phone again, she realized the livestream audience was asking who she was talking to.

Since she mentioned Soul Body before, some viewers speculated if she was talking to a ghost.

Some haters thought she was trying to be mysterious, creating such an event right at the start of her stream, merely as a gimmick.

Others thought she might have been talking to a customer, dealing with some problem that had arisen.

In any case, there were all sorts of guesses.

Ah Chen pretended not to see these, considering the livestreaming phone was aimed at the scenery outside the window.

Dan City Airport.

As soon as Ah Chen got out of the car, she encountered a familiar face. Who else could it be but Lin Xixi?

Lin Xixi also marveled at the coincidence, thinking that since they had run into each other, they should certainly say hello.

Smiling, she said, "Feng Chen, what a coincidence."

"Yes, Master Xiao Xi." Ah Chen returned a slight smile, thinking it was fate to meet her right upon stepping out.

In that lifetime of the commissioner, they also met, although back then Hua Wen hadn’t come looking. Normally, a non-crafted Jade Token wasn’t that attractive to ghosts, primarily offering Soul Protection, with slight Soul Nourishing capabilities. The commissioner had a slim chance of survival because of the Jade Token’s Soul Protection ability. Had it been too attractive, the commissioner wouldn’t have managed to keep such a treasure.

Rumor had it that this was crafted by a high-ranking ancestor, perhaps just passed down through generations, or maybe it was deliberately prepared. So much time had passed, it wasn’t necessary to dwell on it further.

"Just call me Lin Xixi," Lin Xixi said, "Master Xiao Xi sounds awkward."

Ah Chen agreed, "Okay."

It’s just a form of address which didn’t matter to her as long as the other party didn’t mind.

Perhaps being in the same city, their flights were on the same schedule.

Initially, the audience thought their meeting might spark something, but both were quite polite, leaving those hoping for drama rather disappointed.

On the way to the departure lounge, both Lin Xixi and Fu Yingshu were subtly observing Ah Chen.

They didn’t cause any trouble, and Ah Chen let them examine her.

Lin Xixi’s eyes were full of curiosity, while Fu Yingshu frequently glanced at the Jade Token on Ah Chen’s neck, clearly interested in it.

From their thoughts, Ah Chen could sense a bit. Last time, after concluding her collaborative stream with Lin Xixi, someone tried to calculate her fate again, and she felt it. She concealed herself to avoid the serious backlash that these calculators could suffer. Lin Xixi was a key figure in this Wen’s Mystical Skill livestream event, and it would be best if nothing went wrong on their end before it concluded.

Normally, mystics avoid calculating each other, fearing offending a tough rival or someone holding a grudge.

They dared calculate her without permission because they thought she was a fake master.

Indeed, the commissioner was a crook; this line of work was survival of the fittest. If you meet a true master, it’s just bad luck.

"I wonder from whom Miss Feng learned? Which school or family?" In the departure lounge, Fu Yingshu finally asked.

At such a close distance, he was more sure that the Jade Token on Feng Chen’s neck was something extraordinary, though he couldn’t pinpoint the specifics.

This was because after Hua Wen entered the Jade Token, Ah Chen sealed its aura.

Since everything that needed to be done was done, there was no need for the Jade Token’s Soul Nourishing ability to stand out boldly, merely arousing covetousness.

"An ancestor had some skills," replied Ah Chen since the Feng Family’s ancestors indeed had orthodox mystics, though none in the present.

Upon hearing, Fu Yingshu didn’t inquire further.

In that case, that Jade Token should indeed be a family heirloom.

No mystic would dislike such a treasure, but coveting someone’s heirloom was naturally out of the question.

"We are from the Wushan Fu Family, and my name is Fu Yingshu," Fu Yingshu introduced himself, speaking quite politely.

Ah Chen replied, "I know you."

The commissioner indeed knew Fu Yingshu as they graduated from the same school. When the commissioner was studying at Dan City University, Fu Yingshu hadn’t yet graduated, and during the welcome party of that year, he performed.

This left Fu Yingshu and Lin Xixi surprised, but Lin Xixi quickly realized her senior brother had become famous online due to some videos, and it’s not surprising to be recognized.

Actually, if you knew the Mystical Art World, more people should know her senior brother, as he was a rare genius. Many masters envied the Wushan Fu Family for having such an heir.

"Have you also watched the videos online?" Lin Xixi asked with interest.

Ah Chen shook her head, "No, but I’ve watched Senior Brother Fu’s performance at the welcome party."

With that, the senior and junior brother-sister duo understood; it turns out they were schoolmates.

The livestream audience also marveled, wondering if it had been a feud between two schoolmates all along?

["Xiao Xi’s attitude is too good, isn’t this Feng Chen a scammer?"]

["Currently, there’s no proof that she is a scammer, right?"]

["Exactly, she’s even going to participate in the Wen’s Mystical Skill livestream, clearly unafraid, some people better not recklessly call her a scammer, beware of being sued."]

As they prepared to board the plane, all their livestreams were shut off.

Wen’s arrangements provided business class tickets for all, and the three sat near each other, able to chat again. Ah Chen didn’t seem to care, whereas Lin Xixi was quite pleased.

Now with no stream, Lin Xixi suddenly recalled something, looking slightly conflicted, contemplating whether to say something but hesitating.

If it were someone else, they might’ve asked her what was up, prompting her to speak.

But Ah Chen was not that kind of person, whether one wanted to speak or not. Despite being from the same school, her impression of Lin Xixi hadn’t changed. They could chat because their words were polite; even strangers could exchange a few words.

Regardless of Lin Xixi or Fu Yingshu, she didn’t particularly like either of them. It’s partly due to the commissioner’s memories and her personal impression based on their interactions.

Even if polite, there was still a hint of arrogance in their words.

Lin Xixi hesitated for a while until she realized Ah Chen had already put on her eye mask, and her words were swallowed back.

She leaned towards Fu Yingshu, fiddling with her phone out of boredom.

Fu Yingshu, however, asked, "What’s wrong?"
