Before he was ten, he was indeed not as good as Ge Yu, who was recognized as a genius in the Mystical Art World. To him, Ge Yu was an insurmountable figure.
But after he turned ten, his talent improved naturally, surpassing Ge Yu.
Since then, Ge Yu had set his sights on him, always wanting to measure up to him in some competitions. It was understandable; after all, no one would be content being surpassed by someone deemed inferior.
Ge Yu nodded: "I heard you came, so I had to come. However," his expression paused, "I have no confidence this time, do you?"
Finding a reincarnated person is inherently difficult, let alone one who died many years ago.
If the person had just died or was known before death, the difficulty could be halved, but it still wouldn’t be easy.
At least in the current Mystical Art World, no one claims to have such confidence and can accurately calculate the results.
"I’m here accompanying my junior sister." Fu Yingshu’s tone was indifferent. Ge Yu was a tough opponent, and indeed strong, only slightly less skilled than him these years. So, whenever Ge Yu showed up, it made him particularly stressed.
He did not want to lose to Ge Yu.
"I am Ge Yu, a disciple of the White Mountain Sect." He greeted Fu Yingshu with a nod and politely introduced himself to Ah Chen and the others, looking somewhat arrogant yet courteous.
Since the introduction was so polite, Ah Chen and the others naturally introduced themselves briefly.
Then the group engaged in idle chat, mostly Lin Xixi and Luo Yun talking. The newcomer, Ge Yu, didn’t say much, just sat in the chair holding his sword, a cup of clear tea in front of him.
His good looks sparked heated discussion among the livestream viewers as he entered from the door, and now no one doubted his abilities.
"Who is he?" Suddenly, Hua Wen’s voice entered Ah Chen’s ears through a mysterious transmission. It seemed this ghost had learned quite a bit over the years.
Unperturbed, she asked via telepathy, "Who are you referring to?"
"The man wearing casual clothes." Hua Wen’s voice continued to enter Ah Chen’s ears. She glanced up; wasn’t Fu Yingshu the man in casual wear?
"His name is Fu Yingshu, from the Wushan Fu Family. Why, do you have a special feeling about him?" Ah Chen asked.
Hua Wen replied, "Fu Yingshu? Wushan Fu Family? Do you remember I mentioned the master who helped me back in the day? He was from the Wushan Fu Family too, named Fu Xianhe, but I don’t know what relationship Fu Xianhe has with Fu Yingshu."
"Just as I woke up, I sensed an aura of annoyance from Fu Yingshu."
Ah Chen pondered, "If there’s a chance, I’ll help you inquire about their relationship."
"Thank you." Hua Wen kept staring at Fu Yingshu through the Jade Token, growing more and more irritated.
Remembering it was Fu Xianhe who solved the problem with unclean entities for him years ago, it wasn’t hard to speculate. Disliking someone without reason is odd; could it be related to that past event?
Miss Feng mentioned something missing in his soul body; could it be taken by Fu Xianhe and placed on Fu Yingshu?
If it was placed on Fu Yingshu, it must be something valuable.
Even now, he didn’t know what he was missing, and even Miss Feng was unclear.
With this thought, Hua Wen suppressed his feelings for now.
"Do you sense any threat in the castle here?" Ah Chen suddenly asked.
Hua Wen was stunned, then tried to sense outside: "There’s a vague sense of crisis. If it were to activate, I shouldn’t come out, or I might be in danger."
"Good, then don’t come out. There’s a Soul Destruction Array here; it’s indeed not activated; your perception is very keen." Ah Chen explained.
Hua Wen was slightly surprised; why was there a Soul Destruction Array set up in the well-maintained Wen’s Castle? His instincts warned him of some conspiracy within.
"Miss Feng, be careful."
"No worries, the Soul Destruction Array doesn’t harm the living." Ah Chen said. Even if it did, it couldn’t hurt her; it was a matter of her snapping her fingers to solve it.
Fu Yingshu felt a vague chill on his back but couldn’t tell where it was coming from. Looking around, he still couldn’t figure it out.
In the drowsy afternoon, Lin Xixi suddenly approached Ah Chen a bit closer.
Ah Chen glanced at her with a smile, slightly guessing her thoughts.
Sure enough, he heard her mumbling, "Feng Chen, I think you should take down the Calming Talisman from your shop, it doesn’t have any effect, does it?"
Lin Xixi was anxious because she had just checked and found that sales had increased again. She thought it wouldn’t be good not to advise otherwise, as people buying it clearly expected some effect. But it was made of ordinary Yellow Paper, how could it have any effect?
Her voice was so low that it couldn’t be picked up by the livestream’s microphone. The audience focusing on their table was only curious about what they were murmuring about.
Not just the audience; even those sitting a bit farther couldn’t hear unless they had real skills.
Ah Chen remained composed, unembarrassed by Lin Xixi’s words.
She said, "For 50 bucks, anyone would know it won’t have any miraculous effect, right?"
Seeing Lin Xixi’s shocked expression, Ah Chen smiled, "If it indeed had an effect, selling it for 50 would mean a loss, wouldn’t it? It’s called a Calming Talisman, but that’s not necessarily to say it will bring peace of mind. It’s merely a comfort, buyers should be aware, and I don’t do forced sales. As of now, it seems there’s no prohibition against selling such things."
There are plenty of similar items on the internet; buyers are just seeking peace of mind, similar to auspicious items endowed by humans, who expects any real magical effect?
Just like those high school seniors who had been through psychological counseling before, buying it was merely a psychological reassurance. Many fears and anxieties don’t require specific medication for treatment.
This is also why the commissioner sells Calming Talismans instead of Evil Exorcism Talismans.
This world indeed has ghosts; if someone truly believed an Evil Exorcism Talisman could exorcize evil and it didn’t work when encountering ghosts, it would be deadly.
Even charlatans have their principles.
Seeing Lin Xixi’s big-eyed look, Ah Chen maintained her smile, pulling up a plethora of peace charms and Evil Exorcism Talismans on her phone, showing them to her: "There are plenty online; why focus on me specifically?"
Ah Chen’s voice wasn’t small, so the audience by them heard it loud and clear.
If Lin Xixi stayed quiet, there wouldn’t be these troubles, but she was overly bothersome, focusing only on Ah Chen.
"Their sales are quite high, and some of this fake vermillion might even be harmful. Right, there’s also the food forgeries—those are the actual threats to human health. Master Xiao Xi, haven’t seen you crusading against them? Is it because you haven’t noticed, find it troublesome, or dare not provoke them?" Ah Chen’s eyes contained a smile, "Focusing solely on me isn’t fair, you know I’m not that easy to bully either."
