"Could there really be a teleportation array here?"
Guo Yunchu complained.
He didn’t believe these people had the skill to set up a teleportation array in such a barren place.
"There’s no teleportation array, but there is another way. If you don’t believe me, suit yourself!"
The burly man wasn’t going to force Lin Chang’sheng and the others.
"Lead the way!"
Lin Chang’sheng spoke up.
Hearing this, the burly man continued on.
He led them into an empty room, lifted the floorboard, revealing a bottomless cavern underneath.
"Follow me!"
The burly man grabbed a torch and led the way.
As soon as they entered the cavern, a thick stench of blood hit them, along with a faint breeze drifting through, suggesting there must be an exit ahead—otherwise a closed cavern wouldn’t have wind.
Guo Yunchu didn’t dare stay at the back, so he moved up behind Lin Chang’sheng, while Gu Shan brought up the rear.
Gu Shan couldn’t be bothered to argue with Guo Yunchu—did she really think the middle was safe?
If anything happened, it wouldn’t matter where she was; she’d be the first to die, no doubt.
Her meridians were all severed, her body void of primordial power, not even a shred of resistance left.
Lin Chang’sheng wasn’t sure if the burly man ahead truly had a way out, or was just bluffing them.
But he decided to give it a shot.
If the man meant harm, he could cut him down with a single blow—after all, the guy was only Early Stage Integration cultivation.
They hadn’t gone far—about the time it takes to burn a stick of incense—when the burly man suddenly halted.
"We’re here!"
The burly man raised his hand to signal.
Lin Chang’sheng stopped, but Guo Yunchu seemed lost in thought and bumped into Lin Chang’sheng’s back by accident.
Lin Chang’sheng felt a warmth behind him.
"I—I didn’t mean to!"
Guo Yunchu explained quickly, her face flushing crimson.
Lin Chang’sheng didn’t bother with her, and, following the burly man’s gesture, looked ahead to see a vast open space.
The place stretched on for ten miles, shockingly expansive.
Lin Chang’sheng hadn’t expected such a huge underground chamber, and was secretly amazed.
In the heart of the space, an enormous city stood tall, like some ancient subterranean city, teeming with mystery.
At the city’s center, lights burned bright, evidence of life inside.
"Go see the City Lord of Blood City. He’s helped people through the Demon Sea before. Whether he’ll help you or not depends on your luck!"
With that, the burly man turned and left.
He’d done what he came to do.
"Hey! We haven’t even met anyone yet and you’re leaving? Who knows if there’s a way out of this city? What if it’s some kind of array, or a trap?"
Guo Yunchu shouted in protest as she watched the burly man walk away.
But the burly man didn’t look back, just kept going.
If not for Guo Yunchu being accompanied by Mahayana and Tribulation Crossing Stage masters, she’d probably have met a nasty end out here already.
This was an ungoverned place, where anything goes—provided you’re strong enough.
"The City Lord’s name is Mou Yuntao!"
The burly man called out.
Then his figure vanished into the depths of the cavern.
Lin Chang’sheng spread out his divine sense, picking up plenty of people in Blood City ahead. It was lively in there, but he still wondered: why have so many gathered in this place?
"This place doesn’t seem ordinary!"
Gu Shan said slowly, her instincts tingling.
"Of course it’s not ordinary! This is actually a Loose Immortal Cave Mansion!"
After Yun Shan’s words faded, Liu Jianxing’s voice sounded in Lin Chang’sheng’s mind.
"What? Loose Immortal Cave Mansion?"
Lin Chang’sheng was stunned—was this a Grotto Heaven Blessed Land?
But why did it seem so eerie?
"Did you ever wonder why I never told you where the Loose Immortal Cave Mansion was? It’s here. I didn’t expect after all these years, this place would be excavated like this."
Liu Jianxing spoke slowly.
He knew that the Loose Immortal who fell here was a man filled with vicious evil qi.
He was afraid Lin Chang’sheng would become bloodthirsty if he inherited that legacy.
So he’d kept it secret from Lin Chang’sheng all this time.
Yet Lin Chang’sheng had stumbled on it by accident, so Liu Jianxing felt there was no need to hide it anymore.
"Even if this is a Loose Immortal Cave Mansion, looks like there aren’t any treasures left!"
Lin Chang’sheng replied.
Sword Elder still remembered his promise to help find the Cave Mansion—Lin Chang’sheng had thought he’d forgotten by now.
It was regrettable: clearly, someone had long since found this place.
There was probably nothing worth having left inside.
"Not necessarily. Treasures have restrictions—most people can’t just take them."
Sword Elder countered.
"Let’s hope so!"
Lin Chang’sheng replied, though he wasn’t holding out much hope for treasure here.
He stepped forward toward Blood City.
Vmmm—
As they advanced, it felt as if they crossed a barrier.
A ripple of blood-colored light spread out.
Once inside, Lin Chang’sheng realized retreat was no longer an option.
Sure enough, there was an array barrier here, sealing off the way back.
"See? I knew there’d be an array here! Now it’s hard to get out!"
Guo Yunchu grumbled.
Anyone could tell this was a trap, but Lin Chang’sheng had walked in willingly.
Now getting out wouldn’t be so easy.
"There are so many people inside. What are you afraid of?"
Lin Chang’sheng shrugged—array or no array, he’d find a way to break it eventually.
First, time to see what mysteries awaited inside the city.
As he got closer, Lin Chang’sheng saw the area outside the city was piled up with bones; some emaciated cultivators still clung to life among them.
