Chapter 304: Meeting With The Emissary of Darkness, Mundus (I)

It was a presence that made no effort to conceal itself, leaving its aura spreading chaotically even to the farthest depths of this seemingly endless void.

White could sense it, even though his eyes had yet to see far enough to lock onto it.

And the more he chased after that aura, the faster the rings in his eyes spun, burning harder and harder with rage, until that fury erupted into a wave of anger that swept through the Void, expanding farther and farther until everything within a kilometer radius around him was painted a deep blood red.

One could easily say the Supernaturals had been responsible for Humanity’s misery.

Every Human would believe that, but White as an Emissary knew was that the truth went far beyond that.

The Supernaturals were nothing more than a tool used to create that misery.

The one who was truly worthy of blame was the one who had unleashed and wielded that tool in the first place.

The creation of the Apexial Doom Rift that had allowed the Supernaturals into Earth had been the conscious decision of a single being:

The Third Emissary of Darkness, Mundus!

700 Kilometers from White...

A world moved.

It wasn’t a meteor of any sort, but an entire world moving forward in a straight trajectory through space, warping the entirety of the void into successions of black holes after black holes with sheer overwhelming weight and speed.

If one could look within, they would find a sea of darkness rolling forth from the depths, along with the reverberations.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The entirety of the ground of this world quaked repeatedly, while what should have been air was instead pitch-black lightning lurching violently in every direction.

The seeming inhabitants of this world all marched forward as the planet itself advanced through the void.

It was a hellish army, one whose numbers raged at a minimum of nine hundred million, consisting of neither child nor woman.

All were masculine horrors, standing not upon two but four horse-like legs, from which rose the gigantic upper torso of a humanoid, each wielding a weapon of destruction.

If a Human versed in myths were to lay eyes upon one, they would recognize them immediately as a race of Hellish Centaurs.

Every one of them radiated an aura powerful enough to reduce ordinary worlds to ruins.

Their monstrous bodies were covered in black armor that seemed to have fused directly with their flesh, while the weapons in their hands pulsed with violent crimson runes, each one carrying an overwhelming scent of bloodshed.

They marched in perfect silence, no battle cries, nor conversations.

Only disciplined steps that caused the entire planet beneath them to tremble as though it were struggling to endure the weight of its own army.

_____

At the farthest depths of this planet, far behind the marching army of Hellish Centaurs, was a void with a darkness that somehow felt darker than darkness itself.

Silence covered everything, the abyss stretching downward farther than the eye could ever hope to see.

All was deathly calm.

Not even the violent tremors shaking the rest of the planet reached this place.

It was as though the abyss existed apart from the world itself, isolated by an invisible law that forbade even sound from lingering within it.

The silence wasn’t peaceful.

If anything, it was oppressive, carrying the suffocating feeling that something unimaginably ancient had been sleeping beneath those depths for far longer than worlds themselves had existed.

But then everything began to quiver.

The abyss churned and rolled as the darkness whipped violently around like an endless storm.

CLATTTERR!

CLATTTERR!

The sound of heavy chains clattering echoed from the depths of the abyss, and slowly, something flickered within the darkness.

A dark light, one distinguishable even amidst absolute darkness that swallowed all.

It separated into two rays, revealing two enormous eyes slowly opening.

They were the eyes of a demon, completely pitch black without the slightest trace of any other color.

Their gaze stretched forward, passing through the army before them, through the entirety of the planet, and into the Void itself, crossing seven hundred thousand kilometers before finally locking onto him.

A being whose rage had stained the void around him blood red, and whose ringed white eyes spun with a blazing ferocity greater than that of the sun.

At that exact same moment, White’s own gaze locked onto it.

Neither of them looked away, and in that moment, the endless void separating them suddenly felt insignificant beneath the sheer intensity of that exchange.

It was more than two beings discovering each other’s presence.

It was the meeting of two existences whose hatred had already decided that only one would continue beyond this moment.

The instant both pairs of eyes collided, White’s speed exploded to an insane level as he rushed through the void with even greater ferocity.

A voice, grating and explosive, sounding more like the growl of a devil than spoken words, boomed throughout the endless void.

"I feel your rage... A rage burning crimson."

At those words, the chains began clattering madly.

Then,

CREAAAAAK!

BAAAAAAAANG!

The sound of them being forced to lengthen echoed throughout the void before finally, they snapped apart.

GROOOOWWWWWWWWWWLLLL!

A devilish roar burst forth, clawing through the void, shaking the darkness itself as though reality had become the throat through which that monstrous sound was forced.

Even the countless black holes surrounding the moving world trembled violently beneath its passage, collapsing and reforming in chaotic succession as the roar continued endlessly through the infinite expanse.

"Come... You with the burning rage!"

"Come to your own death!"

______

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!

A roar of fury exploded from White’s mouth as he transformed into a living meteor burning through the void.

But the flames trailing behind him weren’t crimson, they were pitch black, corrupted by the darkness he was the embodiment off.

Ripping through the black holes and the countless unnatural phenomena surrounding the moving world, he tore straight through its atmosphere and descended upon the planet where nine hundred million Hellish Centaurs welcomed his arrival.

"May your souls, even in death, never find peace!"

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
