Chapter 370: Elias Langley Is Still Too Strong

Juliana finished speaking, patted him on the shoulder, and walked out of the dining hall.

"Raine, let’s go out for a while."

She walked away without looking back.

Elias Langley was annoyed into laughter by her last barbed remark.

He stared at her disappearing figure outside the door and asked the steward in a deep voice, "It’s late at night, what is she going out for?"

Steward Fay lowered his head, "Madam’s whereabouts, I dare not inquire about."

At this time, Iris Paxton seemingly inadvertently murmured, "Business or normal socializing usually isn’t scheduled at night, right? Chairman Langley’s two sons are in Kingsford, she... is really busy."

Elias Langley didn’t pay much attention to Iris Paxton’s words.

But recalling the one-sided "Marital Behavior Constraint Agreement" between the two, the bit of possessiveness in his heart felt uncomfortable.

He’s not allowed to flirt, so what about her?

Going out alone at night, what’s she planning to do?

He half-squinted his eyes...

Juliana went to a bar.

Raine Kane accompanied her.

The hall was very noisy, and she subconsciously touched her abdomen.

It’s only been a month or so, the baby probably can’t hear the outside noise, right?

Standing at the door of a private room, Raine Kane first pushed open the door and glanced inside, then nodded to Juliana.

"You wait for me at the parking lot, I’ll call you if I need anything."

Raine Kane nodded.

Juliana walked in and saw Miles Monroe sitting in the main seat, surrounded by a few men drinking on the half-circle sofa.

Although there were many people, there wasn’t a trace of smoke smell.

"Caleb, is this your girlfriend? No wonder you don’t let us smoke."

"Alcohol can’t shut you up, go drink in the bathroom."

Miles Monroe rebuked his friend, put down his glass, and patted the spot beside him.

Juliana walked over and sat down.

Miles Monroe picked up a glass of cocktail, indicating if she wanted a drink?

Juliana didn’t look at the drink in his hand, "I want to talk to you about Elias Langley, he..."

Miles Monroe put his index finger to his lips, and seeing this, Juliana stopped speaking.

He swapped the cocktail for a bottle of pure water and handed it to her.

He also gestured for her to lean back into the sofa, then naturally placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Let’s make a bet," Miles Monroe said.

"Bet on what?" Juliana was puzzled.

"The tail will definitely arrive within ten minutes."

Juliana turned her head to look at him, "His memory is seriously disturbed, he doesn’t remember things from before, how could he..."

Before she could finish, the door to the private room was pushed open, and Elias Langley’s cold figure appeared at the door.

In the sofa, the chatting men fell silent.

Juliana was so surprised that she forgot to remove Miles Monroe’s arm.

Miles Monroe sneered, saying softly, "Overestimated him, he couldn’t even last ten minutes."

Then he said to his drinking friends, "Let’s call it a day, I’ll foot the bill, let’s gather another day."

The friends, being sensible, all got up and said goodbye.

Only three people were left in the private room.

Elias Langley stepped forward step by step, carrying a heavy aura of oppression with him.

He stood in front of them, looking down, his gaze finally landing on Juliana’s face.

"You, move over a bit, preferably three meters away from him."

Juliana pursed her lips and eventually stood up as instructed, but not too far, unsure of what he intended to do with Miles Monroe.

As soon as she stood at a safe distance, Elias Langley grabbed Miles Monroe’s collar and lifted him up.

Miles Monroe didn’t resist, just calmly looked at him.

Elias Langley’s voice was so cold it carried a metallic quality.

"This hand, should it be broken or sawed off?"

Miles Monroe, far from being afraid, laughed instead.

"Elias Langley, by your logic... hugging another woman, and right in front of Juliana, what should be done about your hands then?"

Elias Langley froze, "Who did I hug?"

Miles Monroe glanced toward Juliana, "Just because you don’t remember doesn’t mean you didn’t do it. You made a wounded woman fall for you completely, then gave her even greater hurt and disappointment. So, by your logic, what should you do with yourself?"

These words struck a vulnerable spot deep in Elias Langley’s mind.

He released Miles Monroe, supporting his head to relieve the intense throbbing at his temples.

But Miles Monroe didn’t let him off, continuing to provoke, "She’s over it now, finding a fling or two shouldn’t anger you, after all, it’s her way of finding joy."

"Shut up! Whether or not we have feelings, we’re still husband and wife, it’s not for an outsider like you to comment!"

The pain in Elias Langley’s eyes was instantly consumed by even more rampant anger; he raised his fist to strike Miles Monroe.

"Stop it!"

Juliana’s shout came, causing Elias Langley’s action to pause, his raised fist stopping three inches from Miles Monroe.

"You’re yelling at me for him?"

Elias Langley turned to look at her, a terrifying storm brewing in his eyes.

Juliana’s gaze at him was indifferent, distant.

"You let Iris Paxton off this afternoon, I didn’t say anything. Elias Langley, things between us are already like this, there’s no need for you to act so extreme. If you want to end it, you can talk to me anytime. But for now, I have serious business with Dr. Monroe, please leave."

Elias Langley, affected by her words, lowered his fist.

She actually had thoughts of divorce.

A feeling of programmatic chaos surged in his chest, but ultimately, he restrained himself.

"You’re really something!"

Throwing down these three words, he walked away without looking back.

The door opened and closed again.

Miles Monroe let out a breath.

"Seems like he’s genuinely not as sharp as before, didn’t even ask who ’number two’ is."

He adjusted the creases on his clothes, looking like a smug little brother.

Juliana had no reaction to his vain expression, instead going straight to the point.

"So, what’s his current state? Another bout of amnesia, or is his mind broken?"

Miles Monroe sat back on the sofa, leisurely taking a sip of wine.

"This time it’s not amnesia. With Elias Langley’s controlled memory, his subconscious memory hasn’t been lost, so there’s no major difference in actions and speech before and after the amnesia, but this one... is simply a different person."

Saying this, Miles Monroe’s eyes turned deep.

"Elias Langley is still too strong. After being injected with a double dose of the control drug, realizing the effect might completely erase his memory, his subconscious mounted an extreme resistance, giving rise to a highly defensive personality. This personality’s emergence, with a core logic of ’protecting the host existence,’ is thus violent, exclusionary, and full of possessiveness."

Juliana was somewhat incredulous, "You’re saying that what’s appearing now is his second personality?"

Miles Monroe nodded, "This personality’s appearance has the benefit of buying time for the damaged host to repair. But whether this armor willingly departs after the host recovers is unknown."

Juliana rubbed her temples, now feeling a headache too.

Iris Paxton must be dealt with quickly.

The reason for keeping this woman around is that Juliana intends to turn this pawn from Dylan Paxton into a bomb in the other party’s hands.

Now that Elias Langley has turned out like this, this matter must be expedited.
